Continuity mistake: Pilot: The mud on Dr. Quinn's face alters in size and shape between when she is meeting the Coopers and when she is upstairs in the room looking into the mirror. (00:09:00)
The Library - S3-E5
Other mistake: Dr. Mike spots a charred Bible within the charred piles of books, and heads into the church. The Reverend is giving a sermon on morality, and offers Dr. Mike the floor and she briefs about certain stories in the book, which would be considered scandalous, without mentioning the book's title, then hands it to the Reverend who agrees such stories are scandalous, until he turns it over, to see that its 'The Holy Bible'. Being a Reverend, he should know The Bible cover to cover, but reacts surprised or shocked over the mentioning of the scandalous stories. (00:36:00 - 00:41:00)
Continuity mistake: When Michaela and Sully appologize to each other at the end of the episode, in the first shot, all of Sully's hair is behind the blue headband. In the next shot, his fringes are not underneath the band anymore. (00:45:30)
Plot hole: In the ending scene, Mike has a probable concussion from her fall, so Sully keeps her awake to prevent her slipping into a coma. They talk all night, reminiscing as Mike experiences periodic pain spasms. Their talk ends with discussion over them having another child, and then they instantly engage in an intimate moment, which would be impossible, considering her condition, and without further checkup from another doctor. Sometime later she is suddenly feeling 'cured', and they return home.
Factual error: Marjorie's tragic death: The Quinn family has her funeral in the town cemetery, where she did not belong, instead honoring her death with a vigil, then transporting her body back to Boston, to be buried properly with her Quinn relatives: A common respect reserved for dignitaries; which technically the Quinn family was/is, and soldiers.
Other mistake: In the scene where Dorothy decides to join the church picnic (just before her operation) Grace is talking to her and hands her a glass of cider as Robert E. approaches. The sky is partly cloudy, but the lighting changes slightly during the shot, and at one moment, appears too bright on Dorothy just before she sets the glass down and walks away.
Visible crew/equipment: The moment Jake speaks up about 'closing the school' during the council meeting inside the school, the boom is not only visible above Jake's head but almost 'taps' him at the side of the head.
For Better or Worse (2) - S3-E29
Other mistake: When Loren confronts Elizabeth about giving Dr. Mike away, he states he's lived for 10 years with the guilt of not giving his late daughter Abagail away in marriage to Sully. But it would in fact have been only 4 years, given Sully's marriage to Abagail was 1.5 years before their pregnancy, labour, and death, followed by Dr. Mike's arrival a year later, to their current wedding day.
Visible crew/equipment: At the end, after Jake finally allows Anthony to attend the town's school, when Grace tells Jake they have a deal (regarding Jake and Hank's hotel) and shakes his hand, the boom mic dips into view at the top of the screen. (00:44:15)
Last Dance - S5-E6
Visible crew/equipment: While Welland Smith and Arty are telling Sully about national parks, Welland mentions President Grant, and just as Sully says, "Yes, sir," the boom mic dips into view at the top of the screen. (00:11:35)
Visible crew/equipment: After Robert E cuts the red ribbon to the new Freedmen school, when Michaela puts her arm around Grace and says, "You'll do fine, Grace," the boom mic dips into view at the top of the screen. (00:12:10)
Visible crew/equipment: Michaela tells Grace that she wired several colleges to try to find a permanent teacher, and just as "Directed by Chuck Bowman" appears on the screen, the boom mic dips into view at the top of the screen. (00:08:50)
Other mistake: When Cloud Dancing and Daniel walk a wounded Sully to a clearing, we see a road with what looks like flattened black tents on either side, and Cloud Dancing tells them the Army must have attacked it; that's what is left of a reservation. When it's a modern transport road for everyday access, very poorly disguised as a reservation camp.
Factual error: When Mike is talking with Colleen about women 'Having It All' while raising children, she mentions Dorothy raising four children while running a ranch, when Dorothy mentioned in earlier episodes that she has two daughters and one son (Tommy, who appeared in a prior episode).
Visible crew/equipment: The tip of the boom is visible every couple of seconds as Daniel shares a 'Sully story' during lunch at Grace's Cafe. (00:13:35)
Character mistake: As Preston is calling Sully on the sheriff situation, Loren enters, brandishing a new rifle to Preston, almost right over the baby's carriage. No way in tomorrow would Dr Mike or Sully have allowed this to happen, but have aimed the firearm in another direction, or at least Sully move in front, away from the baby's carriage.
Continuity mistake: Jake is ordered to remove the children (Colleen and Brian) from the courtroom, and escorts them outside. Yet as Dr. Mike resumes her protest to the judge, Jake is suddenly back in his frontal seat as Bailiff.
Continuity mistake: The gown Gilda S. Claire wears at her open concert is not the same one Emma made for her in the Mercantile.
Visible crew/equipment: Shadow from the boom is visible above Sully when he's talking with Michaela about Jake's condition. (00:27:26)
Factual error: Grace sings "Precious Lord Take My Hand." The song wasn't written until the 1930s.
