Mr. Bean Rides Again - S1-E9

Factual error: Bean is seen connecting a set of jump leads to two large brass-like electrodes in a lighting column. These would never be present in real life - especially with so much conductive material on show.

The Trouble With Mr. Bean - S1-E8

Continuity mistake: In the sketch where Mr Bean drives to the dentist, there is a part where he starts to dress himself. If you look out of the window, the scenery keeps changing dramatically. In some shots he is driving along a single lane carriageway with buildings on the sides and in other shots he his driving along a dual carriageway with no buildings on the sides, all while he is getting dressed.

Mr. Bean Rides Again - S1-E9

Visible crew/equipment: In the opening scene of the episode, Mr. Bean goes around various places of his mini to get keys. During these actions, the camera pans with him. The cameraman's reflection is seen a few times during the pans in windows and sides of cars. He is wearing a checkered shirt and a green jacket. (00:00:55 - 00:01:40)

Tee Off, Mr. Bean - S1-E17

Audio problem: When Mr. Bean is at the Putt-Putt golf course, he watches a little boy trying to hit the ball. As the boy hits the ball with his club, the sound of the club hitting the ball comes three seconds after he hits the ball. (00:14:05)

Goodnight, Mr. Bean - S1-E18

Revealing mistake: When Mr. Bean goes back to the hospital desk clerk, and she asks him to take a number and then he does and throws the ticket in the bin and he gets the bin stuck on his hand. But you can plainly see that he is just holding onto the bin. (00:08:30)

The Library - S1-E3

Revealing mistake: When Mr Bean's book falls apart, he tries putting the book back together, and he holds one page up to the camera and it has a slight reflection as if it is glossy paper. As far as I know old books like the one Mr Bean had don't have pages like that. It's an obviously fake book.

Do-It-Yourself Mr. Bean - S1-E13

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Mr. Bean is on the roof of his car in the armchair, he has a brick in front of the tire. When he is ready to go he pulls it away and drops it. But as he drives away you can see in the background that the brick has disappeared. (00:12:15)

Mr. Bean Rides Again - S1-E9

Revealing mistake: In the train scene when Mr. Bean plugs his ears with his socks you can see that he didn't use the ones he was actually wearing before. Once he took them off he placed them in front of him but reached slightly to his right for the ones he plugged in his ears. Also those where still flat like after ironing them and didn't look worn at all.

Tee Off, Mr. Bean - S1-E17

Visible crew/equipment: When Mr. Bean takes The Bus Stop sign as he drives away with another person, when the camera turns, you can see the cameraman in a yellow jacket ducking down in the bottom of the back window. Also, you can see an old man in a hat watching the filming. He is over by the tree reflected in the window. (00:16:50)

Do-It-Yourself Mr. Bean - S1-E13

Revealing mistake: At the end when Mr. Bean blows up the paint and it splatters all over the walls in his apartment, he comes back in and his doorknob is covered in wet white paint which he pushes shut. Only problem is that when he pulls his fingers back, there is no wet paint whatsoever on them. (00:23:30)

Trivia: The Latin lyrics used at the beginning are "Ecce homo qui est farba, qui est farba, qui est farba", which mean "Behold the man who is a bean". At the end, it's identical, but "Ecce" is changed to "Vale"; "Farewell, man who is a bean." Before and after the advert break (in the UK version), the lyrics are "Fin de partie primae" and "Pars secunda" - "End of Part One" and "Part Two".

Mr. Bean Goes To Town - S1-E6

Question: In the first act when Bean can only get a decent TV signal by sitting in a certain part of the room, we can hear the soundtrack of a programme "on" Bean's TV. Does anybody know what programme Bean was trying to watch please?

Neil Jones

Answer: Don't think it was an actual programme; more likely just sounds they recorded themselves.
