Question: Why does Homer's mouth look so weird? Almost ape like, it's like it's a separate piece of his face.

Quantom X Premium member

Chosen answer: That is Homer's beard, or beard stubble. A similar effect was used for Fred Flinstone.

Question: In the later seasons, why is Moe trying to kill himself (mainly the Christmas episodes)?

Answer: Simple, he's always depressed this time of year. He's ugly, he's alone and getting older. Christmas is the worst time of year to be all of all the above. That's why he tries to off himself every Christmas, and lucky for us he fails.

Question: Why does Sideshow Bob not want to pursue Lisa since, if it hadn't been for her pointing out to Bart all the major flaws in the CCTV footage that would show that it couldn't have been Krusty (in Krusty Gets Busted), he wouldn't have been found out by Bart and Lisa? He knows Lisa is smarter than Bart, so surely he would have realised that Lisa was the brains behind the detective work that got him caught.

Answer: Lisa often gets taken in with the others that Bob has reformed each time. Bart, on the other hand, always suspects him of evil right away. (And is generally right, making him good arch-foe material.)

Question: Does anyone know the title of the episode where Homer is on the phone and starts singing, "I left my cake out in the LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA"?

Answer: I think you are thinking of the episode Co-Dependents Day. Homer has been put on hold while trying to call the rehab clinic. The line I believe you are thinking of appears to be "And the Wichita lineman is still on the li-li-li-li-li-li-li-li-li-li-li-li-line".

Question: In what episode does the line, "All this makes me wonder why the Hell I should care", come from and who says it?

Answer: The exact line is "Just the thought of all that raw power makes me wonder why the hell I should care.". It is said by Sideshow Bob in the episode "Brother from Another Series", which is the episode where Sideshow Bob's brother Cecil moves to Springfield and builds a hydroelectricity dam.

Question: In one of the episodes with clip shows, Troy McClure said that there would be a little green alien that only Homer could see and hear. I know this was a joke, but has the alien ever appeared in any other episodes?

Answer: No, this refers to "The Flintstones," in which Fred occasionally saw such an alien.

Question: Is the name Homer short for something else?

Answer: It's not, no. It is, however, the name of Matt Groening's real dad, which is why he named the father of the Simpsons' Homer.

Question: What animal was the Ribwich sandwich at Krusty's restaurant made from?

Answer: Unknown. All that is known about the animal is that it was smaller and had more legs than a cow. But it must be some kind of insect since that is the only group of animals where some of the species have more than four legs.

Question: How can Flanders afford stuff like a huge boat and a motorhome if he doesn't make a lot of money?

Answer: From time to time he has explained his above average income has come from a variety of reasons. First of all he has mentioned from time to time of other business ventures he has been involved. At one time he was doing advertisements when he shaved his moustache and another he was trading in religious website store. Secondly the Leftorium that he runs has had his highs and lows which would explain why he can sometimes afford more expensive items. Thirdly he seems to be quite clever when it comes to saving and business. For example he showed Homer about the Mega Savers course that showed about how to buy more expensive items at lower prices.

Question: How come Sideshow Bob only wants to kill Bart? In "Krusty Gets Busted", Bart and Lisa together investigated the crime and concluded that Krusty was framed. So Sideshow Bob should be going after Lisa too.

Answer: Essentially Bart was the main figure behind Sideshow Bob being arrested and convicated. While Lisa helped Bart gather some of the clues, it only lead them to the theory that someone else was behind the robbery. It wasn't until Bart noticed the size of Bob's feet compared to Krusty's feet that he discovered it was Bob who framed Krusty.

Question: Has any episode revealed what Marge's natural haircolor is? In the flashbacks in "The Way We Weren't", she is shown as a child with blue hair, and it turns brown when another girl burns it. However, I saw another episode where she walks past her mirror, notices a brown spot of hair showing, then picks up a can and sprays blue to cover it up.

Answer: I would have to assume that the everchanging answers to many questions of the characters in the show means there isn't any definitive answer to this question. However in the episode when Homer is teaching a "Secrets to a successful marriage" class he mentions that she dyes her hair blue because she has been grey as a mule for a long time. Later on Marge questions Homer about why he revealed she dyed her hair.

Question: So far, how many siblings (including half-siblings) do we know that Homer has? I can only think of the episode in which his brother gives him a chair, and another one in which a woman who looks like Homer is looking for her long-lost father at an airport, and is seen by Abe.

Answer: Homer has two half siblings, both from his father. Herbert Powell and his half sister in England.

Question: Did anything happen to either of Marge's parents? We almost never see or hear from them, especially her father.

Answer: Marge's mother, Jacqueline Bouvier, has appeared in several episodes, notably "Lady Bouvier's Lover" where she dated both Abe Simpson and Mr Burns. Her father appeared in the episode "Fear of Flying" where Marge revealed that her fear of flying was due to the shame of her father being a flight attendant. It was mentioned in "Bart the Lover" that after leaving the Navy, his swearing almost cost him his job as a baby photographer. Both Marge's parents appear in the flashback episode "The Way We Was" when both Homer and Artie Ziff arrive to take Marge to the prom.

Question: Does anyone actually know what happened to Dr. Marvin Monroe?

Answer: It has never been been revealed what happened to Marvin Monroe, only that he died and his tombstone was the first time there had been any mention of him. Monroe had never been an popular character and perhaps the tombstone would put to rest what had happened to him. In a fairly recent episode he reappeared and when asked about what had happened to him and he mentioned he had been very sick.

Continuity mistake: This is a mistake for the introduction from seasons 2-20 (1991-2009). When Homer screams, he turns round. You see this in a wide shot. There are no boxes to the right of the door in the garage. However, two just appear out of thin air when he runs through the garage. (00:01:50)
