Dawson's Creek

The Kids Are Alright (1) - S6-E1

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the episode, Joey is shown refunding her Paris ticket. The shot is from Season 5 Finale, and her hair is tucked back behind both ears and darker. The next shot of her, the hair is suddenly much lighter, wavier and hanging in front of her ears. Obviously this was shot in Season 6. (00:00:10)

Sleeping Arrangements - S5-E12

Continuity mistake: When Joey is talking to Elliot in the classroom, she bends over her desk and gathers all her hair in front of her left shoulder. But in the next shot of her, you can see that her hair is suddenly in front of both shoulders. The transition was too quick to be realistic. (00:06:45)

100 Light Years From Home - S5-E19

Plot hole: When Chris arrives at the beach house, and invites everyone to the MTV concert a few blocks away; he tells them to follow him there implying that he can get them in free with his 'clout' as a movie star. But later during the first song, Joey and Charlie arrive walking up the stairs from the beach apparently just coming from the beach house. They walk right in to the concert area - no problem. But how would they get in without Chris? They didn't have tickets, and Chris wasn't with them to usher them in. It wasn't likely an event open to the entire general public; as it would be too crowded, and not just the younger people MTV audience for TV.

Late - S4-E19

Plot hole: Right after Gail has her baby, Joey finally gets a very important phone call from Pacey. It's unrealistic to their characters that Joey wouldn't mention anything about Gail having her baby to Pacey during that phone call, as it was rather a momentous event.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - S4-E9

Continuity mistake: When Jen and Jack are talking in her room, Jack asks "Have you finished your applications yet?" Jen is rubbing her hands together in front of her. But the next shot, suddenly Jen's arms are stretched back behind her. Too sudden to be a realistic transition.

Cinderella Story - S3-E17

Revealing mistake: When Joey and Pacey are talking in the car as Pacey drives them to the Train Station, you can see at least 3 lanes full of cars and a great deal of traffic behind them. But when Pacey suddenly turns right, off the main road and into the entrance to the Train Station; you can see that suddenly the main road he has just turned off of is almost completely empty of any traffic in either direction, except a truck that drives by at the last minute. It also appears to be a smaller road. Apparently the scenes with their dialogue in the car were shot with background video that wasn't the actual location.

Sex and Violence - S6-E17

Continuity mistake: When Joey and Pacey are arguing in his office, there is a close-up of Joey with noticable hair strands hanging off both sides of her face. The next shot of her, the hair strand on the left side of her face is suddenly gone, and her hair is tucked behind the ear on that side. This entire time Joey has been leaning forward on Pacey's desk, her arms supporting her. The next shot of her, the hair strand on the right side of her face is gone. But the next shot, both hair strands are magically back. (00:32:20)

Coming Home - S4-E1

Plot hole: Dawson and Jen are in a small 'darkroom', developing photos and speaking at a normal level. This darkroom is located just behind the main stairs, and very close to the living room where Dawson's parents are 'getting busy'. Therefore, the parents normally would have heard their voices so close to them, and known they were in the house and not been so surprised by them.

Love Bites - S6-E18

Plot hole: At the end of the episode, Joey takes a taxi from Boston to Eddie's house in Worcestor. As she walks up to the front door, the cab leaves. Eddie has no idea Joey is coming, and she has no way to return to Boston without using a cab or asking Eddie for a ride. But she doesn't even know yet if Eddie is home, and whether he would offer to drive her home. Seems illogical for Joey to dismiss the cab without asking the cab driver to wait a few moments while she sees if Eddie is home, and if he would be willing to drive her back to Boston. Otherwise, she would have to ask his parents to use the phone to call another cab. (00:38:45)

Sex and Violence - S6-E17

Continuity mistake: When Pacey and Joey suddenly start kissing in Pacey's office, Joey's hair is still tied up on top of her head. They turn and fall on the couch, and Joey's hair is suddenly completely loose and long beneath her. At no point during this transition did anyone touch or undo her hair. (00:33:10)

True Love - S3-E23

Factual error: When Joey is driving the light blue pick-up truck, Doug pulls her over to tell her Pacey is leaving town. Right before she pulls over, in her close-up there is a sticker on the lower corner of the driver's side windshield, which looks like it could be the North Carolina State Safety Inspection sticker (small square decal with a yellow emblem in the center, and blue writing along the top and down both sides of the decal), as opposed to a Massachusetts inspection sticker (which would be on the passenger side). (00:07:25)

A Weekend in the Country - S3-E12

Plot hole: The morning after everyone stayed at the Potter B&B, there is a fun kitchen scene showing all the kids dancing together preparing breakfast. Andie seems to be making pancakes. Yet later at breakfast, Joey finds out that Bodie has come back and is the reason the pancakes taste so good. Apparently he was the chef that morning, but he is nowhere in sight during the breakfast-making scene. So if all the kids are cooking - where is Bodie? Wasn't he supposed to make the pancakes?

Suggested correction: Bodie didn't make the pancakes (at least not all of them) it was his recipe.

None of the Above - S3-E3

Plot hole: When Dawson and Eve are in the PSAT room After Hours, looking for the test, a security guard suddenly comes in. They both have time to duck under a desk and avoid being seen, but as soon as the guard passes them, they start talking in rather loud whispers. The guard is still very close to them, as he quickly returns to walk past them going the other way. It seems reckless for them to be talking like that with the security guard so close at hand who would normally hear them, and so soon after he walks by them.

Falling Down - S4-E2

Continuity mistake: At the end of the episode, when Pacey is telling Joey about his school problems; her hair changes dramatically between shots. Just as she says, "Whatever it takes, we're gonna fix it", her hair is blown back off her right shoulder, away from her face with only the hair ends resting on her shoulder. The next shot of Joey, as she says, "I'm not going anywhere without you", her hair is suddenly down in front of her right shoulder, and close to her face again. When Pacey asks her, "Joey?" and she replies, "Yeah?", her hair is still fully down by her face on the right side, in front of her right shoulder. But then the next shot of Joey when she says, "I'm not that much smarter, Pace", her hair is suddenly swept far back off her right shoulder, away from her face with the hair ends resting on her shoulder again. It looks like they filmed this scene two different ways, and edited it together.

True Love - S3-E23

Revealing mistake: During this scene Joey is running from the wedding to find Pacey. There is a young couple dressed in light blue, standing on the left side of the scene. The man appears to turn his head and see Katie Holmes running towards them, and puts his arm around the woman next to him and directs her across the grass over to the right. They both sort of suddenly run over to the right in order to clear the way for Katie to keep running straight through the area. It's obvious they moved intentionally so as to get out of her way, knowing the actress was about to run by them. (00:34:20)

100 Light Years From Home - S5-E19

Audio problem: When the band M to M is performing at the MTV concert, the girls start singing a song that requires a very tight harmony. During the entire time they are singing together, the camera shows close-ups of both girls. But at one point, they show the second girl with the guitar simply smiling and looking up. She is *not* singing at all, yet the song continues to have both their voices in the harmony. The rest of the bandmembers are male, and the harmony was formed by the two female lead singers. (00:13:30)

None of the Above - S3-E3

Plot hole: When Dawson suddenly shows up at Joey's workplace, Joey is inside asleep at the desk and Pacey is awake sitting outside. As Pacey and Dawson start fighting verbally, their voices escalate loudly but Joey still doesn't wake up even though she's sitting right inside. It isn't until they start throwing punches at each other and fighting physically that Joey suddenly comes running out to see what is going on. It doesn't seem realistic that Joey would be able to sleep through their loud arguing, and not wake up until they are hitting each other. If she had woken up before that, she would have definitely come outside to see what Dawson and Pacey were up to.

High Anxiety - S5-E6

Continuity mistake: When Charlie's two girlfriends play along in his dorm room, their positions change back and forth from close together to about a foot apart between shots. (00:24:30 - 00:25:00)

Something Wild - S5-E11

Audio problem: When Dawson goes into his bedroom to talk to Jen, he tells her that he had an entire "impassionate" speech to tell her. It sounds like he fumbled his dialogue, and meant to say either "impassioned" or "passionate," but got the words mixed up in his head and ended up blending them together. (00:33:40)

Jen: Do you remember when you were ten and your Mom wouldn't get you that candy bar that you really, really wanted? Didn't you ever just... Swipe it?
Dawson: No.

Pilot (aka Emotions in Motion) - S1-E1

Trivia: There was an alternate scene filmed for the Pilot Presentation, where Tamara is first introduced in the Video Store with Pacey and Dawson. In this alternate scene; the location was an actual Video Store located in Southport, about 50 miles away from Wilmington, NC. They decided to reshoot the scene using a smaller Video Store in Wilmington that didn't look like a chain. Once the show was picked up for a Series, they needed a Video Store location that they could use easily every week. Also, in the alternate scene Tamara is wearing a more conservative outfit of black that covered her quite a bit. They put her in a much sexier dress for the aired version. Tamara's wardrobe and the location were changed to give a better tone to the show.

...Must Come to an End (2) - S6-E24

Question: The ending scene of the Series Finale shows Joey and Pacey apparently living together in a high-rise apartment. The TV looks the same as her NYC apartment, and there is a beautiful window view of lighted high-rise buildings and a harbor or bay. The question is - is this Boston or NYC? Are they living in her previous NYC apartment, or did they find a new place together in nearby Boston? It looked to me more like Boston, but Pacey had just started his restaurant business in Capeside and that is an hour away. Where are they living at the end of the series? It was vague to me.

Answer: It's the same apartment Joey had in NYC. Comparing it to the beginning of the Finale; you can tell it's exactly the same location, furnishings, Plasma TV etc. Apparently Chris was only living with her at HER apartment, and now Pacey has taken his place at the end. I guess this implies Pacey successfully started his own restaurant business in NYC as he had dreamed, to be with Joey.
