The End - S1-E1

Stoke Me A Clipper - S7-E2

Backwards - S3-E1

Plot hole: In the episode 'Backwards' most of the things that happen on 'Backwards Earth' are correct, except, of course, in reverse. But there is an exception: in the scene in the Cafe, when the waitress comes to 'dirty' the table, she tips a box of trash on the table. If you play this scene backwards, the trash leaps from the table into the box. Even on a 'backwards earth' I can't believe that trash spontaneously leaps about... (00:09:30)

Tikka To Ride - S7-E1

Plot hole: In the last series, a point was made that the time drive is not a teleporter, so can only send them backward and forward in time in the one location (Deep Space). So in this episode, how can they now travel to Earth with the same device?

Back in the Red (3) - S8-E3

Continuity mistake: When the crew are plasticine in the screensaver, the Cat slides into the igloo. From one shot he is sliding towards the igloo from an angle, but in the next shot he is heading straight for the igloo. (00:14:55)

Better Than Life - S2-E2

Continuity mistake: When Rimmer is standing on the beach and conjures up the green car you can see the wheels are partly in the sand. When he then gets into the car, tyre tracks are visible behind it. When he starts driving off, the tyre marks are now gone. (00:18:25)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: The time that the events involving the crew of Red Dwarf keeps changing throughout the series. At various times, references are made to the date, which is stated as being in the 21st, 22nd or 23rd centuries. Examples: In 'Stasis Leak', the date reference is stated as being 2077 (21st century). But in 'Ouroboros', the date is stated as being 26th November 2155 (22nd century). Also in 'DNA', Lister says he is an enlightened 23rd century guy.

The End - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: When Petersen is trying to knock the coin from his head, the next shot shows Rimmer studying his arm. In the background, Petersen is seen with his right arm on the table, whereas in the wide shot it was behind his head. (00:10:20)

Dwarf

Nanarchy - S7-E8

Lister: What, they fixed your core program and then decided they'd be better off without you?
Holly: Yeah, it was shortly after they met me.

Meltdown - S4-E6

Trivia: "Meltdown" was originally planned to be the first episode of Series IV of Red Dwarf. However, the militaristic tone of this episode - and in particular Dave Lister's strident anti-war speech near The End of the episode - meant it fell foul of the BBC censors. The original planned transmission date (Feb 14 1991) coincided with the outbreak of "Operation Desert Storm" - the Gulf War...and the BBC felt that an "anti-war" episode of Red Dwarf would be inappropriate for a country at war with Iraq.

Kryten - S2-E1

Question: When Holly is saying about how he has changed music he says that because of the 2 new notes he's made instruments would be bigger. "Triangles will have four sides. Piano keyboards the length of zebra crossings. Course, women will have to be banned from playing the cello." I don't understand the joke about the cello part. Could someone please tell me what he means?

Answer: The cello is a large four-stringed instrument, which, when it is played, stands vertically on the floor between the player's legs (assuming they are seated). If it is to grow as large as the other instuments mentioned will, it would require a rather unseemly lack of femininity to be able to encompass it with the legs.
