Band of Brothers

Season 1 generally

Factual error: The British paratroop commander is a brigadier-general. The British Army abolished the rank of brigadier-general in 1922 and replaced it with brigadier in 1928. A brigadier is not a general and does not wear a general officer's cap badge.

Currahee - S1-E1

Factual error: David Webster is shown to be training as part of Easy Company and is present among their number when Lt Meehan informs them that the invasion has been postponed. Webster actually trained with Fox Company and made the jump into Normandy as a member of the Battalion Headquarters Company. He transferred to Easy Company after D-Day.

Currahee - S1-E1

Factual error: In the scene at the end of Part 1 where the aircraft are taking off on June 5 1944, as the camera pulls out to show the many aircraft rolling down the tarmac, the first aircraft shows the pilot wearing a pale green headset remarkably similar to a David Clark headset. However, the Clark company didn't start producing headsets until after the war.

Carentan - S1-E3

Factual error: In this episode we see Blithe get shot in the neck and are told that he died in 1948. In reality he was shot in the shoulder and survived. He later served in Korea and was promoted to master sergeant as well as receiving the paratrooper of the year award. Blithe died in 1967 while on active duty in Germany.

Replacements - S1-E4

Factual error: Miller states he got a "Presidential Unit Citation" ribbon as part of the Normandy landings. However until Jan 1957, it was called a Distinguished Unit Citation. (00:07:30)

The Patrol - S1-E8

Factual error: When Malarkey and Jones are talking at the window, you can see a shot of the village Haguenau. Actually it is almost the same set-up of Foy again. Refer to the church. (00:15:35)

Why We Fight - S1-E9

Factual error: Private Webster is holding the baker and pointing his 45 caliber pistol on the baker's throat. A 3-dot (white) sight system can be seen on his pistol. The 3-dot sight system appeared either in the late 1970's or early 1980's. (00:46:15)
