Continuity mistake: At bedtime, while we hear Marge singing to Lisa in her bedroom Bart is lying in his bed, and on Bart's nightstand beside the door there's a framed photo of Krusty and an alarm clock, but in the next closeup the photo has vanished and instead there's a Krusty telephone. Other mistake: Right before Homer and Bart head to the concert, Homer has the high-pitched ringing in his ears while Marge is talking. Then just as Homer says, "I hear you. C'mon, boy," note Selma's and Patty's skin over their scoop necklines are not colored in properly, it's the same color as their dresses. (00:01:45)

Continuity mistake: When Homer stands outside the Bouvier house to pick up Marge, the home's front door has three diagonal windows from upper left to lower right. However, when Marge gets home later after the prom, the three windows are diagonal the opposite way from upper right to lower left. (00:16:10 - 00:21:00)

Continuity mistake: While Otto plays the guitar at 3:00 AM, the tuning keys on the guitar head are first facing down, then the guitar head flips and the tuning keys are facing up, between shots. (00:15:45)

Continuity mistake: The door to Mrs. Krabappel's classroom has a window, but when Bart fakes being sick then walks out of the class (we see the desks as the door closes), the door's window has vanished, and the doorknob has switched sides as well. Additionally, earlier, when Bart deliberately falls off his chair in class, note that one of the bars on the back of his chair has gone missing. (00:07:35)

Character mistake: When Bart fakes being sick, on his way to the infirmary he passes the door with a sign that reads "maintanence" but the proper spelling is "maintenance", and when Bart reaches the infirmary, the sign on the door reads "ineirmary." (00:07:30)

Continuity mistake: When Bart fails the test despite having actually studied, we see the two red "X" marks in the center row of the multiple choice questions, but after Mrs. Krabappel passes Bart because he applied practical knowledge, when Homer hangs the test up on the fridge those two "X" marks in the center have vanished.

Continuity mistake: In "The Thing and I": After the kids have found Hugo in the attic, when Marge and Homer return home, both front door knobs (inside and outside) do not have backplates, but once Hugo escapes both door knobs have backplates. The two backplates vanish and reappear repeatedly in following shots. It's funny because when they leave to search for Hugo, Homer shuts the door with no backplates, but then Bart uses a key in the backplate to lock The Front door.

Continuity mistake: At Moe's, when Homer takes hold of the telephone its color is red, but then changes to blue as he speaks to Marge. (00:02:30)
