Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the Mexico race, Herbie's passenger door is smashed in; yet for the remainder of the scene, his door is fine.

Memphis Belle (1990)

Factual error: When Lt. Col Derringer (John Lithgow) is introducing the crew of the Belle at the beginning of the film, he describes Rascal as being 18 years old. Yet he holds the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6), a rank usually achieved after at least 5-6 years of military service. Same can be said for Eugene, who is described as being 19 years old, who also is a Staff Sergeant.

Squid Game (2021)

VIPS - S1-E7

Revealing mistake: The Front Man draws his 1911 pistol when he suspects the police officer is in the penthouse. When he does, you can see a hex screw and a brass valve on the bottom of the magazine of the pistol. This would indicate it to be an Airsoft replica. (00:03:41)

Men in Black (1997)

Other mistake: Jensen (U.S. Army West Point Officer) addresses himself as a Second Lieutenant, but upon closer inspection of his rank (bars on his shoulders), they are Silver. Silver bars indicate a 1st Lieutenant, Gold indicates a 2nd.

Full Metal Jacket (1987)

Factual error: Most of the Marines before and during the Hue City offensive, are wearing black leather combat boots. By 1968, these would've been mostly if not completely replaced by the jungle boot for Marines and soldiers in Vietnam.

The Green Mile (1999)

Audio problem: When John Coffey is found, a Sheriff holds a double barrelled shotgun to his throat, and a clicking sound is heard when it's done. It's presumed it's him cocking back the hammers on the shotgun, but if you look closely, it's a hammerless shotgun.

Revealing mistake: When Frank and his wife Eva step out of the chapel after getting married, it cuts to a crowd of photographers. In the background, several modern minivans drive by, including a white one with AVIS written on it.

Face/Off (1997)

Factual error: In reality, a face transplant like this couldn't work for multiple reasons. Primarily because of blood type, with Castor (Cage) being AB and Sean (Travolta) being O Negative. Organ donors and recipients need to have the same exact blood type for transplants to work, otherwise the recipient's body will reject it even with medication. In addition, intensive surgery is needed to connect a donor face to a recipient (ex. Connect blood vessels), which takes more than several hours.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows mistake picture

Factual error: When Watson is pinned down by Moran at the arms factory in Germany, he hides behind a large artillery piece. He looks around and sees a pair of hearing protection. They appear to be modern hearing protection ear muffs, wrapped with cloth to make them look period. They have plastic clips to detach the ear cups from the metal band, which gives them away as being modern. They appear to be Peltor style hearing protection.

The Rookie (2018)

Redwood - S1-E11

Factual error: During the LAPD gun exchange program, an explosion happens from (according to the show) claymore mines being in the trunk of a car. In reality, this wouldn't happen as Claymore Mines are very stable and safe. The explosive used, C-4, is shock stable and temperature stable. The mine will only go off when used with a detonator.

True Lies (1994)

Revealing mistake: When Aziz (Art Malik) goes flying stuck to the missile, you can see a blue harness under his shirt just before he hits the helicopter. Only noticeable in the close up shot of his face and body.

True Lies (1994)

Revealing mistake: When Aziz (Art Malik) shoots at Harry (Arnold) in the bathroom, he has a rifle with two magazines taped together. If you look closely, the second magazine taped next to the one in the gun is empty. He then reloads the gun by flipping the second, empty, magazine and loading it.

Matdan97

Revealing mistake: Towards the end of the film when Simon and his men are found by McClane (Willis) and Zeus (Jackson), Simon's men can be seen taking MP5K submachine guns. The guns are actually Daisy MP5K Airsoft replicas. At one point, a man "pumps" the forward grip of the gun to cock it. Indicating it as an airsoft gun and not a real submachine gun.

Death Wish II (1982)

Revealing mistake: When Kersey tries to shoot Wilson at the hospital, he lifts up the table to knock his gun away from him. Kersey fires a shot at the table when it moves up, but a hole doesn't appear in the table. This indicates the gun was loaded with blanks (obviously) and no other effects were done for the scene.

The Impossible Astronaut - S6-E2

Lethal Weapon (2016)

Spilt Milk - S1-E5

Factual error: In Chad Jackson's resume, it says he was assigned to "SEAL Team Delta." Navy SEAL teams are ranked by number (ex. SEAL Team 3, 10, etc.), there is no such unit called SEAL Team Delta.

Hollow Man (2000)

Factual error: When we first see Caine (Bacon) enter the military base, there are Willy's Jeeps used by military personnel. By the year 2000, the Willy's Jeep was long-since replaced in the U.S. Military by the HUMVEE, which we also see in the film.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: It's not a Willy's jeep. It's a Ford M151 Mutt, which was still in occasional use at the time of filming.

LorgSkyegon

Factual error: When Grace first shoots the Rev-9 Terminator, she is using a Winchester Pump Shotgun with a long magazine tube. She however fires 13 rounds at the Terminator, while the shotgun is only able to hold a maximum of between 7-8 shells in the magazine tube.
