Factual error: When the helicopter comes into the village after Brownie is shot, it is shown displaying the red cross, as well as door machine guns. As a medevac operating under the protection of the red cross, it can't be armed. If it was a dustoff, that would be fine as dustoff choppers are called in as the closest unit to evacuate a casualty is still a combatant aircraft. Since it has the red cross on it, it is not considered to be a combatant and can't be armed.

The Patriot (2000)

Continuity mistake: When the movie begins it is 1776 and that is when Gabriel enlists in the Continental Army. In his letter home he mentions the fall of Charleston, which occurred in 1780. After Benjamin gets his commission as a colonel after the pitched battle, Gabriel states that he has been a soldier for 2 years. That would put the formation of the militia in 1778, 2 years before Charleston was captured by the British.

Other mistake: Right after Danny gets shot, Red shoots a Japanese soldier point blank. He has the barrel of his pistol pointed about in line with the soldiers right breast, but the wound is actually lower in the body than where the gun was aimed (bottom of the ribcage).
