Question: This movie is based off an old urban legend with the same circumstances involved. But there were two endings to the original legend that we've heard. In one, the babysitter lives, in the other, she dies. Can anyone confirm which one was the original?

Answer: I don't think it is possable to know which one came first since the origins of the legend are not known, but here is a good link that might give you some info. http://www.snopes.com/horrors/madmen/babysit.htm.

Answer: It's based on the murder of Janet Christman in the 50's - she was attacked and killed while babysitting. She called the police, but they didn't make it, she was found by the parents dead on the floor, right next to the phone.

Question: What did Miller mean when he said, "Give me Rieben on B.A.R."? What is "B.A.R."?

Answer: The BAR is the Browning Automatic Rifle; it was the automatic rifle of this area for US forces, when he says, "Give me Rieben on B.A.R." he is picking squad members, he would want people with certain specialties in the squad, a medic, a sniper, a demolitions expert, a automatic rifleman, which is the BAR, etc.

Independence Day (1996)

Question: This seemed like a couple of mistakes, but I'm not a technology expert: First of all, if the aliens are interfering with Earth's satellites, how are cellphones able to work [so well]? Secondly, how is Dave able to triangulate Connie's position? He sticks some kind of device on his roof, and presumably uses a satellite. Regardless of the satellite problem, I thought triangulation (as the name implies) needed at least three points for determining location.

Answer: Cell phones do not use satellites, they use towers on the ground in each area and land lines to link each area. So as long as the towers and lan lines are still there the cell phones will work. He triangulates her position using a signal from the cell towers on earth, and you do need 3 points, but those points are just 3 towers on earth, no satellites involved.

Some films were shot in areas where there are so-called "right-to-work" laws or not supported by the Screen Actors Guild (SAG). Why do some productions do not want to be associated with SAG or labor laws?

Onesimos

Question: Did Joey ever mention moving to L.A. or did he just move and not tell anyone? Moving to the other side of the country is pretty much bigger than anyone else's reason for splitting up the group, surely?

Answer: We never saw what happened after the last episode of friends, we do not know how much time passed between that last episode and Joey's move. I assume at some point after the last episode of friends he decided to move to LA, and I am sure he told everyone at some point. If you remember he was kind of depressed that all of his friends where married and starting families, I am sure this helped him decide to move.

American Wedding (2003)

Question: Hey, does anyone know why Oz didn't make it into this movie? I may have missed some spot in the plot which tells why but I dunno. Thanks.

Answer: They never mentioned it, I think they just wanted us to assume that since it has been a few years they just lost touch with each other. Alot of people are no longer friends with poeple after college that they where friends with when college started.

pross79

Answer: In-movie, there was a scene where Jim stated that he spoke to Oz in Spain, where he was with Heather, and he wouldn't be able to make the wedding. However, that scene did not make the final cut. Real-world answer; the producers and writers just didn't include the character (among several others from the first two that weren't in this one, including Vicky, Heather, Sherman, and Nadia, to name a few). There was a rumor going around the internet that it was a scheduling conflict, but Chris Klein clarified that he would have done it if asked.

Braveheart (1995)

Question: When Robert the Bruce is talking to the nobles at the begining of the movie, what is the significance of him seeing his dad up above on the balcony and saying that his dad couldn't be there in person, but sends his regards?

Answer: The significance is that his Dad is not away on business he is very sick and hiding. I would imagine both he and his dad think that their position would weakened if the other nobles new his dad was sick and probably going to die soon.

Question: I don't know anything about football and the college drafting process, but isn't odd that the QB from the Odessa Panthers did not receive some kind of college scholarship? After all, he was theoretically the 2nd best QB in the state, as his team made it to the State playoff game, even if they ended up losing.

Answer: In the movie he was being recruited by the fake school, I forget the name something Kansas. And at the end it said that he played football for Baylor, so I think he did get a scholarship. But in many cases just because a player is on a good team does not mean he has what it takes to play at the next level, there is a big difference between high school and college. For instance you could be the starting QB on a State Championship team, but the team is mainly a running team, and almost never passes, or you are a running QB who almost never throws the ball, you might be really successful in High School, but not have any of the skills to play QB college.

pross79

Winchell never received a scholarship despite setting records at Permian. He was known for choking up in tight games, which could be the reason he never got recruited. He played at Baylor his freshman year but was not successful. He's the best QB Permian ever had and maybe west Texas.

Answer: Winchell also choked up the last game against Lee and three four consecutive incomplete passes to win.

Question: Why does Napoleon, who appears to be a junior or senior in high school, ride the bus with a bunch of little kids?

Answer: Because it is such a small town that the school system can not afford buses for grade level so they have to share them, plus it has comedic value as well.

pross79

Small town schools are usually K-12. The other older "cooler" students drive to school or get ride with their friends.

The 6th Day (2000)

Question: What was the whole point of killing and cloning the charter pilots in the first place? My first thought was that Decker wanted employees that were totally obedient and demanded no pay (after all, the clones would only have five years to live, and would then have to be cloned again), but considering that each cloning cost $1,3 million, it would be a lot cheaper and less risky to hire the pilots regularly. So why kill them?

Twotall

Chosen answer: The company did not intend to kill and clone the pilots. The activist killed Drucker and Hank Morgan, they wanted to clone everyone that was killed so nobody would know it happened. The only reason they cloned Arnold was becasue they thought he was the pilot.

Forrest Gump (1994)

Question: In Vietnam when Forrest is introducing the other men in his group telling their names and where they are from, all the soldiers names are names of cities. This was obviously done on purpose but why?

Answer: When people from different places are put togther into groups they usually giver eachother nicknames, this is particularly true in the military, and a lot of times your nickmane would just be where you are from, if you do not have some other characteristic, or your name does not rhyme or sound like some other word.

pross79

Answer: The nicknames are given to Forrest's troop mates are given in a racial way or by how they act although they are not from that city. For example Dallas had a farmers tan and always had a pack of smokes referencing to chuck Norris in one of his films taking place in the same time period and same helmet that was filmed just outside of Dallas and was also filmed there.
