The Crowd Roars (1932)

Factual error: In the opening shots, Joe's crew works on his race car inside the train's closed, moving boxcar. They rev the engine and make clouds of exhaust, causing one mechanic to cough and complain about the fumes. He should be doing more than just complaining. In fact, they should all be keeling over. Car engines create carbon monoxide gas, which in an enclosed space is deadly. (00:04:00)

Ragtime (1981)

Factual error: When the Police Commissioner is negotiating with Coalhouse Walker Jr. over the phone, the earpiece hook on the phone is in the off position.

Ragtime (1981)

Factual error: Sarah tries to talk to "Vice President Fairbanks" during his campaign stop at the train depot. The movie is set in 1906, which wasn't an election year. Fairbanks ran for VP on Theodore Roosevelt's ticket in 1904, but he was a senator at the time, not the standing vice president. Roosevelt had no VP during his first term. He succeeded the assassinated William McKinley, and never appointed a VP.

Ragtime (1981)

Factual error: In the train station crowd scene, there are 50-star flags being waved by people on the platform. In 1906, there were only 46 states.

The Legacy - S1-E15

Factual error: Reel-to-reel tape recorders were threaded left-to-right and pulled the tape in a L-R direction. The machine playing Briggs' assignment in the opening sequence, however, is running backwards. It also changes to a different reel and a different machine when he removes the finished tape from the wrong side of the recorder. (00:02:00)

The Legacy - S1-E15

Factual error: For supposedly being Hitler's heirs, the three conspirators are pretty lousy Nazis. None of them notices that on their copy of their idol's book, Mein Kampf, Der Fuhrer's name is prominently misspelled "Adolph" instead of "Adolf." (00:13:00)

Factual error: Just after the British flag is raised over the British garrison's camp, we see an interior shot of Brig. General Maitland's field office. There are no American forces involved in this conflict, but at the far right of the screen (visible in widescreen format), the flag hanging behind his desk is, inexplicably, the American Stars and Stripes instead of the British Union Jack. The Clash - S1-E20

Factual error: The sea plane that lands to rescue Savage at the end is a type not built until after the war. And it's marked "U.S. Air Force," an entity that also didn't exist until after the war. During WWII, what later became the Air Force was known as the U.S. Army Air Corps.

The Fugitive (1963)

Show generally

Factual error: The train transporting Kimble to the death house in the very first scene is a modern American train, but the cars during the derailing appear to be from the 1800's, then the wrecked cars have French writing describing the rail line.

Quoth the Raven - S2-E37

Factual error: While Edgar Allan Poe is penning his famous poem, a close-up of the paper shows us that he's misspelled his own middle name as "Allen." (00:00:50)
