Question: Sati is the daughter of two programs..I really don't understand how two programs can mate. How's it possible?

Answer: Some Matrix programs have become so sophisticated that they are self-aware and much like humans. Keeping with that, Sati's "parents" wrote her using some of their own code, thus, she is their daughter.

Scary Movie 3 (2003)

Question: I don't get the Michael Jackson scene where he goes out the window, and Charlie Sheen finds his body (which doesn't look real) and then something is running in the bushes. Does anyone know just what exactly is going on there?

Answer: It was an alien in a Michael Jackson skin. He shed it and ran off into the bushes.

X-Men 2 (2003)

Question: What was the deal with Magneto switching the metal squares in Cerebro around? They said Prof. X just needed to concentrate on a certain group of people, and the 'little girl' was telling him to concentrate on the mutants and then the humans, and we already saw he could switch between them without aid so why was rearranging the plates necessary?

Answer: He could switch between them in Cerebro. In Cerebro 2 (built at Alkali Lake), the plates had to be moved to find/kill one or the other. Stryker deliberately set it up that way so that Professor X couldn't hurt any humans (like himself or his troops) if he came to his senses in the second Cerebro.

Total Recall (1990)

Question: There is a scene in the movie in which Arnie disguises as a woman to pass the entrance control in Mars. Moments later, the mask he's using starts to malfunction and he has to take it off. When he's doing that, we can see that the man who's playing Quaid is not Arnie but a stunt double. Why did the director choose a stunt double to replace Arnie in a scene that's not risky at all?

Answer: It's not a stunt double, it's a mannequin (fake head actually) of Arnie, used for the artificial head shot.

Foul Balled / The Boy Who Would Be Queen - S2-E7

Question: I want to make sure that what I'm thinking and what my little sister said is right: Trixie said she wanted to date a certain boy with a pink hat who isn't afraid to admit he liked "Kissy Kissy Goo Goo" and "Skull Squisher". But at her birthday party, when Timmy says these types of things, Trixie suddenly denies it. Why? (And to repeat, I want to make sure.).

Answer: Because Timmy is not popular. Even though that is what she really wants, she has her popular image to protect.

Question: Can someone please explain how the apes ended up taking over present-day Earth since the future apes never got hold of the time machine? I can't find anyone who can make heads or tails of it.

Krista

Chosen answer: Tim Burton has been quoted MANY times as saying it isn't supposed to make sense. Best guess is Leo travelled not just into the future, but into another dimension as well. Ironically, this ending is far more true to Peirre Boulle's original ending than the first Apes movie.

Grumpy Scot

Answer: I have, if not an answer, then a sharpening of the question. A number of fanboys have suggested Thade retrieved Leo's pod from the bottom of the lake, then used it to travel into the MagnaStorm, thereby reaching Earth centuries before Leo's arrival, and inciting Earth Apes to rebel. The problem with This explanation is, once you get past how helpless the Apes are in water, How did Thade, a person who comes from a society without even gunpowder level technology, Repair A Spaceship?! Nevermind learn to use it?!?!?.

Mystic River (2003)

Question: Does anyone know why they changed Jimmy's last name to 'Markum' from 'Marcus' (which it is in the books)?

Answer: 9 times out of 10, a character's name is changed to avoid legal action, ie, there may be only one man in the US named Jimmy Marcus who might complain that a character is named after him.

Question: I thought I heard somewhere they cannot shoot while in warp (because nothing can go faster than the ship in warp speed which is faster than light). Why is the Scimitar able to shoot the Enterprise while in warp and take out its warp drive?

Answer: Classic Trek and Star Trek: Enterprise have both established that ships can fire at warp speed.

Grumpy Scot

Answer: Usually, phasers/disrupters do not work at warp speeds, due to the beams travelling at light speed, therefore the firing ship would run into its own beam. Torpedoes can be fired at warp which is what the Scimitar appeared to be firing. That said, there have been several instances of phasers fired at warp (the Nebula-class ship/Prometheus chase in "Message in a Bottle" for example).

Question: Does anyone have any idea what the bit with the security guard at the end was about? Even if Alice could somehow "fire" a virus into someone, there's no way she could have known where in the building the guard was just by looking at the cameras. She might be part computer, but she's not psychic. As far as I can tell, this isn't drawn from any of the games.

Phoenix

Chosen answer: The T-virus was causing her to evolve at a very fast rate. She developed psychic powers and used them on the guard.

Underworld (2003)

Question: Can someone please explain to me why Erica's vampire fangs are so much longer and sharper than anyone else's? (When Michael wakes up at the mansion and Erica is hanging off the ceiling, you can really see them). Even in full vampire mode, all the others' teeth seem to pale in comparison. Why is she so special?

Answer: Not all people have the same size teeth. Why should vampires be any different?

Sphere (1998)

Question: Does anyone think that Harry may not have forgotten about the sphere in the end? He seem awfully calm while Norman and Beth look confused.

Answer: He's also a psychiatrist, he's used to keeping calm while others are upset. But it is certainly possible he remembers it. Why not?

Grumpy Scot

Answer: Harry was a mathematician. Norman was the psychologist. Harry does give a look like he did not forget but then again the Sphere did fly away. I believe it was A. Poor acting or B. To cause the viewer to ask questions.

Question: Is there a reason the dumpster they threw B-Rad in was full of Wonderbread and nothing else?

Answer: "Wonderbread and whitebread" are derogatory terms used to describe a white man. It can be mean or good-natured, like most put-downs.

Cabin Fever (2002)

Question: Would a PUR water purifier filter out the disease in the water?

Answer: It really depends on whether the disease is virus or bacteria, in addition to what size it is as to whether a filter would keep it out. Boiling the water would almost certainly do it.

Grumpy Scot

One girl was drinking tea, she had to boil water for that, and she still got it.

Gotta boil it for 10 minutes or so.

Question: What do the alpha-numeric codes represent? I thought that each chevron had a number or letter assigned to it, but only numbers appear in the last three digits and some numbers repeat themselves, I highly doubt that constellations repeat themselves in the night sky of a planet.

X-Men 2 (2003)

Question: Does anyone know if Gambit (had a stick and threw playing cards) will be introduced in the new X-men film and can anyone explain why he hasn't been introduced yet? I always remember he was a major character in the cartoon.

Lummie

Chosen answer: Rumor has it he will be in the third film. Nothing definite yet. There is no reason he hasn't been introduced yet. Why hasn't Archangel, Beast, Bishop or Forge been introduced? Why not the Sentinels? Why is Rogue starting out as a good guy? The movies will not exactly follow the comics or cartoon.
