Sphere

Question: Whose footprints it is that they found in the ship first first time they enter?

Kfcriérdé Mnaiss

Question: After what seems like several hours of conversation between the crew and "Jerry", did the letters J and E occur in the text before the sentence "Don't call me Jerry" appeared and Dustin Hoffman realised the translation was wrong? I haven't watched the film a second time but surely we see words that contain J and E and still make perfect sense?

Chosen answer: It's been a while, but as I remember it, this is explained better in the book. If I remember it correctly, since the translation program was made by Harry, he subconsciously added a section that simply mistranslated "Harry" to "Jerry". That doesn't mean every H became a J or anything like that. It only affected that word.

Question: Does anyone think that Harry may not have forgotten about the sphere in the end? He seem awfully calm while Norman and Beth look confused.

Chosen answer: He's also a psychiatrist, he's used to keeping calm while others are upset. But it is certainly possible he remembers it. Why not?

Beth attempts to convince Norman to inject himself with a tranquilizer by trapping him in a room and filling it with water. As the water rises, Norman frantically looks for a way out. There is a quick overhead shot of this scene that flashes on for just a second, and if you look around the perimeter of the room - you will see the entire crew, complete with camera and lights.
