Continuity mistake: When Calibos stabs the bag containing Medusa's head, a lot of blood comes pouring out. Yet when the camera cuts to the ground, there is only a very small amount.

wizard_of_gore

Continuity mistake: After Perseus kills Medusa and her headless body falls, blood starts to pour out of her neck in a small pool. The camera instantly cuts to his shield, and it is already sitting in a very large pool of blood, and is starting to dissolve. There was no time lapse, so there was no time for the pool of blood to have expanded that far.

Factual error: They are about to perform major brain surgery on Chekov, but he is not nearly prepped for such a procedure. His head is not shaved, the area is not marked or masked and it has not been swabbed with Betadine, even though they are about to cut into his skull with a bonesaw. The "they haven't had time to prepare yet" argument doesn't hold water, because the surgeon is already approaching Chekov's head with the saw. (01:24:30)

Continuity mistake: Near the end, when Barry takes the "Tim" mouse out of the trash to work on it, he takes off his regular glasses and puts on his magnifying visor. When he flips the visor up, his regular glasses are still on underneath.

Star Trek (2009)

Character mistake: When the Enterprise first comes under attack from the Narada, Captain Pike gives the order "transfer power from port nacelles to forward shields" (confirmed by subtitles). As the Enterprise has only one port nacelle, his use of the plural is not correct.

Revealing mistake: When Chekhov and Terrell see the Ceti Eels moving around in the tank for the first time, it's obvious that it's not sand in the tank. As the creatures move underneath, all the 'grains' move in unison, and not a single grain of sand is disturbed nor do they tumble over one another.

Factual error: When Starscream and Megatron are shown talking after Sam has escaped, they are supposed to be in New York City. They are actually on top of the "Gas Company Tower" which is in Los Angeles.

wizard_of_gore

Factual error: During the Decepticon attack on Paris, there is a shot of the Hotel Crillon with the Eiffel Tower in the background. The tower is actually on the opposite side of Paris, making this shot impossible.

Factual error: When Sean is crossing the chasm by jumping on the 'magnetic rocks', he jumps onto the edge of several of the rocks. Assuming that the rocks could actually float in the magnetic field as shown, standing on the edge of one of them would cause it to immediately flip.

wizard_of_gore

Continuity mistake: When Sean first sees the 'magnetic rocks' forming a bridge across the chasm, there is a great distance between him and the other side, and about 20 floating rocks. When he starts to cross, the distance is now much shorter, and he only jumps on 6 or 7 rocks to get across.

wizard_of_gore

Factual error: When the Decepticons are reviving Megatron, General Morshower states something like "coming up from 9,000 fathoms". 9,000 fathoms is approximately 16,000 meters. The Laurentian Abyss, where it was stated in the first movie that Megatron was dropped, is around 6,000 meters deep.

Question: It is stated that Optimus is a descendant of the last remaining Primes which sacrificed themselves to stop The Fallen from destroying the sun. If the Primes were all dead, how could he be 'descended' from them and how can he himself be a Prime?

wizard_of_gore

Chosen answer: We don't actually know how "descended" works in Transformer terms, but presumably the original Primes created descendants in some manner before their sacrifice. The original Primes all gave their lives to stop the Fallen, but that doesn't mean that there couldn't have been descendant Primes created prior to that point.

Tailkinker

Question: During the first film, there is a huge battle in the middle of downtown L.A. (Mission City), witnessed by thousands of people and causing millions of dollars in damage. In this movie, this is just an Internet rumor? How did they cover this up? Did the government pay off thousands of people and repair all the damage that quickly? And, most importantly, in the first movie didn't Jon Voight go on TV and tell the whole world they were dealing with a superior technological civilization?

wizard_of_gore

Chosen answer: Per IMDB Trivia: The novelization states that the government created a fake corporation called "Massive Dynamics" as a cover for the events of Transformers (2007). The cover story stated that Massive Dynamics had developed robotic search-and-rescue robots which malfunctioned during tests and caused the damage seen in that movie's finale.

shortdanzr

Continuity mistake: When The Fallen decrees that the Decepticons will now make their presence known, one of them knocks the flagpole off the top of the eastern tower of the Brooklyn Bridge. A short time later, another shot of the tower shows the flagpole is back and there is no damage.
