Corrected entry: Because the title of the film is very similar to a nickname of the World Trade Center towers ("Twin Towers") and their connection to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, director Peter Jackson considered changing it, but quickly decided against it because of fan opposition.

megamii

Correction: This was only a rumor. Jackson and everyone else involved with the production have stated numerous times that they never even considered changing the title.

Corrected entry: A case of dodgy wire-work comes into play in Niobe's fighting scene at the power station. When she goes to kick one of the guards, she doesn't jump into the air as Trinity or other characters do - she is obviously pulled into the air. Watch closely and you'll notice.

Phoebe

Correction: This is a matter of opinion. To me (and obviously to the filmmakers) it appears as if Niobe simply leaps up using as little energy as possible - a very spare and economical fighting move.

Ronin (1998)

Corrected entry: After Gregor steals the case, Sam and the others hole up in a flat to treat Larry's wound, during this scene the idea that they can trace Gregor through his cellphone is put forward. Vincent asks Sam if that is possible, but isn't that how they tracked the case in the first place (through the bald guy's cellphone).

Correction: Yes, but when they were tracing the movements of the case during the ambush attempt, it was Gregor that was doing the tracing. Obviously, he isn't there to run a trace, using his equipment, if it's him they are trying to locate.

Monsters, Inc. (2001)

Corrected entry: When Boo is first discovered by Mike & Sully, they refer to Boo as 'it' and 'the child'. During the bathroom scene when Sully tells Mike that he named the child Boo, his exact words are "That's what I named her". There is no explanation why he switched the pronoun from 'it' to 'her'. For the rest of the movie, they do refer to Boo as 'her'.

Sangie

Correction: This isn't a mistake, it's a choice made by the filmmakers. It's intended to show that Sully no longer sees Boo as an "it", but as a living being that might not be so dangerous after all.

Corrected entry: Sarah Connor is in the maximum security wing of a mental hospital, and she picks the lock of her cell with a paperclip. What sort of maximum security is this? The Escape At Your leisure kind? Why on earth is there a keyhole on the inside of the door?

Correction: To allow orderlies and workers to exit with the keys they carry.

Phil C.

Corrected entry: If John Connor is only 10, why is he allowed to own and ride a motorcycle without the police saying or doing anything?

Correction: One, John looks much older than his ten years, so any cop that saw him might believe he was old enough to ride the bike legally. Two, who says the police never say or do anything? We know that John has already had several brushes with the law; the bike is just another example.

Phil C.

Corrected entry: Miles Dyson gets shot in the shoulder by Sarah Connor in his house. In the Special Edition DVD, he picks up an axe (with his good arm) and swings it pretty hard to destroy the CPU he had been working on. This would be nearly impossible since he was in so much pain from his other shoulder being shot.

Correction: Maybe. Except he was running on adrenaline by then, and would also have really wanted to go after the symbol that has caused him so much frustration over the past years. Also, he would understandably have quite a bit of rage towards it after the Terminator revealed what would happen in the future. Pain is only temporary.

Finding Nemo (2003)

Corrected entry: In the scene in the fish tank where they all say where they are from the starfish says that it is from ebay which is untrue because you are not allowed to sell animals on ebay.

Correction: Except that is a fairly recent addition to Ebay's rules. We have no way of knowing how long the dentist has owned his fish; he could have acquired them long before the rule went into effect.

Corrected entry: After Belle has run away after being scolded by the beast in the west wing, she is attacked by wolves. The beast saves her, but is injured and collapses to the ground. In the next scene, you see Belle leading Phillipe back to the castle with the Beast slumped over the back of the horse. How did Belle get someone as big as the beast on the horse?

Correction: It's likely that Belle had Philippe lie down in the snow. It would then have been much easier to push or drag the Beast's limp body onto Philippe's back.

Phil C.

Correction: Also, as the daughter of an inventor, she might have learned a few things about pulleys and levers.

dizzyd

Corrected entry: In the scene where Gaston tries to propose to Belle, he walks in the door and leaves it open. However, by the end of the scene, the door has magically closed itself, because Belle's back is to the closed door when she opens it and lets Gaston fall face first into the mud puddle.

Correction: As Gaston follows Belle through the house, they walk into an entirely different room. It is a wholly different door that Belle opens to get rid of Gaston.

Phil C.

Corrected entry: When R2-D2 shows the holographic plan of the palace, the palace turns, but not the red path.

Dr Wilson

Correction: Not so. The path does in fact change orientation as the palace itself turns. It is most noticeable at the left edge; note how the red line moves from several inches into the hologram but shifts leftward until it is almost at the edge. It is also very evident at the square reverse-C-shaped curve of the path; the lower bar of the reverse-C decreases noticeably in length.

Phil C.

Corrected entry: When the neimoidian vice-roy is watching the battle on a screen Darth Maul comes, but his make-up seems different than during the rest of the film.

Dr Wilson

Correction: "Seems". Only to the person that submitted this, I'm afraid. The fact is that Darth Maul's makeup is the same in that scene as everywhere else in the film.

Phil C.

Corrected entry: When Anakin tries his podracer for the first time, his hair and clothes move as if there was wind. There are three problems with that. First, his pod isn't moving, hence no wind. Second, other persons near him don't seem to be affected by wind and third, it doesn't do that at the beginning of the Boonta Eve race, when they start their motors.

Dr Wilson

Correction: It isn't wind that's causing his hair and clothes to move, but rather exhaust from the pod turbines, which he has just switched on. The other characters aren't affected by it because Qui-Gon and Kitster are out of range to the left and Amidala, C-3PO, R2-D2 and Jar-Jar are out of range to the right. As for why you don't see his hair moving at the start of the Boonta Eve race, it's because his helmet has plastered it to his head and only a few strands are loose.

Phil C.

Corrected entry: When Anakin is fighting the geonosis guards in the droid factory, he does a backwards roll to avoid being hit, while doing so he rolls right on one of the molten pieces of metal on the conveyor belt...

Correction: No, actually he rolls in between the large squares of steel. This is less visible in the full-frame version of the film, but is easily seen in the proper widescreen edition.

Dante's Peak (1997)

Corrected entry: When Harry notices that the water in town is full of sulphur dioxide it's late in the evening, yet when they start calling for people to meet, it's daytime - why would they wait for so long (till 6 p.m. of next day) if the volcano was about to erupt?

Correction: Because obviously the measurements and information they had during the night led them to believe there was still some time. Harry, for example, who has been the most vocal about getting the town on alert, is relatively calm during the meeting, so it is evident that things aren't panic-worthy yet. Attempting to evacuate the town during the dead of night would be difficult and they would not be able to be sure everyone knew about it. Waiting until the next day would allow them to put an evacuation plan into effect and get everyone out safely.

Dante's Peak (1997)

Corrected entry: Pierce Brosnan drives into the mineshaft to avoid the lava flow, but at the end of the movie, the car headlights are facing out.

Correction: This is definitely incorrect. The truck is shown several times with the front end still buried in the mine, with rescuers actually standing in the bed of the truck. The bulldozer then pulls it free, still rear-end-first. No headlights are anywhere to be seen, only the truck's taillights, and the split bed and truck boxes are prominently visible.

Dante's Peak (1997)

Corrected entry: When Harry and Rachel go to get her kids they cross the bridge and all the cars are going the same way - to get out of town. When they find out that the kids went to get Grandma, they go back through the water, since the bridge is packed. A few cars follow their example and try to cross the river - why are these cars going back to the town rather than away from it?

Correction: The cars are not coming from the same direction that Harry took. They saw Harry drive down the bank on the "out-of-town" side, heading back towards town, and thought they could make it across the river FROM the "in-town" side, heading away from town.

Heat (1995)

Corrected entry: In the scene where De Niro is waiting inside a station wagon at the drive-in movie, a white Dodge Ram pulls into the lot with money for the stolen bonds. De Niro told Van Zandt to send only one person. As the Dodge drives towards De Niro, it passes the snack stand where Val Kilmer is perched upon armed with a high power rifle. As the scene progresses, the second man in the bed slowly gets out to shoot De Niro. If you look closely at the tailgate of the truck, you will see it is one of those rubber net air gates which you can see through. As the truck passed by the snack stand, how could Val Kilmer have missed the second man in the bed of the truck?

Correction: Look at the wide shot of the drive-in when the truck enters. The driver doesn't "pass by" the snack stand, but rather takes a very roundabout direction to get to Neil's car. You can see that only the right side of the truck (and, as it pulls up alongside Neil's car, the nose of the truck) would be visible to someone on the roof; the truck bed itself is not visible from that low angle because the truck is too far away.

Heat (1995)

Corrected entry: After the big LA shootout, as the fat guy tries to escape, he falls in a fountain. When he next picks up the young girl as a hostage, his suit is completely dry. When dead on the ground, it is wet again.

Correction: Cheritto's suit doesn't show water very well, but even so you can see that his pantlegs and the lapels of his suit jacket are several shades darker after his unintentional dip. They do not once shift back to the light gray that they were before he fell.

Heat (1995)

Corrected entry: The millions they stole, even in $100 bills, would be too bulky to fit in the duffel bags they ran off with.

Correction: Think again. A million dollars in $100 bills will fit rather neatly into a pile 8" by 6" by 13", or a 5' attache case (see http://www.cockeyed.com/inside/million/million.html for a demonstration). Roughly four million could therefore fit easily into each duffel bag, and there are three duffel bags, one each carried by Neil, Chris and Michael - totalling approximately twelve million as per Kelso's estimate.
