Friends (1994)

The One With The Truth About London - S7-E16

Corrected entry: When Monica and Chandler are taking their clothes off, Chandler takes his clothes off really fast, and Monica says "wow, you're fast". Then they say that they are about to see each other naked. Monica isn't wearing the top of her dress (a two-piece) any more, but she could only have removed that by pulling it over her head, which she hasn't done.

don_corleone

Correction: The mistake states, "Monica isn't wearing the top of her dress (a two-piece) any more, but she could only have removed that by pulling it over her head, which she hasn't done." This is incorrect. Yes, Monica is wearing a 2-piece outfit, but her sleeveless fitted top has a zipper at the back (down to the hem), and it's removed by her reaching behind and unzipping the back so it's off in a flash. It is not removed by pulling it over the head.

Super Grover

Correction: There is enough time when Monica is off-camera for her to have removed her top.

STP

She never leaves the frame in the scene. So no. It's an error as the OP stated.

Friends (1994)

The One With The Inappropriate Sister - S5-E10

Corrected entry: Phoebe is collecting for charity and Monica comes to see her; a man puts a dollar in the bucket and tries to make change for the bus. When Phoebe argues with the man he says "bite me blondie", but he couldn't have known that she is blonde because she has a Santa hat on that covers her entire head and no hair is coming out from underneath the hat.

Correction: Her hair is simply not out when the guy is there. It is simply a mistake. Her hair is out in the next scene she appears in but not one little bit is out when the guy says "bite me blondie." Only way he could know is if he has seen her before and recognised her.

Correction: I thought this too, but it's clear in the next shot, when she turns slightly, that Phoebe's long hair comes out below the hat and hangs right down her back - this would have been evident from the man's point of view, even if it's not evident from the front, and therefore to the viewer.

Friends (1994)

Correction: The Porsche is still silvery-grey, but just looks darker in certain lights. When Rachel drives off from the curb, and when they're pulled over waiting for the cop, are just two places where the original colour is still evident.

The One Where Paul's The Man - S6-E22

Corrected entry: When Paul is looking in the mirror and saying he's a sex machine, instead of looking at himself in the mirror, Paul is looking at the camera in the mirror. That's why his eyes in the mirror look to the front. This happens in many films and TV shows.

Correction: How is this a mistake? I don't think it even qualifies as trivia.

Friends (1994)

Correction: How do we know what Phoebe's happy about? Perhaps she just thinks it's a good choice, given that (to her way of thinking) it's a pet name the girls use for each other.

STP

Correction: I agree, she reacts to it being used on her behalf as she also gestures to herself, she also answers to this nickname in many previous episodes before this statement is made and although the joke is funny they would have been better off using it earlier than season 4.

Corrected entry: When Scott and Fran are dancing on the roof of the studio, and Scott swings himself around on the clothesline, you can see the floor almost collapse when he lands. It looks like they covered the roof with panels of wood, even though it should be cement on a buildings roof.

Correction: It was a real roof, and the floor was also real; the only piece of set was the Coca Cola billboard.

Strictly Ballroom (1992)

Corrected entry: Throughout the movie, Scott and Fran dance the rumba together. The type of rumba they dance is the box rumba, which is counted either slow, quick, quick or 1, hold 2,3,4 and is danced in a box shape. This is type of rumba is only danced competitively in the United States, and the movie is set in Australia. Therefore, Scott and Fran should be dancing international style rumba, which has an entirely different timing (2,3,hold 4,1) and basic movement (a series of rocks forward and back on the feet). (00:21:40)

Correction: Isn't the whole point of the film that Scott and Fran don't dance the way they're supposed to?

Top Secret! (1984)

Corrected entry: Much of the German in the film is actually Yiddish, a type of German dialect spoken primarily by Ashkenazic Jews.

Correction: All the German I heard sounded like regular German.

In Her Shoes (2005)

Corrected entry: After Maggie leaves the pet parlour she breaks the the heel on one of the high heels and the replaces them with ugg boots. Later on when she is picking up Rose's car from the impound, we see her running along wearing the same shoes she broke earlier on that day.

Correction: Rose changed into the ugg boots for practical reasons. It is more than reasonable to think she changed back into the more glamorous shoes, even if one was broken, to go out drinking with the two guys.

STP

But wait...didn't she leave the Uggs in Rose's car that was already impounded?

Troy (2004)

Corrected entry: In the scene just after the Greeks have taken the Trojan beach, there some members of Troy sitting before Priam and they are cheering that, "If they want a war, we'll give them a war." After that comment, someone says, "The best of Greece outnumber the best of Troy two to one," yet they still cheer in happiness. This doesn't make any sense as they are Trojans and it is a bad thing that they're outnumbered by the Greeks.

Correction: They are cheering in defiance, not happiness.

Ever After (1998)

Corrected entry: In the scene when Prince Henri puts the slipper on Danielle and proposes, he mispronounces her last name: Danielle de Barbolat instead of de Barbarac.

Correction: This is simply not true. Henri's accent may obscure the words slightly but what he says is correct. Even if it weren't it would still just be a character mistake.

La Confidential (1997)

Corrected entry: When Bud White meets Buzz Meeks he rips his (Meeks') wallet from his hip pocket. Later, when he finds Meeks' dead body he retrieves the wallet from the inside pocket of Meeks' suitcoat. Plausible, but unlikely that Meeks changed his habit.

Correction: If it's plausible, then it's possible, and therefore not a mistake.

STP

Corrected entry: When Harry is exposing Mr. Deever's letter about Cheryl Biggs (the pregnant student) over the air, he reads, "I have no alternative but to suggest suspension." Cheryl Biggs was expelled, not suspended. We know later in the film that there is a difference between the two when Harry asks his girlfriend why she was expelled for cutting class ("That just deserves a suspension, right?")

Matty Blast

Correction: We can see from Deever's comment in the meeting, towards the end of the film, 'They're just kids!' that he doesn't approve of all Ms Cresswood's actions. In his letter, he has suggested suspension for Cheryl, but Ms Cresswood takes it a step further and decides on expulsion.

STP

Corrected entry: Harry's parents knock on his door and say they are suspicious because they heard him "talking." Apparently they feel they have nothing to worry about when Harry is yelling, screaming, and whacking boxes with a golf club, near the beginning of the movie.

Correction: Mark's parents go downstairs to talk to him because they're concerned about him, not because they heard anything. They hear him talking while they're right outside the door, before they knock, and mention it because he said he was alone. The rest of the time, they're in a completely different part of the house, and can't hear him however much noise he makes.

STP

Corrected entry: In the scene where the tidal wave goes through New York and the wave is shown crashing over the Statue of Liberty, the Statue of Liberty is facing towards New York - it should be facing the opposite way.

David Hancock

Correction: Checked, double-checked - simply not so. The camera pans around the statue in a sweeping motion so parts of the city are seen in the background, but when it finishes the circle and moves slightly closer, it is evident that the statue is facing the way it is supposed to be.

STP

Corrected entry: When Jack and his buddy find the door in the library, where his son is supposed to be, a very bright light is shining through underneath the door. Then he opens the door and the room behind that door is just totally dark. (01:49:15)

Correction: The room is not 'totally dark'; we can see the pink glow of the fire on the frost on the back of the door as soon as Quaid opens it. He was able to see the fire more brightly from the outside because of the contrast it formed with the darkness in the corridor. When the door swings open we can even see the small gap between it and the snow which allowed that small amount of firelight to escape.

STP

Corrected entry: When everybody in the Public Library hears a strange sound and goes out to investigate it, they all go to the front part of the library where you see the entire first floor flooded. However when Sam and the other two men come back from going to the ship and are running from "The Big Freeze" the snow slopes down to the very bottom of the first floor. How can this be? The first floor was flooded and would have frozen over.

Correction: If you're talking about the exterior shots, it's clear that the snow covers at least the bottom floor; the guys have to get in through the very top of one of the arched windows. If you're talking about interior, we see the same room we saw everyone assembled in earlier, before most of them leave on their ill-fated attempt to get out of the city. To get there, running from the floods, they have run up some steps, through a revolving door, and then up more steps - higher than the water, over which they then look out. Either way, this is not a mistake.

STP

Corrected entry: When Toula sees the flier at college about Computers and Tourism, you can see the flier is attached to the bulletin board by a small green push pin. The camera angle changes when she goes to pull the flier off the bulletin board and it is now secured by a larger pin that allows her to rip the flier off the board.

MCKD

Correction: Not true; it's the same pin all the way through. When Toula pulls the flier from the board, the starting angle of the shot means that a black mark on a sheet of paper behind the pin looks like an extension of the pin itself, but as the angle changes to follow Toula down the stairs it becomes evident that this is not attached and is in fact something separate.

STP

Corrected entry: When Toula finishes her story about her childhood and the scene changes back to the restaurant, her shirt has changed from a white blouse she was wearing before the flashback to a brown sweater. (00:07:30)

Scott Howard

Correction: This is meant to show the passing of time; Toula is shown in a variety of different outfits in the early scenes in the restaurant, meant to indicate how monotonous and boring her days are, and how she's constantly thinking about the same things.

STP

Corrected entry: In the first scene where Toula and her father are riding to the restaurant, from the outside angle, you can see that there is no car behind them. As they are talking, the angle from inside of the car shows that there are a set of headlights in back of them. After they zoom out to the angle outside of the car, again there is no car behind them.

Correction: These are not headlights - they're shop and streetlights behind them, and are consistent in the close-up and wide shots.
