The Rocky Horror Picture Show mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Eddie escapes the deep freeze, he wears three rings on his left hand: his middle, ring and pinkie fingers. Bizarrely, the pinkie ring actually disappears in quite a few shots, including when Eddie plays the sax and when he lifts Columbia, just before they mess around on the floor.

Visible crew/equipment: Just as Eddie rides his motorcycle down from the lab's upper level, in the shot from behind him, set equipment and a few crew members are seen gathered at the top right of the screen, just before the shot cuts away.

Factual error: The criminologist describes the events of the movie as taking place "on a late November evening". In the very next scene, Brad and Janet are driving in Brad's car, and President Richard Nixon's resignation speech is playing on the radio. Nixon resigned in August of 1974.

Trivia: At one point on set, the cast had an off-camera Easter egg hunt. Some were never found, apparently, because you can see at least three of the eggs: one under Frank-N-Furter's throne, one in the main hall in place of the light, and another you can see when they are going up to the lair in the elevator.

Question: Why, when Betty and Ralph drive off on honeymoon at the start does the car say 'Wait till tonight - she got hers now he'll get his'? Am I missing something or am I just being naive and innocent?

The Doctor

Chosen answer: It means they are going to have sex. The bride got her groom and the groom is going to get laid.

Bruce Minnick

Question: I think that this is the case, I just want to check. At the start, the church attendants are Riff-Raff and Magenta (and, I presume, Columbia). Is the vicar really Frank-N-Furter?

The Doctor

Chosen answer: Yes, this is alluded to by the Criminologist (narrator) circling their heads on a big picture from the wedding.

Question: One of my co-workers said the first line in the show was, "Michael Renee was sick the day the Earth stood still". Could you give me the exact first line and what it means?

Chosen answer: The first line to the lyrics of 'Science Fiction/Double Feature' is "Michael Rennie was ill The Day the Earth Stood Still, but he told us where we stand." That line is a reference to the 1951 film classic 'The Day the Earth Stood Still', which stars Michael Rennie as Klaatu, the alien from outer-space, who is shot at the start of the film when he tries convey a dire message of goodwill to the humans. The rest of the song lyrics refer to other science fiction films including 'The Invisible Man' starring Claude Rains, 'King Kong' starring Fay Wray, and 'Tarantula' starring Leo G. Carroll.
