Continuity mistake: Five Characters In Search Of An Author: When Matt Groening stands up after being beaten by Homer and Bart, he starts thanking Marge. When he says this, he is standing at an angle perpendicular to Lisa. In the next shot, he and Lisa are standing directly in front of each other.

Other mistake: Five Characters In Search Of An Author: When Bart begins inserting the key cards into the slots, we can see that all four of the slots are all different colours (purple, blue, red, pink). The key cards are supposed to be inserted into the slot that matches its colour. But he is shown inserting the blue keycard into the red slot.

Continuity mistake: Medal of Homer: When Bart asks Homer if he can get some wine, Homer rejects his offer saying he's an American kid. When he says this, no-one else can be seen standing next to the truck behind them. Abe then suddenly appears in the next shot, saying "God bless America" while standing next to the truck.

Continuity mistake: Medal of Homer: When the Mayor hands Homer the painting, the two are standing right next to each other. A couple seconds later, the Mayor is meters away from Homer.

Continuity mistake: Medal of Homer: When the Mayor of the village shows Homer the painting, he has both hands placed on each side. The hand placed along the left side is near to the middle, whereas the hand placed along the right side is higher up. But in the next shot, both hands are level with each other.

Continuity mistake: Medal of Homer: When Abe tries to shoot at Private Burns on the boat, Burns leaps onto the ground for cover. He lands flat on the ground, but in the next shot, he is suddenly standing.

Revealing mistake: Medal of Homer: After Homer says "It's the Civil War, duh", it cuts to an angle behind Homer and Bart. For the first frame of the shot, a couple of the lights in the village are not switched on and no smoke can be seen coming out of the chimneys. The lights and chimney smoke just pop-up on screen a couple frames into the shot.

Continuity mistake: Grand Theft Scratchy: At the start of the opening cutscene, when Marge is commenting on the neighborhood, the shadows on the ground change between shots.

Continuity mistake: Grand Theft Scratchy: When Marge says "Look at this place. Graffito, bottle and bags", she is standing upright. In the next shot, she is suddenly hunched forward towards Lisa.

Continuity mistake: NeverQuest: When Homer climbs into Patty and Selma's ash tray, cigarette ash around the keycard suddenly appears when it cuts to the close-up shot.
Other mistake: Bargain Bin: When Marge and Lisa get out of the elevator after arriving at the theatre, Maggie cannot be seen in Marge's arms. She was transported to Game Engine along with the other Simpsons and was being carried by Marge. So there is no reason at all why Maggie would be absent here.

Continuity mistake: Bargain Bin: When Homer and Bart get out of the elevator after arriving at the theatre, in the overview shot, two lights can be seen on top of the doors to each of the four levels. On the door to the NeverQuest level, the light placed on top of the left-hand side of the door is pointed to the left. In the next shot, the light is pointed directly forwards.
Continuity mistake: Bargain Bin: When Will Wright shows the Simpsons the 8-bit versions of themselves, Homer is shown smiling while saying "Wow" and all of them are shown looking directly at the 8-bit Simpsons. In the next shot, Homer is no longer smiling and they are now looking at Will Wright.

Continuity mistake: Bargain Bin: When Homer reappears on top of the platform after falling off it, he is standing ahead of the other Simpsons. When Will Wright appears in the next shot, Bart and Lisa are suddenly ahead of Homer.

Continuity mistake: Bargain Bin: When the family arrives in the Game Engine and Marge asks "Where are we", she is shown holding onto Maggie. Marge has both hands around Maggie's back and Maggie is hunched backwards. Two shots after when Lisa says "We're in the Game Engine", Maggie is suddenly held upright and Marge's hands have changed position.

Other mistake: Lisa the Tree Hugger: When the logger finishes telling Bart and Lisa about how his daddy was a logger and his daddy before that, Bart is shown looking straight forward to his left to face the two loggers, before pretending to go to sleep. It then cuts to a wide shot of the four of them, and the two loggers can be seen ahead of Bart to his right. At this angle, he wouldn't have been able to be face-to-face with them if he was facing to the left.

Continuity mistake: Lisa the Tree Hugger: When the two loggers confront Bart and Lisa after they destroy the factory, one of the loggers is shown standing in front of the other. But in the final shot of them, the two are standing side by side.

Continuity mistake: Lisa the Tree Hugger: When Mr Burns is talking to Smithers about his evil plan, just as he finishes saying "and turn each tree into a single luxury toothpick", his forearm is raised above the desk. In the next shot, his elbow is suddenly rested on the armrest of the chair.

Continuity mistake: Lisa the Tree Hugger: When Lisa asks Bart where he got his super powers, Bart raises the manual to show to her. When he raises it, the manual is at a titled angle. When the shot cuts to Lisa, the manual isn't tilted at all.

Continuity mistake: Game Over: After everyone escapes the Game Engine, it cuts to an exterior shot of the Simpson house. In the shot, a red mat can be seen outside the front door. Later, when Lisa goes outside, the mat is now green. There is also a tap attached to the house shown in the establishing shot that disappears when Lisa goes outside.
