Continuity mistake: In the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, Simmons grabs a leather flight jacket, puts it on and when he stands perfectly still between two mannequins his fur collar is first flipped up then flat down, between shots. (01:21:15)
Continuity mistake: Before heading into the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, when Simmons pulls the taser out of his bag and turns it on he holds it in his right hand, but in Leo's close-up as he starts to freak out, the taser's in Simmons's left hand, then it's back in Simmons's right hand, between shots. Continuity mistake: When Sam's parents are spat out by Bonecrusher in Egypt, Sam's mom is wearing pants. In the next scene when they all meet up she has a skirt on with the same pattern as the pants.
Continuity mistake: In the party scene when Sam is standing and holding his drink, every time it switches angles the amount of liquid in the glass keeps changing. First it's full. Next it's half empty. Next it's almost full again.
Continuity mistake: When Optimus is shot in the battle in the forest, he loses one of the chrome bumpers on his chest, and the other one is heavily damaged. The latter one is attached to HIS right side. But in the shot where he says: ''Sam. run.'', the bumper is attached to the left side of his chest. (01:01:15 - 01:03:05)
Continuity mistake: At the James S. McDonnell Space Hangar, the entire information booth that is directly behind Jetfire (it was seen close-up when Leo walked out of the bathroom with his pants down) has vanished as he exclaims, "Behold the eternal glory of Jetfire!" (01:21:00)
Chosen answer: He knows from stories passed down to him from older generations of bots, not much unlike stories about the past passed down to us from our ancestors. His line about no one telling him anything is just a way to avoid being put back in the box or being tortured by Mikayla.
