Batman Begins
Batman Begins mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Thomas Wayne dies, in his last two close-ups, there's a crack in the asphalt under his head, as well as another one on his left, that weren't there in the previous wideshot. (00:13:45)

Kylantha

Factual error: In the scene inside the police station when they are discussing Falcone's apprehension by Batman the fire alarm boxes are European push-glass style rather than American pull-style - this is due to this scene being filmed on location in London. (01:03:10)

Continuity mistake: When Bruce is pinned down under the burning log, the position and amount of flames on the log keeps changing, including some consecutive shots. The amount and position of the debris by his head also changes several times.

Kylantha

Continuity mistake: When Alfred holds and comforts Bruce after Bruce's parents are killed, Bruce moves his head towards him and presses his face against Alfred's arm. In the next shot, he moves his head towards Alfred again, this time pressing his head against Alfred's chest. (00:16:10)

Continuity mistake: When the young Bruce is trapped at the bottom of the well, there are several shots looking up from the bottom. In the first shot, branches are seen over the well. When the bats fly out of the well, there are different branches, and when Thomas Wayne lowers himself down to rescue his son, yet another set of branches is seen.

Kylantha

Continuity mistake: When Bruce and Rachel kiss, in the third shot, the fingers of Rachel's left hand can be seen on Bruce's neck, but in the previous shot, her hand was nowhere near his neck. (02:01:55)

Kylantha

Continuity mistake: When Dr. Crane enters Falcone's cell, he sits down, and as the shots ends, his hands are up as he's putting his briefcase on the table. In the next shot, his hands are suddenly resting in his lap. (01:08:50)

Plot hole: The manner in which the Microwave emitter is used to vaporize the city's water would not go as intended. Microwave emissions coming from a device located inside of a train that has a very metallic exterior will unavoidably be affected by the photoelectric effects resulting from any microwave beam that is focused at the water mains below the train from within it. A fork placed within a relatively low powered kitchen microwave would encounter a similar effect.

RootofInsanity

Continuity mistake: When Thomas Wayne carries Bruce into the mansion, in the first shot, Bruce's legs are pointing outwards. In the next shot, they're hanging downwards. (00:10:15)

Revealing mistake: When the Batmobile is in the parking lot, there are skid marks under the Batmobile revealing the previous takes. (01:32:00)

Ssiscool

Factual error: In the scene where Bruce Wayne gives a homeless man a wad of cash and trades coats, the wad of cash he had is of the new 20 dollar bill with the big numbers. The new 20 didn't begin circulation until October 9, 2003.

Suggested correction: I don't think this is relevant at all, because the movie or batman movies before it have never been set on any historical time-line as in Batman defeated the Joker in 1963. With X-Men, we know that Magneto's childhood was spent in a Nazi concentration camp, so to set the X-Men in the 1930s would be an error, but even if the atmosphere is designed to invoke a time period, there is nothing onscreen in this Batman movie that makes the film accountable to be set in any specific time period. The only thing we know is that Lucious Fox's equipment was originally slated to be used by the military for some unnamed war.

This correction is wrong. The scene is set 7 years prior to the current day, and the film isn't meant to be set in the future either. The film is meant to be set in "present" day (2005), which is why you see Bruce drive a 2005 Lamborghini. It has nothing to do with being in a "historical time-line."

Bishop73

Continuity mistake: When the thug attacks Bruce in the beginning of the movie, the man grabs his hair, yanking it straight up. In the next shot, he's suddenly yanking it sideways. His action is shown in real time, visible on screen at all times, and therefore can't be corrected by saying it only takes a fraction of a second to move his hand.

Kylantha

Continuity mistake: After Bruce and Rachel kiss, as Rachel says, "He never came back at all", her hand is touching his face, but in the next shot, her hand is gone from his face. (02:02:30)

Kylantha

Factual error: After the funeral, when the young Rachel looks up at young Bruce from outside the mansion, you can see a modern-day Illinois license plate. These plates were not available at the time.

Suggested correction: I don't see how this is relevant. Batman is not set along a historic time-line. Batman first defeated the Joker in 1963. There might be a certain time period that the atmosphere of the movie is trying to capture but since there's no specific date, than there's no obligation to keep every facet of the movie in that time period.

This correction is wrong, while no date is specified, it's meant to take place in the "present" which is why you see cars from early 2000's and a 2005 Lamborghini. And the film isn't meant to be set in future either. Although the mistake should specify what is meant by "modern", it's unlikely they were in use about 15 years ago (from the setting of the film).

Continuity mistake: When Gordon gives Batman the Joker card, which is in a small, sealed, tight evidence bag, the card switches position in the bag between the shots of Batman taking it and him turning the card around. (02:05:05)

Kylantha

Continuity mistake: When the prisoners escape a villain disguised as a SWAT team member places a explosive charge against the wall. As he comes down the stairs an explosive pack is already there, and he places his explosive pack on top of that.

Visible crew/equipment: When Bruce/Batman arrives with the Tumbler on the car parking's roof in attempt to bring Rachel to the Batcave after she was poisoned and he's surrounded by the cops cars, most of the cast and crew members are visible hidden into the elevator waiting area while the SWAT helicopter illuminates the entire zone.

Revealing mistake: When the train crashes and then explodes during the climax, there's several major flaws that give it away as a pretty obvious and unconvincing miniature. First, the scale of the fire and sparks aren't right at all. Second, the cars it crashes through in the parking garage don't move normally or receive realistic damage when they're impacted, giving them away as very small plastic models. (You can see at least two cars simply being shoved along unnaturally.) And finally, when the train-car explodes, if you watch carefully during the second shot, you can see the (supposedly concrete) ground ripple briefly in an unnatural way at the start of the shot, and even see the train car wobble at the end of the shot, again very unnaturally, as the pyrotechnics make the small-scale model move.

Revealing mistake: When Alfred is putting Rachel in the back seat of his car to drive her home, he fails to support her head. In the shot from inside the car, as he lowers her, Rachel instinctively and consciously stops her head at about 45 degrees and keeps it there until the shot is over. Had she really been unconscious her extremities would be limp and the momentum of her body being lowered would whip her head back, possibly injuring her neck. In the very next shot, Rachel is seen from Alfred's perspective, her body is already on the seat with her head only falling onto the seat from a couple of inches.

Continuity mistake: During the first board meeting at Wayne Enterprises, there's a woman sitting on Frederick's left. As he says, "I don't think Thomas Wayne would have viewed heavy-arms manufacture as a suitable cornerstone for our business", in the wide shot, their chairs are about half a metre apart, but in the close-up, the chairs are much closer to each other. (00:46:00)

Alfred: Why bats, Master Wayne?
Bruce Wayne: Bats frighten me. It's time my enemies shared my dread.

Question: Shouldn't Bruce be as insane as Falcone? Unless the dosages delivered to Batman and Falcone, respectively, were different. Also, why didn't Rachel yell and scream and go crazy like Falcone did when he was hit?

Answer: Bruce is just as infected as Falcone, however he is rescued by Alfred shortly after he is poisoned and given an antidote by Lucius shortly after that. He is then bedridden for many hours. If he had not been saved as quickly as he was, he no doubt would have been a blubbering mass just like Falcone. The reason Rachel and even Bruce don't react the same as Falcone the moment they are poisoned comes down to how each individual person reacts to fear: Bruce tries to fight, Rachel faints, Falcone screams in horror.

Answer: Also he had taken it before, earlier in the mountains.

Answer: Bruce was thoroughly trained to deal with fear. It's likely he'd be able to hold his mind together better than most.
