Continuity mistake: When Bond is confronting Professor Dent one of his socks varies in height from clip to clip. (00:55:35)

Continuity mistake: When professor Dent throws the gun down it lands on the edge of the bed cover - almost on the floor, but in the next clip it is in the middle of the bed cover. (00:55:40)

Jacob La Cour

Continuity mistake: When speaking to Dent, Bond pulls out a cigarette case. Once the camera changes however, the case is gone and the cigarette is now in his mouth. (00:55:40)

Character mistake: When 007 is interrogating Professor Dent at Miss Taro's house, Dent attempts to shoot him when he asks "who are you working for?" But a minute ago, his gun ran out of ammo when he was shooting at the fake 007 in the bed. So there is no point of picking it up and trying to shoot him. Also, when this happens, 007 says "that's a Smith and Wesson. And you've had your six." This is incorrect, as Dent carried a Colt M1911. However, he did fire six shots before running empty, which is one bullet less than the magazine capacity of an M1911. (00:56:30)

Continuity mistake: During the 'You've had your six' scene, the cigarette in Bond's mouth disappears after he kills Professor Dent. (00:56:30)

Plot hole: When Bond, Quarrel and Felix sail to Crab Key, Felix says that it's 48 hours to the moonshot. Bond replies that they'll "Be back in 12, if not then it's your beat and you'd better bring your marines with you". We know that Bond was still on the island when the rocket took off (it's when he kills Dr. No) and yet it's only when He and Honey are sailing AWAY from the island that Felix shows up with the marines. Why did he wait the full 48 hours (longer even as the moonshot had already occurred) when it was obvious something was wrong when Bond hadn't come back after the 12 or so hours as agreed? (00:57:45 - 01:43:40)

Continuity mistake: When Bond first meet Honey, in the first clip, when she's seen from the front, the sun is to her right (there is a bit of shadow on her left shoulder) but in the next clip, when she's seen from the back, the sun's to her left. (00:59:55)

Audio problem: When Bond awakens on the beach and sees Honey Ryder emerging from the water, Honey is singing "Under the Mango Tree", but when she comes out of the water and shakes her head back, her lips are not moving. (01:00:05)

Factual error: Bond is worried that Dr. No has picked up the sails of Honey's boat on his radar, as indeed the good doctor has (in the movie), but radar systems cannot detect cloth or a wooden mast. (01:01:40)

Continuity mistake: When Honey is with Bond on the beach, she is holding two shells by her chest and lowers them when she is talking to him. But when the camera angle changes to behind Honey in the next shot, she is now holding the shells by her chest again. (01:01:45)

Audio problem: When Bond and Honey are on the beach, the hoods of Dr No come by boat. On the boat, there is a guy shouting through a megaphone. As they sail away again, the man waves the megaphone to his comrades and says, "Full speed ahead." Yet his voice sounds identical to when he was speaking through the megaphone, though he isn't holding it to his mouth anymore. (01:04:00)

Audio problem: When the powerboat shoots at the island, afterward, when the guy with the speakerphone tells them that he would be back later on, he then turns to the driver and tells him to move on, but when he says that, it sounds as though he's still talking in the microphone even thought the microphone is at his side. (01:04:20)

Continuity mistake: When Honey is telling Bond that her shells could be sold for $50 in Miami, not only does the background appear to be the wrong section of the beach (it looks like the area up where her boat is stashed, not down on the sand bar) but at the bottom of the screen, some kind of buoy or flotation device bobs up on the water just behind Ursula Andress. A couple shots later, however, when they're running along the beach, the whole area is completely clear. (01:04:35)

Continuity mistake: At one point Honey is not wearing a bikini top under her wet shirt when they are wading along the creek; the impression of her nipple is briefly visible through the wet fabric. When they are captured she is wearing the bikini top again. (01:06:30)

Continuity mistake: When Bond kills a patrolman on the island, his shirt is dry around his shoulders right after rising out of the water. (01:08:40)

Revealing mistake: Bond, Honey and Quarrel are hiding under the water when the guards arrive. They are not noticed, but one guard comes later than the others. Bond stabs him in the back and leaves him in the water, but there is no blood. (01:08:45)

Continuity mistake: When Bond and Honey get out of the water after Bond killed the soldier and after they clean themselves in clear water, Honey's shirt is dry, when it was completely wet before. (01:09:15)

Revealing mistake: James Bond and his two friends are hiding underwater while Dr. No's thugs search the river with dogs. Bond had very quickly cut three hollow bamboo stalks to use to breathe underwater through the stalks. However, you can see the sections in the bamboo, so the closed stalk sections, separated by the natural divider, would not allow air to pass through. Bond hadn't cleared through the sections with a thin pole, so these would not have been usable as breathing tubes without more work. (01:10:00 - 01:12:00)

Trivia: Because Dr No's lair is underwater, you can see fish swimming through the windows. However, an error was made when using footage of fish, so they look larger than they should. In order to get around this, they added in dialogue where Dr No explains how the window works like a magnifying glass.

Question: Bond is very picky about having a martinti, shaken not stirred. If he drank a martini that was stirred, not shaken, would he be able to tell the difference?

Answer: Actually, yes, he would. The key to a vodka martini, Bond's preferred tipple, is that it should be served ice-cold. By shaking the drink, the ice cubes have a better chance to swish around the whole drink than they would if it was only stirred. It apparently also has the effect of dispersing the ingredients better, giving a different taste to the drink. In the spirit of scientific experimentation, some friends and I tried the drink both ways in a blind taste test a while back - it makes a surprising difference.

Tailkinker

If you shake it, it turns cloudy.

Answer: Shaking also causes more melting of the ice resulting in a milder, if watered down, taste suited to Bond's sophisticated palate.

Answer: We tried that as well on several times and on many various evenings. There is a serious difference.
