Pulp Fiction

Deliberate mistake: Both in the first scene and last scene of the movie, we see Yolanda and Ringo starting the robbery by jumping from their seat and start threatening the costumers. In the first scene, Yolanda says "And I'll execute every motherfucking last one of you." But in the last scene the line changes to "and I'll execute every one of you motherfuckers". Suggested correction: Tarantino has explained that this is not an error, rather, he did this on purpose. When we first examine the scene, we are seeing Ringo and Yolanda's conversation from their perspective. Obviously, because this is their conversation, what we hear first is probably what was actually said. However, at the end of the film, what is said is different because we are no longer viewing the situation from Ringo and Yolanda's perspective, but rather everyone else in the diner, most specifically Jules.

Sounds like a typical Tarantino excuse for a stupid blunder.

Deliberate mistake: When Butch is riding in the taxi and smoking, the cigarette smoke is lazily drifting out of the window of the vehicle. If they were traveling at any real speed (i.e. not on a set with a movie screen behind it) their smoke would be ripped out of the taxi by the wind. Also, when he tosses out some of his stuff you can hear it hit the wooden floor of the stage. (01:12:28)

Suggested correction: This was a deliberate effect to go along with the blurry images outside the window. Tarantino shot this scene to appear like an older, lower budget movie complete with poorly done black and white city scenes outside of the windows. In this scene, for artistic reasons, the audience is meant to be fully aware that these are actors on an obvious sound stage and not in an actual moving car.

Deliberate mistake: Jules' famous Ezekiel quote is actually an expansion of what is in the Bible. Ezekiel 25-17 actually reads: "And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them." Suggested correction: Any wrong-spelled quotes that been said by any character can't even be remotely considered as a movie mistake, character can basically say anything he wants and mistake in any quotes by will as any living person can do.

This mistake is referring to the beginning of the quote, the "path of the righteous man" part. Those few sentences are nowhere in the bible. Jules begins his quote by stating Ezekiel 25:17, but the only part of what he says that's in that verse is the "great vengeance and furious anger" part. Everything else Jules said was added by Quentin Tarantino, which would make it technically a misquote, and thus a Deliberate Mistake.

Continuity mistake: In the scene at the apartment with Brett, Vincent closes the briefcase and leaves it on the kitchen counter. He continues to smoke until it's almost time to shoot Brett. They shoot Brett and the scene fades out to be continued later. Later we see that after shooting Brett, Vincent is focused on Marvin still in the corner having a panic attack. Jules tells Marvin to knock it off and the man comes out of the bathroom. Jules and Vincent shoot him, then Vincent chides Marvin for not telling them there was someone in the bathroom. Vincent only has his gun in his hand, no briefcase. Jules and Vincent argue about 'the miracle' and they leave. Marvin never leaves the corner until Jules tells him 'let's go'. Nobody has the briefcase. (00:18:10 - 01:53:30)

Jules Winnfield: Ezekiel 25:17. 'The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyrannies of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness. For he is truly his brothers' keeper and finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.' Now I've been saying that shit for years, and if you've ever heard it, it meant your ass. I never gave much thought to what it meant, I just thought it was a cold blooded thing to say to a mother fucker before I popped a cap in his ass. But I saw some shit this morning that made me think twice. Now I'm thinking it could mean you're the evil man, and I'm the righteous man. And Mr. 9mm here is the shepherd, protecting my righteous ass. Or maybe it means that you're the righteous man, and I'm the shepherd, and it's the world that's evil and selfish. Now I'd like that, but you see that shit ain't the truth. The truth is, YOU'RE the weak, and I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard to be the shepherd.
