Other mistake: In the scene where hundreds of men burst into the place where Penelope Cruz gives her cooking lessons, you can see that one of the waitresses drops the plate she is holding a split-second before the guys swing the doors open and rush past her.
Other mistake: When the detectives are investigating the murder scene in the mirrored apartment, the photographer is shooting flash pictures of the mirror - straight on. Not a very good idea with a flash...
Other mistake: The radio station had no power or telephone lines anywhere in the vicinity, and the lines would not have been buried in 1937. A telephone is seen on the wall inside the building, yet it couldn't have been connected to anything. There wasn't a generator to power the radio transmitter, because it would have had an exhaust pipe through the roof, nor was there any adjacent building to house a generator.
Other mistake: When Claire Spencer loses her husband's mistress' braid in the lake, she tells him this and Dr. Norman Spencer acts like it's the first time he's heard her talk about it as he picks it out of the water. She has, however, mentioned the braid a short time before this to him, right after the rough sex they've had.
Other mistake: When Bullet-Tooth Tony goes to 'open the dog' in order to get the diamond out, and then Vinny confesses that he has it, the dog starts to go crazy and in one scene proceeds to pull Sol's jacket off. If you look at Bullet-Tooth Tony's face, he is laughing at how crazy the dog is (this would have been a real-life giggle because the character is quite serious at that moment in the film).
Other mistake: There is a scene where Eddie, the mess steward, is taunting the German prisoners while writing numbers on their chests. Watch his writing hand as he's working on 11. He makes an awful lot of strokes, including several horizontal ones. You can see from the next guy, 12, that Eddie's ones are just simple vertical lines, so there's no reason for him to have spent so much time writing on 11's chest. Except that it gave him time to say his whole line. (00:45:40)
Other mistake: If you watch when Haley Joel Osment is being "stabbed" by the bullies, it is extremely obvious that the whole thing is fake. You can clearly see the knife go in under his arm. It is more visible when played in slow motion.
Other mistake: When Brian and Jake are sitting against the fence just after being beaten at basketball, Jake asks why Anna called Brian and not him. Brian yells "What are you, in the eighth grade still? Fynn before Shram." When he says "Fynn" which is his surname, he points at Jake, and when he says "Shram," Jake's surname, he points at himself.
Other mistake: The Mexican newspaper that Michael Douglas is reading in the helicopter has a headline where all of the accents are missing. No newspaper, even a cheap one, would make such a typo error. (01:27:35)
Other mistake: In almost every scene when someone arrives at the hotel, the same funny one-seater eco car is driving by. (00:53:15)
Other mistake: The wet nurse that cares for the newborn Titus is pregnant when she is hired. She is far enough along to be producing milk, yet doesn't give birth until Titus is a year old.
Other mistake: Several times throughout the movie people are looking into the camera. Mostly at the grand opening of Water World, and at the surf competition.
Other mistake: There are references to there being 50 representatives in the pageant, however "Miss District of Columbia" is seen numerous times during the early stages of the pageant.
Other mistake: When Honey Whitlock throws a grenade during the shoot at the Baltimore Film Commission meeting, you see the explosion before the grenade actually falls all the way behind the wall that the explosion supposedly comes from. I think the pyrotechnics guys let the explosion off a little early.
Other mistake: When the titan band was playing in the title game and we see a shot of them the trombone player does not move his slide to the right place for the notes that are played.
Other mistake: When they're running away from the embassy because of the bomb threat he uses his key chain remote to shut off the alarm to his car. Then when they get in there's an envelope, the proof of life, on the floor. The sister asks how they got in. That's a good question. The alarm was on. How did they get into the car?
Other mistake: In the scene where Tzekel-Kan reveals the big tiger thing, he is on his knees facing it. He says "do as I command" and raises his right arm and the tiger raises his left arm. The tiger and Tzekel-Kan should both raise the same hand because the tiger is built to mimic Tzekel-Kan's exact moves.
Other mistake: When James Marsden and Joshua Jackson are fighting outside the prison, you see a close up of Joshua hit with a flower-pot that then cracks. A wide shot is then shown and not only is the flower-pot now intact, it wobbles when it hits the ground and when James moves it suggesting it's a fake rubber pot.
Other mistake: During the landing, when Jerry is getting Ethan and Roger out of the shuttle using the escape pole, the two people going out (presumably the stuntmen) look to in fact be jumping out the hatch, instead of just being pushed/thrown by Jerry.
Other mistake: When the cruise ship is exploding, the scene is obviously pulled straight from the end of another film called Deep Rising. The clips are identical.
