Continuity mistake: When Danny gets shot at the end of the film, his paper flies out of his hand. But the very next shot of him shows that the paper is still in his hand being held over his head while he falls backwards. In one of the following shots the paper is back on the floor, but it's on the opposite side it should have been when it flew out of his hand. It's all shown in slow motion and it's very obvious.
Plot hole: Suzie pulls out some of her teeth with a pair of heavy pliers. This would leave conspicuous tool marks on the teeth that would be visible to the naked eye, let alone under forensic examination. The conclusion would be that Suzie is missing, not dead, and the whole plot would unravel from there.
Revealing mistake: After the sniper is shot he falls through the wall. Look at his silencer when he hits the ground - it bends where it attaches to the muzzle. A real metal silencer wouldn't do that. (00:41:25)
Factual error: When Gregor shoots the guy in the car after nearly killing the little girl, blood sprays over the window, but there's no bullet hole. If the bullet exited his head, hence spraying blood, it should have gone through the window too. (00:55:00)
Continuity mistake: Toward the end when Crews runs in with Red he first knocks his right headlight out, later it is back in, then it's out again. (01:21:40)
Continuity mistake: At the end, the paramedics are taking Samuel L. Jackson into an ambulance. His head is toward the front of the ambulance but in the next shot, Jackson's head is at the back of the ambulance. (02:08:25)
Continuity mistake: When the young Chinese girl is kidnapped, while in the car, her tie is on. When she tries to fight the guy her tie is off in one shot, then back on again a few seconds later. There is also no blood after the first shot, but when the shooter opens the back door, there is blood on Soo Yung's face, but mid fight, the blood is missing, and again blood is present when she runs out. Continuity mistake: During the bedroom scene, Annett Benning is stroking her lover's chin. Depending on the camera angle (pointing at her or pointing at him) her hands switch from left to right and back to the left. (00:43:25)
Factual error: When Javert arrives in Paris to inform the Prefect that he has found Valjean, the government building displays the French Tricolour. This part of the film is set in 1823, during the Bourbon Restoration, so the flag should be the white, Bourbon flag.
Revealing mistake: When Lola screams and the glass clock smashes, you can see the small pellet that makes it shatter, go through the glass and then bounce off the wall. (00:20:40)
Revealing mistake: During the big gun battle right before the last fight scene, Riggs is shown driving a forklift, and knocking over some barrels on top of Wah Sing Ku, leader of the Triads. When the forklift does the 180° turn, you can see that it is not Mel Gibson, but an Asian stunt man.
Continuity mistake: When the Dude is in Jackie Treehorn's estate, he pencils over a pad of paper to see what Jackie wrote down while he was on the phone. He then hurriedly crumples up the piece of paper and shoves it in his wallet. Then, when we see the Chief of Police of Malibu looking through the contents of The Dude's wallet, the paper is there, neatly folded in fourths.
Continuity mistake: When the guys visit Kenny in prison, they put their fists on the glass, the angle of their fists changes between shots. Most notably Scarface (on the right).
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Michael (Jeremy Piven) kills his brother Adam in the parking lot, you can see that when he pulls out of the parking space, he turns his vehicle around. The camera cuts from an outside view (where Adam's minivan is) to inside Mike's car. If you watch, Mike turns his steering wheel to the left but his car turns to the right when the camera switches back.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where DMX is with the two younger guys for dinner and one of them shoots the other, when he drops down on the table his arms fall off the table, but in the next shot they're neatly rested on top of the table.
Visible crew/equipment: As Denzel walks into the lodge for the end scene and stops in the middle of the room, the camera rotates to the right and holds position. Now watch the first window at the right of Denzel, some shadow of the crew reflects on the glass and stops on the wall on the left of the window. (01:42:05)
Factual error: When Christian Slater and Minnie Driver are trying to get out of the water before it reaches the transformer, there is a real big problem with this scene. If there really was a flood and it was rising that high, the city should have shut off the electricity to the entire city, to prevent any electric hazards that may happen in that situation.
Other mistake: During the rigged card game, the angle at which the hidden camera is shown would not have supplied a picture with the view from behind Eddy's shoulder, as is shown on the screen.
Continuity mistake: While the hitmen are kidnapping Nishi's daughter, we see her and her boyfriend in the back of the limo. As the boyfriend is trying to undress her we see that she is wearing ordinary white knickers. Then when Mark Wahlberg lets her use the bathroom, we see him pull her knickers up for her (she is handcuffed), which are now more like hotpants.
Continuity mistake: In the scene when Worm and Mike go to see Gramma about Worm's debt, Gramma says, "What's the matter, Lester? You looking for a little charity?" Worm curses at Gramma and takes the toothpick out of his mouth and throws it on the floor. Gramma grabs Worm immediately and the toothpick is back in Worm's mouth.
