Factual error: When Woody is looking at Andy's high school graduation picture in his room, there is a concert ticket in the upper left corner of the screen and another one just below it for a band called "Humble Beginnings" both with a date of Saturday, November 17, 2009. This date fell on a Tuesday. (00:11:15)
Factual error: As a trash compactor Wall-E does not function logically. When he fills his chest compartment with garbage and runs his internal compactor, the cube that exits his body is the same volume as the trash he puts in, despite that trash having been compacted. He does not add extra trash to fill the empty space after running the compactor - there are three scenes that show him filling up only once with loose garbage and then ejecting a densely compacted cube.BocaDavie
Factual error: Throughout the movie, to make it more authentic, small impurities (specks) are seen floating in the water. Throughout most of it, with great attention to detail, the impurities are always seen to be moving with the flow of the water - back and forth. This always works except in the first scene with Marlin and Coral. The sun is shining through the water, and you can see the anemone waving in the water flow, but the impurities are all flowing in one direction, left to right, never changing according to the water movement.
Factual error: When the plane is attacked by missiles, Helen punches a button on the cockpit console and a screen lights up that says "chaff". The next shot shows the rear of the plane with several burning items coming from it that are supposed to be chaff. However, chaff containers burst open into thousands of radar-reflective strips that are meant to confuse radar-guided missiles (see real chaff in the movie Air Force One). What actually comes out are flares that burn extremely hot to confuse heat-seeking missiles. While it might be suggested that we just never see the containers burst open, later in the missile chase we see the exact same items in view for a much longer time and they never burst open.Guy
Factual error: When the soldiers are asked to find out what gifts Andy is getting at his birthday party, the set out down stairs with half of a baby monitor. Well, any parent who owns one knows that there are 2 pieces to a baby monitor. One half (the larger half) is the receiving end (that takes in the noises) and a smaller half which is the transmitting part (the half that sends out the noises). The half that the soldiers take downstairs to talk through is the wrong half. They take the half that the noise comes OUT of. So, really, they should NOT be able to speak into this part - in real life, they'd hear what was happening up in Andy's room. (00:09:18)
Factual error: The size of the shadow of an object depends upon its distance from the light source, not the surface it falls upon. Lifting the cutout of the bird a few inches closer to the sun as they do would make absolutely no difference to the size of its shadow, yet it quadruples in size.
Factual error: In the scene where Waternoose and Sully are talking, Waternoose gets himself some "coffee", which is sludgy and thick and takes quite a while to pour from the machine. Seconds later, he takes a very quick sip. Since the liquid was so thick and there was little in the cup, it would be impossible for it to pour that fast.
