Trivia: When Rory is walking down the street wearing the Predator mask, there is a bright red/orange alien walking toward him. This is a nod to the original Predator costume that looked like a big bug, the red/orange color was used to film the stealth camouflage scenes. The bug suit was scrapped after a few test shots proved how silly it looked. Jean-Claude Van Damme was in the original costume, but he was let go when the costume was scrapped. (00:45:20)
Trivia: Stan Lee's cameo actually references another cameo he made as himself, in 1995's Mallrats - he's reading the script for that on the train. This marks the first time he's explicitly himself in a Marvel Cinematic Universe film (he identified himself as Stan Lee in Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer), not just a random character. In fact Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 confirms he's actually playing the same character in every cameo, a Watcher Informant, roaming the multiverse and reporting back his discoveries. And given he's reading the Mallrats script here, that means Stan Lee himself was actually an alien being all along, observing humanity and others. And of course that means the real Stan Lee exists in the MCU, so created comics based on characters who really exist, albeit maybe in another universe...but you could go on like that forever.
Trivia: The Anabelle doll from The Conjuring, another film of director James Wan, is visible while Mera is taking Arthur to her submarine ship. Blurry but there.
Trivia: Samuel Jackson spotted that the eye patch his character wears in the movie switched eyes in the promotional posters announcing the movie in Los Angeles.
Trivia: While Mr. Freeze is at Shaugnessy's, when Shaka smacks Dick across the room, he ends up flat on his back, and in the close-up when Dick raises his head, the buttons on his vest switch sides momentarily. Then the buttons revert back (noted in trivia because it's better when clicked through slowly). (00:24:25)
Trivia: Pom Klementieff, who plays Mantis in the Guardians of the Galaxy films, also directed by James Gunn, has a cameo here as one of the patrons inside the club on Corto Maltese.
Trivia: Nolan North, who does motion capture in the games for Nathan Drake, is on the beach at the resort. He asks Nate and Chloe what happened, and they say they fell out of a plane. He says that happened to him once. He's referring to the third game in the Uncharted series where similar events happen.
Trivia: The character of Billy from the original Predator was a major inspiration for Prey. Beyond both being Native American, the film includes nods like Naru's neck pouch, mirroring Billy's. The first Predator screenplay was also originally centred on a Native American protagonist before being rewritten, and director Dan Trachtenberg wanted to honour that by finally giving the franchise a full story led by one.
Trivia: When Jack Russell first begins walking down the hallway with the mural on the walls, the first image he sees is a comic book accurate drawing of Gorr the God Butcher, the main antagonist from Thor: Love and Thunder. (00:02:29)
Trivia: According to director David F. Sandberg, when the Wizard and Freddy run away from Hespera, the kid running is a stunt (despite his resemblance to the actor), for "the actor was still a minor and could only work limited hours." Actress Rachel Zegler added that the stunt's name was Shawn. (01:17:36)
Trivia: The reporter from GBS on the street is played by Will Reeve, Christopher Reeve's son.
Trivia: Jason Scott Lee, who previously voiced David in the original Lilo and Stitch film, has a cameo as the manager for the luau that Nani and David work at. (00:44:18)
