Corrected entry: In the scene showing the local village you can plainly see a large modern yellow crane above the roof line.

Correction: Much too vague. Which scene? For that matter, which village? A more accurate description is needed here.

Corrected entry: The female Russian spy's uniform looks more like the German WWII era uniforms than USSR ones of the time. Additionally, her holster is on the front on her right hip. Soviet officers wore their holsters behind their right hips.

Correction: She is a representative of a very secret "special" branch of the Red Army, dealing with paranormal phenomena. Her uniform naturally is different from any others, and as both this branch and the uniforms thereof are completely fictitious, they can look however the film makers want. In addition, the position of the holster is a matter of personal choice by her. Given her position, she is allowed a lot of personal leeway.

Van Helsing (2004)

Corrected entry: On some of the film's promotional posters, the city view behind the lead characters shows landmarks of Budapest (the Parliament, the Danube and the Chain Bridge) in front of Dracula's Transylvanian castle.

Correction: Promotional material such as posters, artwork and DVD covers are not considered parts of the film, and as such, these are not movie mistakes.

Casino Royale (2006)

Corrected entry: In the poker hand between Dimitrios and Bond, the dealer announces that Bond has won with "trip aces." In fact, he has won with "a set of aces." A set means that the player has been dealt a pair, then flops a third to make three of a kind. Trips means that the player has not been dealt a pair, but the flop brings two more of the same kind to make three of a kind. It is not an uncommon error in terminology.

Correction: If it's "not an uncommon error", then this is a character mistake.

Corrected entry: During Lisa's survey of the lake, the crazy cat lady is cleaning her cats. But when she is doing this, it looks like there is an infinite amount of cats in the box that they are in.

Correction: That's the joke in the scene. As it is done deliberately, no mistake.

G.I. Jane (1997)

Corrected entry: Demi Moore shaves her own head wearing only her uniform and t-shirt. Yet when she finishes shaving there's no sign of even a single hair on her. She also never brushed away any hair from her neck or shoulders. After a haircut like that it would be all over her.

Correction: The scene is not shown in real time, but a series of small shots. During these shots, you can make out lots of hairs that stick to her; however, she could also have taken the time in between cuts to brush some of it away. In the last shot, for instance, of her running her hands over her freshly shaven head, she has had time to even out the few remaining stripes seen in the shot before, and put away the shaving machine. It is not unlikely she brushed away as much hair as possible during the same cut.

Jurassic Park (1993)

Corrected entry: In the beginning, the subtitles say "Isla Nublar. 120 miles off the coast of Costa Rica." However, the correct spelling of the island is Isla Nubar.

Jack Kaltenbach

Correction: Nope, it's the (fictional) island Isla Nublar, both in the book and film. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isla_Nublar.

Shooter (2007)

Corrected entry: In the scene at Wahlberg's home in the mountains, Glover throws him a medal in a case and asks if he knows what it is. Wahlberg answers, "The Congressional Medal of Honor." This is incorrect. It is simply the Medal of Honor. (00:12:10)

Correction: Up until fairly recently, the medal's official name was indeed The Congressional Medal of Honor. It is only recently that the name has been changed, but the old name is still often used in daily speech. In fact, the name of the official society for recipients is still "The Congressional Medal of Honor Society". See http://www.cmohs.org/medal.htm .

Sniper (1993)

Corrected entry: Berenger slugs the guy in the right side with his own rifle, but the guy falls back holding his left arm. (01:13:45)

Joel Gordon

Correction: After he is hit in the side, the Panamanian stumbles and almost falls with both his arms outstretched. We then get a close-up of his face, where his right hand can briefly be seen hovering above his left arm, NOT clutching it. This is a natural place for his hand to be, if he was pressing his right upper arm into his injured ribs, and attempting to shield his upper body with the same arm at the same time.

Corrected entry: When Bond and Melina are being chased in Melina's yellow car, the bad guys behind her hit the speedometer with a bullet. This is not possible, they have to shoot through her to reach this meter.

Vince van Riet

Correction: A bullet ricocheting of another part of the car could have hit it.

Corrected entry: When Berenger goes to kill the guy that has seen Zane the guy whacks him with a board than says something in Spanish which his mouth doesn't utter. (01:12:10)

Joel Gordon

Correction: Yes, it does. His mouth moves just fine, even though he is muttering, which does not require much lip movement. He is still clearly speaking the words.

Amistad (1997)

Corrected entry: The central character, the enslaved Cinque, was not seized in Africa and then immediately exported to Cuba out of the slave depot at Lomboko. Cinque was enslaved a few years earlier by black Africans (a common practice) and eventually sold to slave traders.

Correction: Even if this is correct (online biographies seem to disagree), Cinque's past history is only shown in short cuts and small portions during a flashback. The film makers merely chose to omit the parts that had no bearing on the story of the Amistad uprising, including Cinque's time in captivity while still in Africa.

Amistad (1997)

Corrected entry: When the prosecution is questioning the British naval officer there is an orange, dusk coloured sky behind him, showing through the window. But when Cinque stands up it is broad daylight.

Correction: The shots that show the courtroom in orange light is seen through the eyes of Cinque, and is done deliberately to show how strange, confusing and scary the whole experience is to him. In addition to the light, voices occasionally fade away and rapid cuts are made between characters, with intermittent close-ups of Cinque's eyes and the sweat pouring down his brow. When he stands up to plea for freedom, the film goes back to showing the court room as it really is, in normal daylight.

Corrected entry: When Danny is first typing up his paper on his brother Derek, the first shot of the scene opens with a close up of the computer screen where there are two opening lines of his paper beginning with "American History X; by Daniel Vinyard." He is also swinging his necklace from side to side just a few inches away from the computer screen. In the very next shot, the opening of his paper contains four lines, instead of two. It also shows him swinging his necklace at least six inches below where it was in the previous shot. In addition, while they are impossible to read, considering the amount of space the first two lines take up in his text document, they cannot possibly read "American History X; by Daniel Vinyard.

Correction: This scene is not shown in real-time - it's a small montage showing that Danny is having a hard time writing the essay. As such, the number of lines, font size, heading, etc. keeps changing as Danny is rewriting, erasing or starting over altogether, and we are only shown glimpses of how he is working with the essay. To show, in real time, 30 minutes of a school kid struggling with the opening of an essay would not be very interesting for the movie-goers, either.

I Am Legend (2007)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Neville is hunting deer in his red Mustang, just after he slides to a stop, Neville looks out over the deer running away. Look to the very right in the dark shady building. You see what looks like a dog running away. I thought Sam was the only dog left? (00:05:15)

Correction: It is never stated in the movie that Sam is the only healthy dog left. There are other surviving dogs who have avoided getting infected, but they have most likely become wild.

Red Dawn (1984)

Corrected entry: It is remarked that dissidents have been taken away to an internment camp and no one in town is even allowed to talk about them. However the boys (including Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen) stroll up to the edge of the fence and talk to the inmates for several minutes without being approached by any guards, even when the spot-light is briefly turned on them during their conversation. (00:23:25 - 00:25:15)

Correction: This just shows that the rule is not rigorously enforced. The prisoners in the camp are not considered to be much of a threat (or they would have been taken away to a more secure location, or shot), so the guards don't bother to go out of their way to stop simple conversation at the fence.

Corrected entry: The inscription on the Statue of Liberty in Paris was not hidden, and easily obtainable with an internet search or a few minutes of research in a library. There was no need to use the remote control helicopter and camera.

Correction: Even if there was no need, the characters were still free to choose this way of finding the inscription. Maybe they (as the scientists they are) felt that no sources could be trusted other than first-hand information?

Corrected entry: After Spaceball1 takes the air from Druidia, King Roland falls on his desk. Later, when the air is back, he is on a different part of the desk.

Correction: When he collapsed from lack of oxygen, Roland did not necessarily pass out completely. If he retained just a little bit of consciousness before blacking out, it is possible he could have moved.

Friends (1994)

Show generally

Corrected entry: In an episode shortly after Rachel and Ross break up, Rachel makes reference to the fact that she is like Kip, yet she would never have met Kip because by the time she joined the group, Joey was already Chandler's roommate.

Correction: She could have heard the others talk about Kip, and compared herself to the mental image she had of this (to her) unknown person.

Mad Max (1979)

Corrected entry: Max comes to see Goose in the hospital. When Max goes into the room the clock in the corridor reads 4:00. After what seems to be seconds or minutes, without any indication of a lengthy passage of time, Max leaves the room. Yet the clock now reads 4:52. (00:46:45 - 00:48:15)

Pat Patterson

Correction: We have no way to say for certain how long Max stays in the room, since after he pulls back Goose's cover, the movie cuts. So to say that Max only stayed in the room for "seconds or minutes", is an assumption. He may have stayed there a lot longer.
