American Wedding (2003)

Corrected entry: A big deal is made throughout the film that Jim can't dance and must learn before the wedding. However in the previous films, (mainly at the final party from American Pie 2) Jim is shown dancing with no problems at all.

Correction: There is a big difference between dancing at a party and formal dancing (like you do at weddings). Jim might be able to dance to a pop tune, but that does not mean he knows waltz.

Corrected entry: On his pursuit of Mickie and Irene on the decrepit bridge Charlie stops at a rather wide gap between the planks. If he can't pass it, how could Mickie with the struggling Irene in his arms? (01:34:25)

NancyFelix

Correction: Charlie is afraid of water, and that's a big part of why he has difficulties crossing the gap. Mickie does not have any such problems, and in addition, he has a gun on Irene. He could have forced Irene to cross first, and followed her later, to regain his hold on her on the other side.

Corrected entry: At the end when they pull Irene over for suspecting she is in a stolen car, Irene says she rented the car. At the beginning, she was on her way to her sister's in her own car so she should have been driving her own car back home. (01:42:35)

Correction: Not necessarily. We don't know what happened to the car after Irene was arrested. It is possible some claim had been laid on it by the crooked federal agents and it was being held until the trial, or her sister had picked up her car from the police after Irene was arrested, or several other reasons.

Show generally

Corrected entry: Dale says "I'm not a quitter. Hell, I've been smoking for thirty years." Dale and most of the adults on the show are in their late thirties. He can't have been smoking for that long, unless he started when he was seven or eight.

Correction: Like the submitter says, Dale could have started early. I have actually heard of people who started smoking when they were nine, and it is not impossible that Dale started when he was that age. It is also possible that he exaggerated, and had been smoking for, say, 28 years, which would make him approximately 12 when he started.

Judge Dredd (1995)

Corrected entry: In the final scene inside the statue of liberty Judge Dredd risks his life to prevent Rico from unleashing his clone army. No where in the movie does it mention how the cloned soldiers would spawn with combat training, loyalty to Rico or even the ability to speak English. Rico would create a bunch of naked, confused, illiterate men.

Correction: Even if it is not said specifically in the movie, it does not mean it could not happen. Seeing how it is possible to greatly enhance the maturation of the clones (and as one Judge says, replace the dead Judges in a few weeks), it is not unlikely that some advanced learning process would also take place during cloning. After all, the emergency feature Rico is utilizing was made to be able to crank out fully-functioning, adult Judges.

Corrected entry: In the scene where Bond is driving through Tangiers, watch carefully. His Audi bumps into a extra.

Correction: People get hit by cars every day. Just because someone is in a movie, it does not mean they will have perfect body coordination or driving skills all the time, even if they're James Bond.

Death - S1-E7

Corrected entry: When Death is watching Terrance and Phillip, they are wearing astronaut suits with the American Flag on them. But since Terrance and Phillip are Canadian, shouldn't the Canadian Flag be present on their suits instead of the American one?

Correction: Not if they are doing a skit show where they play the part of American astronauts. They are comedians, after all.

Corrected entry: The name 'Christopher' is a reference to 'Christ's offer' to save us from being condemned to hell.

Correction: Not true. The name comes from Greek, "christo-phoros", meaning "he who carries Christ". In the legend, Offero carried baby Jesus over a river and was rewarded with sainthood (patron saint of travellers) and his new name. Thus, the name does not reflect Christ sacrificing himself, but others sacrificing themselves for Christ.

Corrected entry: On a technical point, when Charlie gets his thumb shot off he could have kept the gun from firing. If it was a Beretta 9mm (did not get a good enough look at it to be sure) - it will not fire if you push back the slide. This will cause the slide to move far enough back that the firing pin will not make contact with the bullet.

Correction: It is not very likely that Charlie has that much experience with facing guns while he is unarmed, and it is also not something many people would remember in a stressed situation. Even if Charlie could have known about this, he did not remember or he did not chance doing it - character mistake or decision.

Twotall

Corrected entry: When Charlie gets his thumb shot off you can slow it down and see it break into a million pieces but at the end when they try to find the thumb it is whole again.

Correction: If you have to use slo-mo to see it, it is not a movie mistake.

Twotall

Corrected entry: This isn't exactly a mistake in the film, but on the box cover, it says Charlie "runs out of medication", but in the film he doesn't, he just forgets about them and leaves them in the hotel room.

Correction: DVD artwork and text are not parts of the movie, so this is not a movie mistake.

Dog Soldiers (2002)

Corrected entry: After the team shows up at the Ryan's trashed military post, Cooper mentions that none of the now-dead soldiers managed to get a shot off against the werewolves. However, Ryan immediately mentions that "they won't die." How could he know that if nobody even got a shot off against them?

Correction: Quite possibly because he knows the basic elements of the werewolf myth, and suspects that none of the soldiers is equipped with silver bullets (which would be a bit out of the ordinary).

Corrected entry: This appears in all light sabre battles. Why is it that the only thing a light sabre can't go through is another light sabre? aren't light sabres just a focused beam of light? And why do light sabres reflect blaster shots? ?They are just a laser as well.

Correction: This is not a mistake, but how the filmmaker (Lucas) decided that this completely fictitious weapon should work. If you really want to know, submit this as a question, or simply go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightsaber for all the info you would ever need on lightsabers.

They also can't penetrate certain metals either. Ray's staff, Magnaguards' electrostaffs, etc.

Corrected entry: Toward the end of the shootout in the hardware store, Jane throws a knife that accidentally gets John in the leg. When he pulls it out, it sounds like it's being pulled from a steel sheath, but the knife was being pulled from skin and bone, so it shouldn't have made that sound.

Correction: Actually, it is being pulled from the high-tech, plastic bulletproof suit John is wearing under his clothes, and which is seen later on when he rips his shirt off in the "shed". Notice how he shows no sign of injury from the knife, other than mild annoyance when it hits him? That's because the knife never even penetrates his skin.

Correction: Not a mistake. As seen several other times in the series, the Enterprise's computer is capable of reading the life signs of it's crewmembers anywhere on the ship. That LaForge's signs appear on the medical display, is simply a matter of output chosen previously by the doctor.

Godzilla (1998)

Corrected entry: The footage of the Nuclear Explosions are actually those of the US "Crossroads" Program during 1946-1953. Ironically enough, it was done in the South Pacific.

Correction: I can not see how this is a mistake. All this goes to show is that Godzilla is a result of years of nuclear radiation and several test bombings, instead of being mutated by a single atomic blast.

From Hell (2001)

Corrected entry: Sir William Gull tells Mr. Abberline he had a stroke recently - since his right arm is lame. A few seconds later he uses his right arm to put down his glasses. Sir William Gull had the first of a series of crippling strokes in 1888, and by the time of the Ripper murders was severely disabled. This is one of many, many reasons that the theory (first propounded by author Stephen Wright) that he was the Ripper, killing prostitutes to cover up an illegal Royal 'marriage', has been totally discredited. Also makes this a definite mistake.

Correction: Sir William in the movie never says directly that his stroke has rendered his arm useless, only that he had a stroke. And it is also possible that he is exaggerating his disability to Abberline to throw suspicion away from himself. It is true that in real life, Gull was disabled, but since this is a film adaptation of a graphic novel, the movie does not need to follow the actual facts of the Ripper case or any of the people connected with it. Since the comic shows sir William with the full use of both his hands, it is not an error from the filmmakers to show the same.

From Hell (2001)

Corrected entry: At the end of the film when Abberline dies from an opium overdose, Godley puts two coins on his eyes. In the next shot, the coins are gone, and are back again in the final shot.

Correction: The coins are there the whole time. In the second shot it is difficult to see because of the distance and camera angle, but you can make out a coin on Abberline's right eye.

From Hell (2001)

Corrected entry: At the end of the Masonic ritual with Abberline, the Masons all applaud. You can see over his shoulder they are all wearing gloves, but the sound is of bare hands clapping.

Correction: At no point in this movie does Abberline take part in a Masonic ritual. The only rituals seen where there is applauding is the initiation of dr. Ferral, and the hallucination Gull has while he is dismembering the last body. In none of these scenes do you see all the Masons present, only a few of them are seen behind Ferral or Gull. There could be several others present who were not wearing gloves at Ferral's initiation, and in Gull's case everything, including the sound, takes place in his demented mind.

Skin of Evil - S1-E23

Corrected entry: In the episode "Skin of Evil", right after Commander Riker gets pulled into the sludge type black substance watch the left side of the screen. When the away team looks into it after Riker's face comes out of the sludge you will see something plop into the goo, that was Geordi's phaser falling out of his holster when he leaned over the pool of goo.

Correction: Not a mistake, as it is possible to lose things like this in real life. The mistake is, however, that the phaser reappears later, which is already listed on this site.
