Corrected entry: In Order of the Phoenix Harry can see Thestrals because he claims to have seen Cedric die. However, in Goblet of Fire, at the graveyard, it says that Harry's eyes are closed due to the pain in his head. All he sees is green light and therefore did not see Cedric die.

Correction: First of all, had this been a mistake, it should be listed under "Order of the Phoenix", as that's were the continuity change would have been noticable. However, this is not a mistake. To say "see someone's death" is a figure of speech meaning you were there when it happened, it does not mean you have to stare directly at them in the precise split second life departs the body. Harry still witnessed Cedric's death, even if his eyes were closed.

Corrected entry: Axel is told that Taggert had retired to Phoenix where he spends time in the woods looking for his golf balls. I have been to Phoenix many times and there is no woods anywhere near there.

SAZOO1975

Correction: It's a figure of speech - what Rosewood is saying, is that Taggart spends his entire time on the golf course. The part about looking through woods for golf balls is a joke to reflect how bad a golfer he is, it is not to be taken literally.

Spider-Man (2002)

Corrected entry: The newspaper advert Peter sees is for amateur wrestlers, yet the wrestling shown is in the squared circle of professional wrestling.

Correction: The event shown is a pro wrestling event - the ad is part of a PR campaign where amateurs get to challenge professionals in between scheduled pro matches.

Liar Liar (1997)

Corrected entry: When attempting to lie about the pen, Fletcher says to himself "You can beat this, it's all a matter of will power", which is a lie. He can't beat it, and it isn't a matter of will power.

Correction: No, but he is expressing his belief. He does not yet know what it is that prevents him from lying, so as far as he knows, it is a psychological thing that can be overcome by willpower.

V for Vendetta (2005)

Corrected entry: In the final scene of the movie, when all of the citizens are removing their masks, you can see Deitrich in the crowd, despite the finger killing him earlier for having a Koran in his house. (02:04:15)

Correction: As explained in an answer to a question, this scene is shown through Evey's eyes. She is imagining Dietrich (and several others who are dead) standing there, as they are the ones V fought and died for.

300 (2006)

Corrected entry: Are we to believe that the Persians who had more than 1,000,000 men had 30 scouts which were killed and used to build the wall and no more? And if that's not the case and they had hundreds of thousands of scouts why the heck didn't they find the goat path or go some other way like maybe not where the 300 Spartans were. (Yes the king wanted them dead but the idea of going around and surrounding is common knowledge to anyone).

Correction: Not only are we supposed to believe it, this is what actually happened at Thermopylae. The wall was rebuilt (though not necessarily with dead bodies), and the Persians did not find the goat path until Ephialtes showed it to them after three days of fighting. It is a piece of history, recorded by several well-known sources.

Friends (1994)

Correction: Character decision, not a mistake.

Corrected entry: Bond and Peter Franks-character change terrible blows on each other during their fight in the lift. In addition their heads and other body parts are rammed against shattering glasses all the time. No cuts, no bruises, no blood. Impossible.

S.Holmes

Correction: The notes on the "submission" page specifically says that suspension of disbelief has to be factored in, and uses action heroes' impossible stamina as an example. As this is a common movie convention, it is not considered a mistake.

Twotall

Corrected entry: At the very end of the book Harry watches the horseless carriages about to take him to Hogsmeade, at this point Cedric has already been killed so he should be able to see the thestrals that pull the carriages as in the next book.

Correction: This has been explained in a correction to "Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix". J.K. Rowling has herself publically explained that you do not see thestrals immediately after observing a death. The witness has to overcome the initial shock of seeing a sudden death first.

The Da Vinci Code

Corrected entry: In the Da VInci Code, Opus Dei is depicted as a clandestine society of sinister monks. In reality, Opus Dei is an organization made up of lay people who lead rather ordinary lives. It contains very few priests and no monks at all.

Correction: This is similar to the entries about the Priory of Sion, which have both been corrected. The book's interior logic is that these societies are in fact much older and secretive, and that the organizations you find today (and in real life) are just innocent-looking cover-ups for the real thing.

Rocky Balboa (2006)

Corrected entry: In the montage of Rocky walking through and purchasing food items in the Italian Market, Rocky is seen in one shot talking to a woman at a produce stand (right after the shot of Rocky purchasing a fish). In the background of this shot is a man with a yellow apron holding up a camera to his face presumably to take a picture of actor Sylvester Stallone. (00:08:50)

Correction: Or he might want a picture of the world-famous ex-heavyweight champion Rocky Balboa. People still come up to him and ask to be photographed with him, it's not out of place that some try to snap a picture covertly.

300 (2006)

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the movie, when they are inspecting the "newborn" baby to determine his worthiness, the baby is at least several weeks old (the umbilical cord is gone and the navel is healed).

Correction: It would still be considered a "newborn" baby if it was a few weeks old. And it stands to reason that the Spartans would wait a while before giving a healthy-looking baby its final inspection, as it might take a while for signs of weakness or sickness to be obvious.

Corrected entry: There is an American M60 on the side of a Russian chopper.

Correction: No, the chopper you're referring to is an American Bell UH1D, that apparently had been captured during the war. It is not out of place that the American weapons are still mounted on it.

Twotall

Corrected entry: When Rambo flew the helicopter to save the other POWs, there are several scenes depicting him using the machine gun on the helicopter to shoot at the baddies. This is not possible as he was flying solo and therefore can't possibly reach the machine gun which was at the back of the helicopter.

Correction: No, but there are two machine guns on the chopper - one M60 (that requires a separate door gunner), and one M134 Gatling minigun, which is a helicopter-mounted weapon fired by the pilot. All shots of the gun Rambo uses to sweep the camp show the rotating barrels of the Gatling.

Twotall

Corrected entry: When Rambo is packing his explosive arrowheads notice he only packs four in his case, yet he fires five.

Correction: We never see the entire packing and preparations Rambo does, it is all part of a montage of small second-long shots. Just because we only get to see one pack of detonator heads, it does not necessarily mean he packs just the one.

The Fifth Element (1997)

Corrected entry: When David and Leeloo are at the check-in desk, David pulls out a fake ID stating him as Korben Dallas. When the real Korben Dallas appears, he takes the ID off David, looks at it and says, 'I sent David here.' He didn't know David's name before and the ID states that he is Korben Dallas, so Korben wouldn't get the name from the ID.

Correction: He did know David's name before - they had met when Dallas first brought Leeloo to Vito Cornelius.

The Shining (1980)

Corrected entry: As Jack screams from his nightmare, Wendy runs through the kitchen and we see the large fireplace before she enters The Colorado Lounge. We saw this spot before as Mr. Ullman took them on the tour of the hotel in the beginning of the movie and the floor lamp across from the fireplace next to the desk has disappeared. (00:21:10 - 00:59:30)

????

Correction: Between the interview and Jack's nightmare, several days, or even weeks have passed. There's plenty of time for the Torrances to have moved the lamp.

The Shining (1980)

Corrected entry: After the green tennis ball startles Danny he looks straight down the hall and we see one cylindrical ash tray on the right. Four shots later as he walks down the hall towards room 237 another large cylindrical ashtray appears on the left of the hall. (00:58:55)

????

Correction: Many hotels has (or had, while smoking indoors were permitted) ashtrays standing evenly-spaced throughout the hallways. I have seen this many times, in several hotels in different countries. And for economical and aesthetical reasons, these trays are bought in bulk and therefore looks similar.

Corrected entry: When Pyle is sleeping, his covers are all rumpled and down past his waist. When the guy has the strap in his mouth a few seconds later, he is tucked in snug as a bug. Kinda hard to miss.

Correction: That's because at the same time the gag is placed in Pyle's mouth, two other Marines are shown throwing more covers over him and pulling down on them hard, effectively "tying" Pyle to the bed and preventing him curling up to protect himself.

The Shining (1980)

Corrected entry: The production team obviously tries to age The Gold Room back to the 20s in the party scene. But they make a mistake inside the bathroom, which has several late twentieth century air ducts, and mid twentieth century acoustic tiling on the ceiling. There's absolutely no indication that these ghostly apparitions, or Jack's delusions, oscillate in time between different decades and that they are not mistakes . (01:26:30)

????

Correction: Except that, as you yourself pointed out in another entry, details from the bar changes between Jack's first visit (1970's setting) and the second (1920's setting). There are also nothing to indicate that the images can NOT alternate between time periods as they see fit. There are no set rules as to how supernatural forces can and can not act.
