Visible crew/equipment: After Vic hears the news that Aceveda is firing Danni, Vice talks to him upstairs in his office. After they've finished talking, as Aceveda is about to open the door to leave the room, there is a silhouette of a boom mic reflected in the glass door.
Visible crew/equipment: During Vic and Shane's interrogation with a young man wearing a red shirt with a large number two on it, Shane is standing with his arms out and both of his hands are on the edge of table. There are a series of camera shots taken from underneath Shane's arms. In two of these shots, you can see both of Shane's hands on the table, yet another hand appears in the top left of the screen. It seems the cameraman is trying to shield the sunlight from his eyes/the camera.
Visible crew/equipment: Shane and Vic are talking with Kern Little in his recording studio. When they talk in a confined hallway, look closely in between Kern and Shane's heads as the men shuffle in their positions. There is a reflection of a boom mic that sways from left to right.
Visible crew/equipment: Julien is escorting Tomas out of The Barn, they pass through a set of double doors and talk. This shot is filmed though the glass of these doors. To the the right of screen appears a camera lens and part of a cameraman's arm. After the shot changes, the new shot is being filmed from this camera.
Continuity mistake: When Claudette, Danni, Julien and Wagenbach are at the overturned churro cart crime scene, Claudette is seen pulling a pair of white gloves from her pocket. The gloves then disappear from her hands in a wide shot of her talking to Julien about the crime scene, but reappear in the next shot.
Continuity mistake: Claudette and Dutch are questioning a man in a leather jacket about his involvement in a meth lab. Claudette passes the man a photo, he doesn't recognise the girl, tosses it back across the table and Claudette reaches for it with her right hand. The shot changes and now the photo is in Claudette's left hand as she sets it down.
Continuity mistake: Aceveda and Vic are interrogating a man about the 'Narco Corrido' murders. Aceveda pushes the man into the corner of the room and begins to kick him. He get about six good kicks in before Vic diffuses the situation. After, Aceveda storms out of The Barn in anger, and Vic views the recording from the interrogation room. The footage is inconsistent as to what transpired earlier, in fact it is an entirely different take. Aceveda only manages about two kicks before Vic says "Enough, enough" - this and the rest of the dialogue is also conflicting.
Continuity mistake: As Vic, Lem and Ronnie are talking to the two men at the table, they restrain the men (seemingly only Juan is handcuffed, with his arms behind him - Ronnie seems to only pin one of the other men's arms behind him). After Vic, Lem and Ronnie walk away, at no point do they undo at least Juan's handcuffs, but immediately the two men are rubbing their freed hands.
Continuity mistake: During the fight scene between Shane and Tavon, the stereo speakers get knocked off the shelf. After they crash into the wall, and a picture falls off, they tackle each other and fall to the ground. As they tackle each other, we get a shot of the floor at the bottom of the shelf and there are no speakers there. Later when Mara comes into the room, as she picks up the iron, the speakers are visible in the background.
Continuity mistake: When the wife begins to slap her husband's body and face repeatedly after discovering he slept with a child, the man's facial expression changes instantly between shots. First it is expressionless, then he begins to grimace and bare his teeth, and then instantly his face is expressionless again.
Continuity mistake: After Vic and Shane try the "smoke-out" and the suspect flees, Vic begins chase. When the suspect is climbing a wooden gate to escape Vic, Vic crashes through the gate and tackles the suspect. Watch as Vic crashes through the gate, the gate swings open to its left, is intact, and still attached to its hinges. In the next shot Vic and the felon have both landed on the gate, which somehow is underneath them both. Also, when Vic falls, he falls on the victim's right side with their backs facing toward the camera. After the shot change, they are now on the gate, and facing opposite to how they should be.
Continuity mistake: When a father and his son are in the interrogation room with Vic and Claudette, the father starts hitting his son after realising he was involved in drugs again. Vic begins to intervene, and is seen behind the son with his right arm over the son's right shoulder. He begins to pull the son away to their left, when suddenly Vic is in between both father and son with his arms spread out, keeping them apart.
Continuity mistake: When Claudette questions Wagenbach's motives for helping Danni with the Sergeant's exam, she is flicking through some papers with both hands. As Wagenbach walks behind her, her hands are now occupied with a pen and a half eaten sandwich. This transition happens almost instantly.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Mackey is cooking a BBQ during his family's pool party, keep an eye on Ronnie (who is mainly to the left of the screen, wearing a burgundy polo and khaki shorts). When Vic is asked whether his son could keep a spider in his room, Ronnie squats behind a woman and hands her a drink. When Vic wife then says "if that thing gets loose" Ronnie is shown handing the woman the same drink. Also about a minute after this, when Terry is telling Vic about how he wants to join the team, over the duration of their conversation, Ronnie is seen squatting beside the same woman three times in a row.
Audio problem: When Mackey is interrogating Leon the camera is pointed at Mackey as he asks Leon "why are you and the other shop owners all telling the same lie?" The camera then switches over Mackey's right shoulder so we can see Leon's reaction to Mackey's question. Look closely at Mackey's mouth in this shot, you can see him mouthing the exact words that he just spoke.
