Mixed Doubles - S3-E9

Continuity mistake: Magnum, defeated, receives the racket from TC and makes his way to the court. In the scene in the locker room, his injured finger was not taped. When he talks to his insidious double partner before the match, the index is fully taped. (00:35:00)

Mixed Doubles - S3-E9

Continuity mistake: When an annoyed Magnum tells TC in the locker room "Well then you can play!", the coach, mentor and potential killer is holding the racket turned towards a different direction (by the flat or by the side). (00:34:05)

Mixed Doubles - S3-E9

Continuity mistake: Magnum suggests Carrie to quit; she tells him it's not that easy. Obvious discontinuity in the hair position at the transition between the two shots; big curtain of hair draped around the shoulder, clears itself back in the second. It happens again, and it is again self-evident even later when Higgins barges in and there's an overhead shot from his position. (00:30:00)

Mixed Doubles - S3-E9

Continuity mistake: Seeing Higgins in the audience, TC dismounts from his big boy chair and prepares to storm across the court, pencil on the ear and clipboard in his right hand. To the other end of the net, the pencil is at a different angle and the clipboard jumps to the left hand. (00:19:40)

Mixed Doubles - S3-E9

Other mistake: In the study, Phyllis Reardon retorts bitterly at Magnum that he was kissing Ginger 'yesterday'. But they are staying at Robin's nest, and it's impossible that a whole afternoon and night went by without them talking about what happened - including Magnum to Higgins. And the doctor just came to give her a sedative for the shock...or an earlier day? (00:12:45)

Mixed Doubles - S3-E9

Continuity mistake: Magnum is introduced to the capricious Carrie Reardon. She says that she hopes he's better than the last babysitter they gave her. Behind her, you can spot some tennis balls between courts. Kenny Phelps chases her, and the court is all clear. (00:09:35)

Mixed Doubles - S3-E9

Continuity mistake: Rick guesses the player Higgins managed to go against, "Tappy" Larsen. As he says the name, he puts the racket hand on the net and the ball hand behind it. Next shot and both are on it. Similar mistakes happens at the end of the reminiscing part of the convo, with Rick again suddenly changing position (hand on the racket all of a sudden) between shots. Mixed Doubles - S3-E9

Continuity mistake: When Higgins makes his way towards the net and we get the wide shot of the court, there are obvious shadows from the foliage all over the playing space, which is totally sunlit in the other angles. (00:03:35)

Mixed Doubles - S3-E9

Visible crew/equipment: Higgins butts in the innuendo-laced tennis exchange between the three friends at the beginning of the episode. Very first frame he's in, and look at the boom mike shadow on the left of the screen, on the floor. (00:03:30)

Ki'is Don't Lie - S3-E2

Revealing mistake: In the fight against the chauffeur that covers the retreat of Morgan Fairchild, the face of Tom Selleck's stunt double and his thinner moustache are noticeable in several shots - in particular the beginning when they fight close to the camera, and when the bad guy bearhugs Magnum. (00:44:00)

Did You See the Sun Rise? - S3-E1

Revealing mistake: Going through the database with Lieutenant Maggie Poole, Magnum spots finally Ivan's picture. This involuntary puts a rather hilarious twist to one of the most famous and dramatic endings of a TV episode, since that picture from the military intelligence database is exactly from the 'future', aka the ending of the episode; Ivan is wearing the same black suit and tie (pretty weird already with the setting) that he will wear in the ending, and is even in front of the same tree leaf by leaf. (01:13:30 - 01:34:20)

Foiled Again - S3-E7

Other mistake: The culprit does not have wounds on their hands, but whoever tampered with the box left blood inside it. If the blood is irrelevant to the case and could have been left by Higgins, then it's unclear why it has an effect on the culprit and make them admit their guilt.

Foiled Again - S3-E7

Continuity mistake: When the contestants are announced (in a thick French accent), it is said that Higgins fences from the right position. Rick later states, accusing Higgins, that "A lot of people heard Higgins ask for the right side." When the odious rival shows up, he says "You asked for the left position?" to which Higgins nods. (00:11:50 - 00:13:00)

Foiled Again - S3-E7

Other mistake: At the beginning of the episode Magnum has some banter with Higgins, but also needs his help with a tie knot he's clueless about, to the point that he can't even pronounce its name and calls it "double Winslow", with Higgins promptly correcting him. And he's completely useless at doing it. However, in the previous season's episode "The Last Page", Magnum was helping Rick with his tie and giving him expert and sensible advice about it and explicitly referencing the Windsor knot, in fact discussing the merits of the half Windsor.

Of Sound Mind - S3-E12

Higgins: How fiendishly deceptive of you, Magnum. I could have sworn I was hearing the emasculation of a large rodent. To my great surprise, I see the sounds are emanating from what I thought was a harmless musical instrument.
Magnum: Cute Higgins, real cute.
Higgins: Why Magnum? Why do this terrible thing?
Magnum: Higgins, I'll have you know I used to be very good. I was the second best sax player in my High School band!
Higgins: Well, how many sax players were there?!
Magnum: ...Anyway. I just saw this in a pawn shop window and thought I'd like to try and get my chops back.
Higgins: May I suggest that your "chops" are irretrievable.
Magnum: Higgins, did you come here just to abuse me!?
