Continuity mistake: When Beast is saying "A viral weapon could be easily concealed," his right hand is raised, and you can see that his thumbnail isn't long. When he begins pressing buttons on the control panel a couple of shots later, his right thumbnail is now long. (00:16:34)
Other mistake: When Rogue drops the mug of coffee onto the floor, you can see that the coffee touches her boot, yet her boot does not get any stains on it. (00:04:05)
Continuity mistake: The position of Cyclops' body changes when Jean Grey is cradling his head. At first, he is sitting slightly upright. When the shot changes, he is lying down. (00:04:40)
Continuity mistake: After Jean Grey, Rogue and Wolverine locate Gambit's mini-jet, they land the Blackbird behind a row of plants. When they emerge from the Blackbird, the plants have disappeared. (00:08:55)
Other mistake: When Gambit pushes Bella Donna down, the wedding veil that she was wearing comes to a stop in midair. (00:14:25)
Continuity mistake: When Gambit is looking at himself in the mirror while wearing a tuxedo, you can see in his reflection that he is barehanded. In the next shot when he removes the tuxedo, he is wearing his usual black gloves. Also, the rose on the tuxedo goes from being on his right side (reflection's left) to being on his left side just before he removes the tuxedo. (00:13:15)
Continuity mistake: When Gambit pushes Bella Donna over, she is on his left, and there is a tree stump on his right (out of shot). When the shot changes, she is up against the tree stump. (00:14:25)
Continuity mistake: When Rogue flies back towards Gambit and Bella Donna, Bella Donna is standing behind Gambit. When the shot changes, Bella Donna is standing in front of Gambit. (00:15:35)
Continuity mistake: When the External is emerging from the water, the Thieves Guild's tithe box is missing from its respective tree stump. In the next shot, it is back in place. (00:16:30)
Other mistake: Julianne Klemm, the writer for this episode, has her first name misspelled in the opening credits as "Julaianne." (00:02:07)
Continuity mistake: When the Danger Room monster has ensnared Cyclops, the slime coming off its tentacles is green. When the shot changes, the slime is orange. (00:02:18)
Continuity mistake: When the External states the Guild of Thieves have dishonored the tithe, both the Thieves' and Assassins' tithe boxes are missing from their respective tree stumps. (00:17:10)
Continuity mistake: When Gambit is asking why Cyclops wants his Danger Room session to be tougher, there is a microphone a few inches from his mouth. When the shot changes, the microphone has disappeared. (00:02:44)
Continuity mistake: When Gambit answers the phone, he brings it to his right ear with his right hand. When the shot changes, he is holding it to his left ear with his left hand, and he is also facing the opposite direction. (00:02:53)
Revealing mistake: When Gambit bumps the toggle switch that increases the Danger Room difficulty, you can see it actually moves itself before his elbow touches it. (00:02:55)
Continuity mistake: When the Danger Room alarm is beeping to notify Rogue that Cyclops is in danger, in the first shot, the control panel for the alarm consists of the screen and rows of buttons below it. When the shot changes, about half the rows of buttons have been replaced by what appears to be a phone. (00:03:57)
Continuity mistake: In the flashback when Gambit runs up to two of his fellow guild members to tell them the others are almost there, he runs up to the one in the blue vest. When the shot changes, he is suddenly facing his brother Bobby. (00:05:21)
Continuity mistake: When the chosen one for the Guild of Thieves drops his tithe box, it lands on the inside of his right foot. When the shot changes, the box is suddenly equidistant between his feet. A couple of shots later, the box has moved away from him, resting next to the tree stump. (00:06:17)
Answer: Chris Potter, the original Gambit voice actor, did indeed quit the role in the 4th season. His last episode was The Phalanx Covenant Part 1 so it seems reasonable that Fox would limit the use of the character even though it was recast. It doesn't appear that Potter left the role due to animosity, he stated in an interview that he wished to play Gambit in the first live action X-Men film.
