Plot hole: After Storm's attempt to escape the Genoshan prison is thwarted, she ends up in the ocean right at the shoreline of the beach, where she is captured by a Sentinel. Aside from the fact that it makes no sense for a Sentinel to be hiding in the ocean in the event that a mutant tries to escape the prison, there is absolutely no way that a two-story tall robot could hide in the ocean right by the beach, as the water would be way too shallow. You can even see that the water level only goes up to the Sentinel's ankle area when it is standing upright in the ocean. (00:03:15)
Suggested correction: Perception. (1) The Sentinel isn't as close as it appears. If it were close, then she would have been caught in its waves as it emerges. Also, she would be looking only at its chest circle. It's several yards away. (2) She washes ashore. She fell from the sky. She couldn't have fallen from that great height into shallow water without hitting bottom. (3) It's also a two-story tall robot. Its weight would sink it into the sand. So it could have very well been down that deep.

Continuity mistake: When the Sentinel drops Storm, there is a female guard standing by its left foot. When Trask is approaching them, it is now a male guard by the Sentinel's foot. (00:03:49)

When the shot changes to Gambit reassuring Jubilee that Storm is alive, he is shown to be working with a single piece of rebar. Factual error: When Professor X is calling Moira McTaggart in Scotland, the phone number he uses is shown to have only dialed the exit code of 011, followed by a fictional seven-digit number with a 555 prefix. Since he is calling from the United States, he would have to dial the country code (44) and area code for the right part of Scotland. Plus UK numbers at that time had at least 9 numbers. (00:08:20)

Continuity mistake: Before the mutants ambush the guards, they are walking in a single-file line, with Sunfire in front, followed by Jubilee, Mystique, Caliban, an unnamed female mutant, and Aurora. A couple of shots later, either Aurora or her similarly-dressed twin brother Northstar is suddenly at the front of the line. (00:08:55)

Continuity mistake: When the Sentinel puts Jubilee in the detention box, it is still dark outside. A couple of shots later and there is a considerable amount of daylight in the sky. (00:09:30)

Continuity mistake: After Gambit jumps out of the moving hovercar, it comes to a stop in the middle of the road. When the shot changes, the hovercar is suddenly on the left side of the road (note the yellow lane dividers), and is no longer casting a shadow. (00:12:00)

Continuity mistake: When Gambit tries to grab the gun, Cable stops him by placing his left foot on top of it. When the shot changes, it is now Cable's right foot that is on the gun. Additionally, yellow lane dividers in the middle of the road disappear when Gambit first reaches for the gun, and then reappear a couple of shots later. (00:12:15)

Continuity mistake: After Gambit unlocks his collar, he lets the collar fall to the ground. In the next shot, the collar is visible on the ground a couple feet in front of him. In the shot after that when he retrieves the gun, the collar is no longer visible on the ground. (00:12:50)
