How I Met Your Mother

Duel Citizenship - S5-E5

Continuity mistake: Ted says that Marshall and he only ate jerky and drank Tantrum on their road trips. In 2-17 "Arrivederci, Fiero" however it's established that Marshall had a rule forbidding any kind of food or drink, even groceries, in his Fiero. (00:01:15)

Suggested correction: Marshall came up with the rule because of Lily and Robin. Before they met, in the era when Ted and Marshall had road trips, they would've had food and drinks.

Nope, the no food or drinks rule is because his brothers made him get 12 hot cups of coffee without lids and drive with them naked, and he got burnt. That was when he got the car, before he met Ted.

As Fast As She Can - S4-E23

Continuity mistake: Barney drives fast to prove to his friends that he can talk his way out of a ticket, however in the earlier seasons, when Marshall's car broke down, they tell a story about Barney driving and he cannot drive, and seems to have a fear of driving.

New this week Suggested correction: In s2e17, it's explained via word and flashback that Barney did not know how to drive at the point of the flashback. Ted is then shown in the flashback instructing Barney how to drive, so he would have had about 2 years driving experience by then.

Blitzgiving - S6-E10

Continuity mistake: When Ted is explaining the curse of the blitz, they are all shown at the bar. But the blitz guy says he is going to leave because he just got Madden 2k1. If it's 2001, why is Robin in the shot? They didn't know her then.

New this month Suggested correction: He may have gotten Madden 2k1 later than the release date. It's not said anywhere that it is 2001. He may have got it at a later date.

Exactly. I've still got FIFA 98 I play occasionally.

Bagpipes - S5-E6

Character mistake: Marshall's whole career focus is saving the environment, so it's a poorly written character choice that he buys plastic glasses to avoid a dish-washing feud, boasting that they can just throw them away. (00:20:10)

Suggested correction: Alot of stuff can be recycled. He would simply recycle the used plastic.

You can recycle the plastic but you have to wash it first, defeating all the purpose of buying it in the first place.

Sandcastles in the Sand - S3-E16

Continuity mistake: When Lily goes to the bar with her friend Michelle, Barney says "I want her around all the time." It then cuts from Barney to Lily's slightly shocked looking face, obviously from a previous cut/scene change, sitting at the table with them - she should still be walking to the bar with Michelle.

New this week Suggested correction: Those were different days. Robin agrees to watch Simon's practice before we see Michelle the first time, then the scene cuts to Robin watching the band practice, then the news feed and then the next scene with Michelle. All the character's clothes changed indicating a different time.

Spoiler Alert - S3-E8

Other mistake: When Barney shows Marshall the video of a dog pooping on a baby, he puts in the CD upside down.

Suggested correction: Lots of blank CDs that you can buy do not have labels on the top and therefore are just shiny on top (like they are on the bottom).

Not true. He points the writing at the camera and puts it writing side down.
