The Wild Wild West

The Night of the Brain - S2-E21

Revealing mistake: Mr. Braine screams as his steam-powered chair crashes into the bandstand. If you look closely at the next shot, just before the explosion, you can see that the dummy now in the chair has its head bowed forward. It also has light brown hair, rather than Mr. Braine's silver hair. (00:47:10)

The Night of the Brain - S2-E21

Revealing mistake: When Gordon is looking outside on their train car platform, it is obvious the background desert scrub is a painted scenery flat.

The Night of the Big Blast - S2-E4

Revealing mistake: It is obviously a dummy body that West and Gordon net, then drag behind the carriage before the dummy body explodes.

The Night of the Big Blast - S2-E4

Revealing mistake: The "corpse" Miklos wheels into Dr. Faustina's laboratory is pretty healthy for a dead guy: you can see his chest moving up and down as he breathes. (00:27:00)

The Night of the Big Blast - S2-E4

Revealing mistake: During the sword fight on the stairs, Artemus' stunt double's face is in plain view in several shots. (00:30:00)

The Night of the Raven - S2-E3

Revealing mistake: When the marshal opens the train's rear door and comes in to arrest Lana, you can see wrinkles in the "sky" outside. It's really a painted cloth backdrop. (00:48:40)

The Night of the Vicious Valentine - S2-E20

Revealing mistake: The red-headed villain falls face first into the wedding cake. The front of his face is covered with cake and icing. West "punches" him on the face - but punches are not real - that is why West has no cake or icing on the fist that "punched" the face covered with cake and icing. (00:46:30)

The Night of the Tartar - S2-E19

Revealing mistake: When West opens the wall safe in the personal train, there is no locking mechanism shown on the opened door. Without this, the door of the safe could just be opened without rotating the combination lock on the outside. (00:01:50)

The Night of the Infernal Machine - S2-E14

Revealing mistake: Right after Zeno Baroda says, "M'Guigan, I'm going to kill you," he shoots at the door. Before the bullet is discharged, one can see the door is already damaged where the door is about to be shot. Also, one can see the streak (moving from the left to right) of the prop used to cause more damage on the door from the bullet's impact. (00:27:30)

The Night of the Eccentrics - S2-E1

Revealing mistake: Two scenes after the opening credits, West fights the strongman Titan. When Titan throws West (who is horizontally positioned on Titan's shoulders) down to the ground through the circus tent, a mattress upon which West lands is mistakenly exposed.

The Night of the Big Blast - S2-E4

Revealing mistake: The face of the stuntman playing the bomb-carrying Artemus Gordon double is obvious, and looks nothing like Ross Martin, who plays Gordon.

Scott215

The Night of the Raven - S2-E3

Revealing mistake: The strings used to move Dr. Loveless' plants are visible.

Scott215

The Night of the Raven - S2-E3

Revealing mistake: In the pit with West and Princess Wanakee is a cat that is obviously superimposed into the scene, as West and Wanakee cast stark shadows, but the cat does not.

Scott215

The Night of the Eccentrics - S2-E1

Revealing mistake: The eyes of Vance Markham's corpse move before he falls over.

Scott215

The Night of the Golden Cobra - S2-E2

Revealing mistake: Indentations from West striking the board with his knuckles are seen before he hits it with his fist.

Scott215

The Night of the Flying Pie Plate - S2-E6

Revealing mistake: The wires used to open and close the pie plate's entry hatch are visible.

Scott215

The Night of the Feathered Fury - S2-E17

Revealing mistake: The string used to make the rattlesnake's head move is visible.

The Night of the Wolf - S2-E27

Revealing mistake: Talamantes' giant pet spider looks pretty impressive - until it moves and reveals that its wiggling legs are made of rubber. (00:23:30)

Jean G

The Night of the Wolf - S2-E27

Revealing mistake: Though the stock footage is of a real wolf, the animal West wrestles with is too-obviously a dog wearing a fake pair of wolf ears. In later wrestling matches between West and the wolves, the attacking beast is a stuffed prop that never moves its legs, head or jaws at all. (00:03:30)

The Night of the Ready-Made Corpse - S2-E11

Revealing mistake: The town of Wickenberg has very peculiar sunlight: it casts shadows in several directions at once. Also notable is the far end of its main street, where a distinct line of demarcation reveals the presence of a painted studio backdrop. (00:00:10)
