Suggested correction: Just to clarify, Conner was said to be 15 years old when Season 10 debuted, so it is an even bigger age discrepancy.

Lanford's Elite - S9-E16

Continuity mistake: In the episode Terms of Estrangement Part 1, Roseanne goes for an interview at "The old Wellman Factory" which was closed down and turning into a printing press. Then, in the episode Lanford's Elite, Roseanne and Jackie team up with Edgar Wellman Jr. to try to save the factory from shutting down by paying off past due debts and making all the current employees part owners.

A Stash from the Past - S6-E4

Audio problem: During the phone conversation with Darlene and David, you can hear the audience laughing following a line from David. The scene then cuts to Darlene's end for a moment. When we cut back to David, we hear the end of the previous laughter.

Dan's Birthday Bash - S1-E9

Continuity mistake: When Dan heads back to the bar after hitting the drywall with his hammer, Roseanne goes there to find him. While they're talking, we see a crooked painting to Dan's left, and a lamp hanging straight. Then, in the next shot, suddenly the painting has been straightened, and the lamp is crooked. (00:17:55)

Suggested correction: I'm not sure what the ruling on these types of mistakes is, but "Dances with Darlene" (ep23 and production code 425) was aired out of order. It was the last episode filmed in the season and meant to be a season finale, but aired prior to "Scenes from a Barbecue" (production code 423). One reason seems to be this is a Mother's Day episode and aired on the Tuesday before Mother's Day, and the next episode was Jay Sanders' last appearance.

Halloween IV - S5-E7

Plot hole: Just before Roseanne arrives at the Lodge Halloween party, Fischer is holding a small object in his hand that he slightly adjusts to a certain position. Roseanne then arrives dressed as Lady Liberty. When she raises her torch and asks someone for a light, Fischer immediately flicks on the cigarette lighter that he was already conveniently holding and ready to ignite for no apparent reason.

Like a Virgin - S3-E3

Plot hole: Before her date, Becky asks Roseanne to help style her hair. After the family teases her, Becky says she'll just do it herself. Shortly after, she comes downstairs with a perfectly executed and complicated French-braid hairstyle that would be all but impossible to have done by herself and in such a short amount of time.

Trivia: Roseanne's three ex-husbands have appeared or worked on the show during its run. Her first husband, Bill Pentland, wrote a few episodes for the show and played Dan's friend, Freddy, in a season one episode. Tom Arnold, her second husband, played Arnie and was an executive producer. Finally, her third husband, Ben Thomas, had a cameo as a police officer who pulled her and Jackie over in an episode later in the show's run.

Question: The original couch changes skirts somewhere along the line. The new skirt is beige (does not match the overall material like the original) and appears to be a couple of inches taller than the original. I surmise either Rosanne or John have back issues and the couch legs were increased so to raise the level of the seating. What was the reason?

Answer: Clearly, the only person who could truly answer this question would be a set designer for the series, or someone else directly connected to the series who would have this kind of detailed information. I looked on IMDb.com and Cheryl Lanner is credited as set designer through 1997. I quickly found her Facebook page, and I directed your question to her. After some time, Ms. Lanner has replied as follows: "I decorated the last season 1/2 but after 9 seasons the sofa just plain got worn out and had to be repaired from 8 years of usage. There was a board put on the sofa but as I've said, it was due to so much usage. If they had back problems I was unaware of them, but you can be assured that if that was the problem it would have been fixed immediately. Take care Michael!"

Michael Albert

Answer: One episode of season seven has a moment when Dan hops over the couch and breaks one end of it. The board was probably added so they could keep using it like nothing happened.
