Homecoming - S1-E15
Continuity mistake: When Jack shows Locke the suitcase full of guns, you can see a stick visible in Locke's right hand. However, when Jack asks if Locke knows how to use a gun, you can see that after the camera has panned around, Locke is now holding the gun with both hands, with the stick nowhere to be seen. (00:27:10)
Tabula Rasa - S1-E3
Continuity mistake: Inside the closet, when Kate is about to turn the lights off, she is reaching out with her left arm to turn it off. When it cuts it's her right arm turning it off. (00:17:25)
Tabula Rasa - S1-E3
Continuity mistake: When Charlie takes the suitcase from Claire, he puts it on the wheel chair. At first the suitcase lies straight on the wheel chair. When it cuts it's askew. (00:14:30)
House of the Rising Sun - S1-E6
Continuity mistake: When Jack is packing water bottles in to the sack and Locke says "I think One of Us should stay and help Charlie salvage the wreckage", you see Jack putting a bottle in to the sack. His hands are now empty, but when it cuts he suddenly has a new bottle in his hand which he puts in to the sack. (00:16:05)
Exodus (2) - S1-E24
Continuity mistake: In 'House of the Rising Sun' (01-06) Charlie tells Locke the man at Sydney Airport made him check his guitar. However, in this episode, we see Charlie squeezing his guitar into a luggage compartment onboard the plane.
Continuity mistake: During Claire's second visit to the psychic, her hair changes position between shots. In one shot, it's hanging loose and in the next, it's tucked behind her right ear. (00:27:10)
Born to Run - S1-E22
Continuity mistake: When Sawyer dumps Kate's belongings out of the backpack onto the sand, their positions on the sand change between various shots. (00:28:45)
Continuity mistake: When Sayid steps into the trap, in the close-up of his feet he removes his right foot, and the left remains on the ground, inside the closing rope. However, in the next shot as he's lifted in the air, it's his right leg that is caught up in the trap. (00:03:15)
Do No Harm - S1-E20
Audio problem: After Claire's baby is born, when Jack speaks to Kate he says, "It's a beautiful healthy baby," and in the next shot, facing Kate, Jack is still speaking but nothing is heard. (00:41:55)
Exodus (1) - S1-E23
Visible crew/equipment: There is a crew / filming boat visible in the top right hand corner of the screen right after Sawyer retrieves the rudder and is pulled on board the raft. Right after Michael says "You just saved our ass, buddy" the camera pans up and the crew boat is visible for two seconds. Green hull, gray cabin with a flap flapping in the wind.
Exodus (1) - S1-E23
Revealing mistake: In the scene just after Sawyer is mounting the radar on the mast of the shop, Sayid hands Michael a flare gun. He opens it to show that there is just 1 shot left. If you look closely the flare gun shell has already been fired (notice the center fire pin is indented). (00:34:30)
Exodus (2) - S1-E24
Factual error: In the flashback that reveals the phone call Michael makes to his mother about Walt, Walt is seen playing a Nintendo Gameboy Advance SP before the phone call. After the phone call, when Walt stands behind Michael, Walt tells Michael that he needs new batteries. However, The Gameboy Advance SP works with a rechargeable battery which cannot be replaced with common batteries.
Other mistake: When Jack and Rose talk the second time on the beach, they talk while it is cloudy and overcast. However, as Jack stands up to leave, he is brightly illuminated by sunshine.
Exodus (1) - S1-E23
Visible crew/equipment: At the moment they have just left on the raft, and the shot goes from the raft to the beach while it is in the water, you can see a boom mic pointing up in the air. This is quite clear for all to see.
The Greater Good (a.k.a. Sides) - S1-E21
Continuity mistake: When Sayid speaks to CIA Agent Melissa Cole after Essam's death, in the first shot the body laden stretcher is wheeled to the vehicle and the back door is opened. When Agent Cole says, "Plane ticket and walking around money," in the background the stretcher is gone and the door is closed. But when Sayid asks, "What happens to his body?" the stretcher reappears as the body is being put into the open back door. (00:40:40)
Continuity mistake: When Sayid opens the lid of the compass to show Jack, in the close-up, all of Sayid's fingernails are short and trimmed, yet, in previous and following shots (including next episode "Special") some of his fingernails (such as the thumbs) are very long again. This occurs in many other episodes, such as "Exodus 2". (00:24:40)
Continuity mistake: In the very beginning of the pilot episode, Jack runs out of the jungle. He looks around and hears distant screams. While he is looking around, you can see through the bushes that there is nothing but beach on the other side. But when he turns around, the entire beach just on the other side of that bush is filled with wreckage. The wreckage would have been visible from the other side of the bush had it been there.
Born to Run - S1-E22
Continuity mistake: At the hospital, the way Kate holds the vase of flowers differs between shots. In the front shot, she is holding it by the neck of the vase, and in the rear shot, she is holding it by the bottom. (00:06:50)
Chosen answer: None of the main characters died in the plane crash. Many died on the island after the crash (Jack, Charlie, Sun, Jin, Daniel, Juliet, others), some lived on the island for an apparently long time after the crash (Hurley, Ben, Bernard, Rose) but some lived lives off the island after the crash (Sawyer, Kate, Claire, Miles, Aplert, and Lapidus). Remember that Christian tells Jack that "time has no meaning here," (in Purgatory). When everyone meets at the church, they are at the end of their lives however long that may have been and will now "move on" together. They look like they did on the island because that is the way they best remember each other.
Guy
That has to be the clearest explanation of the ending I've ever read.
