The Caves of Androzani - S21-E6

Trivia: On the DVD commentary, Peter Davison remarks that when Christopher Gable whacked him across the face with the back of his hand, it actually hurt quite a bit, even though they'd discussed it beforehand. Davison believes that Gable couldn't see him properly with his mask on, although a more likely explanation is that Gable got too carried away.

Warriors of the Deep - S21-E1

Trivia: During production of this story, Peter Davison (The Doctor) and Janet Fielding (Tegan) announced their departures from the series. Producer John Nathan-Turner had offered Davison a fourth season in his role, but he feared being typecast if he stayed beyond three years on the programme.

The Twin Dilemma - S21-E7

Trivia: Colin Baker also provides the voice of a Jacondan at Freighter Control in part three of this story.

The Caves of Androzani - S21-E6

Trivia: Peter Davison named this as his favourite serial from his three years on the show. He enjoyed the script and working with the director, Graeme Harper, praising Harper's direction for bringing more pace and energy to the programme, as well as a more cinematic style, which was lacking in his earlier stories. Davison has said that if he had been given more scripts like The Caves of Androzani, he would have considered staying on for a fourth season.

The Three Doctors - S10-E1

Visible crew/equipment: (Ep. 2) When The Doctor, Jo, and Dr. Tyler are taken into Omega's palace, in the first shot of the multiple passageways (right before Jo says that it looks like Aladdin's cave) the curved chalk actor's mark is visible on the floor, then we see it again in three following shots. Note that when they're all escorted further inside, just as Dr. Tyler comments about the matter/anti-matter not making sense, Jon Pertwee looks down, presumably to make sure he hits his mark.

Question: In which season and episode is Gallifrey destroyed, or is it just a shocking new plot development for the new series?

Answer: It was never destroyed on-screen; it was intact at the end of the TV movie, and destroyed by the start of the 2005 series. It was destroyed in the novel "The Ancestor Cell," but in a completely different manner to what happened in the series.
