Continuity mistake: Establishing shots of the Matthews' house show the doorknob on the exterior of their front door to be on the left-hand side, but shots from inside the house show it to be on the right-hand side.
Continuity mistake: When Eric is suggesting to Mr. Feeny that they go out and look for women, some shots show Feeny gripping his wine glass, while other shots show his hands down on the table with the glass several inches away.
Continuity mistake: When Mr. Timmer picks up the mini vase, just before Cory tells him to put it down, you can see he is the only one touching it. When the shot changes, Mr. Timmer and his wife are both holding onto it. Cory also instantly has his left arm raised and index finger pointed at the Timmers.
Continuity mistake: When the bartender fills up the mug of root beer, after the foam settles, the mug is a little more than half full. When Mr. Feeny hands the mug to Eric, it is suddenly filled closer to the top.
Continuity mistake: When the bartender fills up the mug with root beer, the foam has instantly settled when the shot changes.
Continuity mistake: When Eric is performing his one-man show, he states in the intro that he was born on June 24, 1978. However, in the season 1 episode "It's a Wonderful Night," Eric fails his test to get his driver's license. That episode takes place during the middle of the school year, but if Eric was born in late June, he would have had to wait until after, or at the least the very end of the school year to try and get his license, as the minimum age in Pennsylvania for obtaining a driver's license is sixteen.
Sixteen Candles and Four-Hundred-Pound Men - S4-E9
Factual error: The match between Vader and Jake the Snake is supposed to be taking place in Philadelphia, presumably the Spectrum, but the establishing shot of the building is actually the Great Western Forum in Inglewood, California.
Continuity mistake: When Topanga walks away upset from Cory, she closes her locker in such away that the bottom half of it is not flush with the frame. Moments later when Cory and Shawn are talking, the locker is fully closed.
Continuity mistake: When Mr. Feeny hands Cory the CD, Cory holds it between both hands. When the shot changes, he is holding it with only his right hand, while his left arm appears to be folded around his abdomen.
Other mistake: When Cory throws the CD out of his bedroom window, if you listen closely, you can hear the CD land in a soft terrain. However, the next day at school, Mr. Feeny pulls the CD out of his suit pocket and says that it sailed through his living room window and landed on his walnut credenza. If the CD managed to make all the way into Feeny's house, then the sound of it landing would not be audible.
Janitor Dad - S4-E6
Deliberate mistake: Chet comes home from his first day as school janitor brandishing a paycheck, which impresses his wife and in turn changes Shawn's mind about Chet working at the school. Being that it was Chet's first day on the job, there's no way he would already have received a paycheck. Even if it was payday, his employment would have begun on the first day of the next pay period.
Suggested correction: It's possible it was pay for training or orientation days that were before his official start date.
Factual error: When Cory and Topanga first enter their new couples dorm, they discover it to be a dump. The entire dorm is filthy, cabinets are falling apart, there are large bugs crawling on the floor, and there is no clean running water. Student housing laws would require the university to restore the dorm to liveable conditions before any student could move in. If the health department saw the conditions of the room, the university would undoubtedly be fined for failing to take corrective action. (00:07:45 - 00:10:36)
Character mistake: After Cory and Topanga have their argument in front of everyone, Cory remarks to Shawn that it's their first fight ever. Cory and Topanga had several fights in the show prior to this. (00:12:50)
Other mistake: Early in the episode, Amy mentions that she is 7 1/2 months pregnant. This episode takes place around Valentine's Day, which means she would have become pregnant at either the end of June or the beginning of July. However, she revealed she was pregnant around the time Cory, Shawn and Topanga had their senior prom, which would have been around the end of May or beginning of June at the latest, prior to their high school Graduation. So she should be around 8 1/2 months pregnant at the least.
Character mistake: When Sarah the waitress is filling up Cory and Shawn's coffee cups, she puts hardly any coffee in them, with Cory's barely being a couple of drips. A waitress that works on tips wouldn't be so lackadaisical about filling a customer's coffee cup. Cory and Shawn just sat down as well, so it's not like she was just topping them off. (00:02:58)
Continuity mistake: When Shawn is saying to Cory "No pudding, no 'Woo-hooing'," Cory is holding a cup of pudding with his arms raised to around his chest area. When the shot changes, his arms are suddenly down at his sides. (00:01:17)
Other mistake: When Mr. Feeny is telling the story about Topanga and Cory in the first grade, he mentions that Shawn told him to leave them alone. However, the season 3 episode "City Slackers" established that Shawn wasn't in school with Cory and Topanga until he was around 12, and that he was in and out of 5 schools in different states before then. (00:18:40)
Factual error: The Starry Night painting that characters look at in the Van Gogh exhibit is mentioned as being the original painting itself. However, if you compare the painting presented in this episode with the real-life painting that is displayed in the Museum of Modern Art, you can see that it is an imitation, as the colors are brighter and the little details in the painting are not as prominent.
Revealing mistake: When Topanga is picking up the letter off the ground, you can tell the snow isn't real because it doesn't behave like real snow and run together when she scrapes the letter against it. It looks more like shredded paper being swept aside. (00:20:38)
The Eskimo - S5-E13
Character mistake: In the opening scene, Cory remarks that they have been in high school for 4 years and there's nothing left for them to be taught. They began high school in 7th grade and are now midway through their senior year, so they have actually been in high school for 5 and a half years.
Suggested correction: There's a difference between being at the same school and being in high school. For most students, high school is 4-years long (9th-12th grade). When I was in kindergarten, I went to a K-12 school. If I graduated from that school, I wouldn't have said I was in high school for 13 years.
It's openly stated numerous times beginning with season 2 when they are in 7th grade that they are now in high school. The school is even called John Adams High School, and not something like John Adams K-12 or anything like that. I remember being baffled by this growing up, because high school for me did not begin until 9th grade, and even then, we didn't attend an actual high school until 10th grade. It may be unconventional compared to real life, but the show firmly established that they were in high school starting with 7th grade.
