How to Bury a Millionaire - S6-E7

Continuity mistake: Near the end of the show, Niles has signed his lease for the Shangra-La with his Noel Coward pen and he puts on the table next to the lease. A couple of shots later we can see the pen lying on top of the lease, even though no one touched it.

Three Valentines - S6-E14

Continuity mistake: When Niles is engaged in his ironing fiasco, Eddie is watching his every move. When Niles heads to the kitchen to get spot remover, Eddie is sitting on the footstool. The next shot shows Eddie turned to watch Niles - but he is now in the chair; it is not just a tricky angle, as he actually lays his chin on the back of the chair. There was no time for Eddie to jump from the footstool to the chair.

Secret Admirer - S6-E6

Continuity mistake: At the end of the show, when Martin, Niles, and Frasier are leaving Niles's place to go out for ice cream, they leave Maris's opened package on a large footstool next to a decorative metal bowl. When they return (closing credits) with their ice cream the package and its wrappings are gone - even though no one was left behind in the apartment.

Hot Ticket - S6-E4

Character mistake: In the last minute of the show, Frasier and Niles set to leave the bar. Frasier puts money on the bar to pay and the wife comes over and talks to them. Frasier moves the remaining money to his other hand. You can see his hands slightly twitching, and he accidentally drops the money on the floor, but acts like he is putting it in his pocket instead of picking it up, and leaves.

Dinner Party - S6-E17

Continuity mistake: During the scene where Daphne is upset because there's a spot on her dress, Roz is standing with her arms by her sides - then in a quick shot change, her arms and hands are up in front of her, holding her purse and wrap.

Dr. Nora - S6-E20

Continuity mistake: When Dr. Nora's mother comes into Nora's booth, she locks both doors so Frasier can't get in. However, Nora gets upset, quickly gets up and opens the door, without having to unlock it.

Shutout in Seattle (2) - S6-E24

Continuity mistake: After Bulldog loses his job he goes to Roz for a hug. He puts his right arm around her upper arms but the next shot shows his arm around her shoulder, with no time to have shifted naturally.

Three Valentines - S6-E14

Continuity mistake: When Niles goes to take off his pants he looks over at Eddie who is sitting on the right side of the armchair. The next shot shows Eddie getting out of the chair and onto the footstool - however, he is climbing out of the left side and he had no time to shift position. (00:01:55)

Dr. Nora - S6-E20

Continuity mistake: Near the end of the show, Dr. Nora's mother is chasing Nora through the corridors of KACL, behind the windows of Frasier and Roz's booth. We can see them go by, from window to window. The shot then cuts to Frasier, looking horrified, and we see Nora's mother run by a couple of windows again - even though this could not possibly have happened in real time.

IQ - S6-E19

Continuity mistake: When Frasier and Niles are in the restaurant, Niles is under the influence of medication. He lays his head down on his arm just as one of the geniuses arrives and greets them. In the next shot, his head is lying right on the table, with no time for him to have switched positions.

Three Valentines - S6-E14

Continuity mistake: During the opening scene, Niles is on the phone to his chef, and behind him, on a table, are two champagne glasses (beside the phone base)and 3 candles. He hangs up the phone, moves away and 2 of the candles and the glasses have disappeared, and the phone has been pushed further over. He sits on the couch, then goes to get the ironing board - when he sets it up we see the glasses and candles are back.

Frasier's Curse - S6-E2

Continuity mistake: In the opening scene, Niles goes to pour sugar on his spoon and the top of the sugar dispenser comes off and disappears - it looks like it goes into his lap. We don't see the top again until after the teenager says, "Aren't you going to yell at them?" and suddenly it is in plain view, on the right of the table.

Three Valentines - S6-E14

Plot hole: During the scene when Frasier is in Cassandra's hotel room, he phones Roz and puts his phone back in his jacket pocket. He hangs his jacket on the back of the chair and eventually gets into bed with Cassandra, who soon falls asleep. He talks to her but she doesn't answer. We then hear him phoning Roz - but there was no time for him to get out of bed and get the phone - and no sounds of him doing this.

Show generally

Question: Counting his role on Cheers, Kesley Grammar has played Fraiser for twenty years. Is this the record for the longest portrayal of a character by a TV actor?

Answer: It equals the record of James Arness of "Gunsmoke" for the actor who's played the same part on TV NOT in a soap opera. If you include soaps there are two main contenders - William Roache, who's been playing Ken Barlow in "Coronation Street" in the UK since 1960. Don Hastings has been playing Robert Hughes in US soap "As the World Turns" since 1960 as well.
