Caught in the Act - S11-E15

Continuity mistake: Nanny G and Frasier are in the kitchen of his apartment and there is a tray with three empty wine glasses. Nanette takes one and pours herself some wine; a few seconds later Frasier grabs the tray and goes into the living room, but now he has four empty glasses on the tray when there should have only been two. At no time did he add glasses to the tray.

Goodnight, Seattle: Part 1 - S11-E23

Continuity mistake: (This is for "Goodnight Seattle.") When Eddie is eating the pate with the ring in it, in the wide shot we see that he's finished all the food and is licking the plate clean. It then cuts to a closeup, and the plate is suddenly full of food. Back to the wide shot, and he's licking a clean plate again.

Murder Most Maris - S11-E8

Continuity mistake: Niles, Frasier, Marty, and Daphne are at Niles' apartment and they have just found out Maris killed her lover. Niles' overcoat is on a chair behind the couch. He decides to go the police station, tells Daphne to stay put, and heads towards the hall on the left. In the next shot he is carrying his coat and heading out the front door with Marty - there just wasn't enough time for him to have got over to his coat and back to the door.

The Babysitter - S11-E4

Continuity mistake: Right at the start when Frasier is talking to Niles in the furniture shop, at one point he says "Don't you hear that," and holds his hand in a fist. The shot cuts instantly to Niles and you can see his hand is now about a foot higher and his palm is suddenly open.

Crock Tales - S11-E22

Other mistake: This is for the episode "Crock Tales" (the 22nd of the season). Almost all the flashback sequences are wrong in time. The one from 2003 has Niles and Daphne coming back from their honeymoon but they married in 2002. Although not ever couple take their honeymoon directly after they've married, the wedding episode "Ring Cycle" mentions them going on their honeymoon.

A Man, a Plan and a Gal: Julia - S11-E2

Continuity mistake: When Julia answers her cellphone, she bunches up her napkin in her hand, but the next shot shows the napkin lying flat on her lap again; this would be almost impossible to do in such a short time with only one hand free.

High Holidays - S11-E11

Continuity mistake: When Frasier and Niles are talking about Freddy, the ice cream carton on Marty's table goes from being parallel with the remote to being perpendicular - and then changes position again - no one goes near it during their conversation.

Boo! - S11-E16

Continuity mistake: At the hospital the nurse comes over to talk to Frasier about his father - her paper on her clipboard is flipped over the back of it and her hand is holding the side of it. A couple of shots later, with no opportunity to change positions, the paper is no longer flipped over and her hand is lying on top of the clipboard.

The Placeholder - S11-E5

Continuity mistake: Frasier puts the tuna on the coffee table for Mr. Bottomsley and the cat jumps up and starts to eat it - he is facing the couch. In the next shot we see Eddie come into the room and suddenly the cat has moved and is facing Marty's chair - without enough time for the change.

Guns 'N Neuroses - S11-E9

Continuity mistake: Marty picks up the head of the statue that was shot off and holds it for a couple of seconds. He then puts it down by the phone. After Daphne says, "All right, what's the plan?" we see it is in his hand again, and he puts it down again.

Miss Right Now - S11-E19

Continuity mistake: In the opening scene, Ronee and Frasier are talking at his table about her mother. Frasier asks, "She doesn't approve of premarital sex?" and his arm is folded in front of him. In the next shot, his elbow is on the table and his hand up in the air. Later on in the scene, Ronee's mother shows up at the door and we see Marty lunge to the right to grab his cane. A couple of seconds later the shot goes back to him and we see him lunge to the right for his cane again.

A Man, a Plan and a Gal: Julia - S11-E2

Continuity mistake: Martin is standing at the door talking to Frasier about taking Eddie to the vet. From one shot to the next the leash changes position from being over Eddie's head to being under his chin - without enough time for this to happen naturally.

Guns N' Neuroses - S11-E9

Continuity mistake: Marty's shoebox is sitting on the table. Niles walks by and Daphne throws him a banana from the kitchen - the camera shows the box again, and it has turned about 45 degrees.

Miss Right Now - S11-E19

Continuity mistake: Frasier and Marty are sitting in their living room talking about Frasier's problems with women. Marty has his fork poised above a plate with a slice of cake on it. The next shot shows the fork on the plate, next to the cake. Marty would not have had time to put the fork down in the split-second in between.

Murder Most Maris - S11-E8

Continuity mistake: In Cafe Nervosa, after Niles has taken off all his clothes, Frasier wraps him up in a couple of Cafe Nervosa aprons and Roz picks up Niles' clothes from the floor. In one shot, we see his tie towards the top of the pile in Roz' arms, and in another it is swinging free at the bottom of the pile. The clothes change position in her arms from shot to shot. In one shot the boxers are still on the table, with a newspaper. In a subsequent shot, Roz has the boxers. When Niles is being taken outside, the table nearest the door has only a cup on it. In the next shot, we see the newspaper on the table again.

Selling Out - S1-E9

Frasier: Roger, at Cornell University they have an incredible piece of scientific equipment known as the Tunneling Electron Microscope. Now, this microscope is so powerful that by firing electrons you can actually see images of the atom, the infinitesimally minute building blocks of our universe. Roger, if I were using that microscope right now, I still wouldn't be able to locate my interest in your problem.

Caught in the Act - S11-E15

Trivia: When Nanette tells Frasier she's tired of playing her children's show character, she asks him if he knows what it's like to play the same character for twenty years. By this point, Kelsey Grammer had been playing Frasier for twenty years: eleven on 'Frasier' and nine on 'Cheers'.

Show generally

Question: Counting his role on Cheers, Kesley Grammar has played Fraiser for twenty years. Is this the record for the longest portrayal of a character by a TV actor?

Answer: It equals the record of James Arness of "Gunsmoke" for the actor who's played the same part on TV NOT in a soap opera. If you include soaps there are two main contenders - William Roache, who's been playing Ken Barlow in "Coronation Street" in the UK since 1960. Don Hastings has been playing Robert Hughes in US soap "As the World Turns" since 1960 as well.
