The One Where the Monkey Gets Away - S1-E19
Corrected entry: When Chandler and Joey are talking to the girls in towels you can see the apartment number is 5 but when Monica and Phoebe are talking to Mr Heckles his apartment number is also 5.
The One with the Fake Monica - S1-E21
Corrected entry: In the scene where Monica returns home with the $20,000 check, after Chandler reveals it is real Rachel remarks "I can't believe this is a real $40,000 check."
The One with the East German Laundry Detergent - S1-E5
Corrected entry: In the last scene of the episode when the friends are sitting on the sofa in Central Perk, Ross has the ice on his forehead because he hit it on the machine in the launderette. At first Rachel is holding it on Ross' head, then in another shot Ross is holding it, then Rachel again, and then in the final shot Ross is holding it. It may be that they did keep switching but it's unlikely and looks more like the scene was filmed twice and the mistake was made when it was edited.
Correction: Actually if you watch them all the time you can actually see them switch hands so there is no mistake.
The One with the Dozen Lasagnas - S1-E12
Corrected entry: Monica has to get rid of the lasagnes because they contain meat. However, when Rachel comes back into the apartment after dumping Paolo, Phoebe is eating a lasagne with Monica, even though she is vegetarian.
The One with Two Parts: Part 1 - S1-E16
Corrected entry: In this episode, Chandler is speaking to Nina, when they both agree that their processing term, "WENUS" is short for "Weekly Estimated Net Usage Statistics". However, this is inconsistent with the previous episode: Season 1, Episode 15, The One with the Stoned Guy. In that episode, Chandler is speaking to Monica, Ross, Rachel, Joey and Phoebe in Central Perk, when he says that "WENUS" is short for "Weekly Estimated Net Usage Systems".
The One with the Fake Monica - S1-E21
Corrected entry: Monica comes home drunk after going for drinks with fake Monica. Watch how easily she sobers up, when the police call to tell her they've arrested fake Monica.
Correction: Ever gotten a "shock" while drunk? Often times it causes you to suddenly sober up for a few minutes while you process it.
Corrected entry: In the scene with Joey in the shower the camera cuts several times from Joey to the director. During this scene look to the background (behind the director) and you will see boxes which are marked with the name 'Monica'.
Correction: Monica Geller is not the only Monica in Friends world. They could have been filled with things belonging to a character in the movie by that name.
The One with the East German Laundry Detergent - S1-E5
Corrected entry: When Janice comes into the coffee shop to talk to Chandler, she brings several shopping bags which she sets by the couch. But when she gets back from the restroom and Phoebe breaks up with her for Chandler, she leaves the coffee shop without getting her bags from in front of the couch.
Correction: I don't see it as a mistake that someone who has just gone through a break up might have other things on their mind, and therefore forget to pick up their shopping bags.
The One with the Monkey - S1-E10
Corrected entry: This episode is taking place the week before New Year's Eve, so why is Joey still working as an elf in a department store? During one scene, Monica is dismantling the Christmas tree and Joey walks in wearing the elf costume and talking about the single mom he met while she was waiting in line with her kids. These dates don't seem to add up.
Correction: A week before New Year's Eve is Christmas Eve, they are exactly seven days apart. It could also be on Christmas Day. Joey would still be working as an elf because little children want to see Santa on Christmas. Monica would be taking the tree down because she's obsessive about cleaning and the Christmas celebration at her apartment was over.
The One with the East German Laundry Detergent - S1-E5
Corrected entry: In this episode, Ross reclaims their washing machine after the Horrible Woman cons Rachel out of it, and Rachel tells him it's brilliant because she "can't even send back soup". But in The One With The Flashback - set before this - Rachel sends back a whole round of drinks.
Correction: When she sends back a round of drinks in the flashback episode, she is a secure, wealthy, engaged woman surrounded by her country-club friends. She might have been more secure to point out other peoples' mistakes as the wealthy, engaged Rach but in TOW the east laundry detergent, she is not wealthy OR engaged and she is constantly guffing up coffee orders. She may be more insecure now.
The One with George Stephanopoulos - S1-E4
Corrected entry: In this episode, Rachel tells her rich friends in the coffeehouse that, among other things, she does her own laundry. However, it is not until the next episode that she does laundry for the first time.
Correction: Rachel may have been showing off to her "rich friends" as they appear to look down their noses at her for working in a coffeehouse as a waitress instead of being a married woman. They patronise her for this and she mutters something about putting "blobbies" on the cookies. She may have lied about her housework abilities also to make herself feel better.
The One Where Rachel Finds Out - S1-E24
Corrected entry: In the final episode of the first season, Rachel recalls how Ross considered asking her on a date on her first night in the city. However, the incident actually occurs (in the pilot episode) on her SECOND night in New York.
Corrected entry: At the beginning of the episode where they are all watching Joey's play, Chandler says that you could always spot someone who has never seen one of Joey's plays. At this time Phoebe is looking inside the leaflet about the play the shot changes to a shot of her and she is looking at the front of leaflet saying the title makes her jump.
The One with the Sonogram at the End - S1-E2
Corrected entry: Ross already told his parents that Carol was a lesbian in Episode 1 "I told mom and dad last night, they seem to have taken it pretty well." But in the 2nd episode Ross tells his parents after dinner at Monica's like it was the first time he told them.
Correction: He told them the first time that they were getting divorced, but not why.
The One with Mrs. Bing - S1-E11
Corrected entry: Listen carefully when Ross and Mrs. Bing are kissing and Joey comes by - you will hear a woman in the audience saying : "Ooops ." (00:09:00)
Correction: Friends has never made it a secret they have live audiences. As such, someone in the crowd reacting to what is happening is not a mistake.
The One with the Candy Hearts - S1-E14
Corrected entry: In this episode Ross wants to go and ask Kristen on a date, so Chandler and Joey give him an egg and tell him to return it to her. When he comes back and says and she said yes,he kind of wiggles his fingers around and we see that they are empty, but when he hugs Chandler he says that he still has the egg in his hand. Did it just magically appear out of nowhere?
The One Where Nana Dies Twice - S1-E8
Corrected entry: In 'The One Where Nana Dies Twice' Joey says he never thought Chandler could be gay. However, in 'The One With The Flashback' Joey tells Chandler, when he becomes his roommate, he is okay with the 'gay-thing'.
The One with Two Parts: Part 2 - S1-E17
Corrected entry: When George Clooney answers the phone (while Monica and Rachel are pretending to be each other), he starts handing the phone to Rachel, saying "Rachel, it's your dad", but should be passing it to Monica (as he thinks her name's Rachel). The angle then changes, and now he's handing it to Monica.
Correction: In the first shot it is not clear that Noah Wyle's head is in the way. If George Clooney passed the phone straight to Monica then he would hit him. In the next shot it is clear that he passes the phone while avoiding him which is why he appears initially to be passing it to Rachel.
The One with the Dozen Lasagnas - S1-E12
Corrected entry: In the one where Joey and Chandler buy a foosball table, Monica and Ross come over to play. The score as the blue team and are on the right hand side of the table. When the credits are rolling, Monica is playing against Joey and Chandler again. She is on the left hand side of the table but scores as the blue team again.
Correction: Look carefully, she scores as the red team. No mistake.
The One with the Dozen Lasagnas - S1-E12
Corrected entry: In the scene where Joey is using his fingers to "talk to Ross as his future baby might", the camera switches between Ross and Joey many times. Just before Joey says "What is a lesbian?", you can see that Joey was laughing, but finally covered it up before delivering his line. (00:03:00)
Correction: Joey is joking around and having fun with his friends. Just because they are characters in a sitcom, it doesn't mean that each time they laugh, it's an actor goof.
Correction: The girl's apartment was 5 (before it changed), Mr Heckles has got apartment 8.
