The Simpsons (1989)
Continuity mistake: When Homer sits down in the movie theater, all the rows are completely full, including the row behind him. When he turns around to talk to Selma, the seats directly behind him are empty. Then, when Homer turns back to the screen, the Sea Captain and Dr. Hibbert appear sitting directly behind him.

Red Eye (2005)
Continuity mistake: When Lisa is on board the plane, she is wearing stiletto heels (best seen when she is collapsing in the bathroom). However, when she is running through the airport, she is wearing flat shoes. This is most easily seen when she comes of the transporter belt, when she trips and one of her feet swings into the air. Later, when she kicks Jack on the stairs of her house, she is wearing stiletto heels again.

The Da Vinci Code (2006)
Continuity mistake: When they are in Temple Church and Teabing is trying to force Sophie to open the cryptex, Langdon asks to try and says something like "But let me have a moment". In this shot, his left hand is raised, and is next to his face, but when the angle changes to show him from the front, his hand is suddenly down by his side.

Criminal Minds (2005)
Factual error: In this episode Gideon mentions Andrei Chikatilo, and says that he lived in Ukraine (and that this is why he remained uncaught for so long). While Chikatilo was born in Ukraine, he lived in Russia for most of his life, and all of his murders happened here. An expert like Gideon should not make this kind of mistake.

The Legend of Zorro (2005)
Factual error: In the first scene, McGivens appears and demonstrates the new repeating rifle, and even mentions that it is a Henry Repeater. This brand of rifle was not invented until the late 1850s, almost a decade after the events depicted in this movie.

Röd Snö (1985)
Continuity mistake: When Anne and Hans are out skiing in the woods, Evert goes past them and falls down a small slope. In the following conversation, whenever the camera is on Evert he is lying at the bottom of the slope, and you can see the ground all around him for a couple of meters. The others are then too far away to be seen. However, when Evert stands up he is suddenly much closer to Anne and Hans, in fact he is right next to them.

Röd Snö (1985)
Continuity mistake: When Anne and Evert are driving toward the Norwegian/Swedish border, Anne pulls back the rug in the back of the sled, and discovers the dead Bjørn. He is then flat on his back, staring upwards. Moments later, when the Swedish border guards pull back the rug to look at the corpse, he is face down. No one touched him, and the sled did not bump enough to roll the body completely over.

Criminal Minds (2005)
Continuity mistake: When Reid and Lila are in the pool, kissing, he explains how it is wrong that they are out in the open, and in a pool. Lila then kisses him again, and the paparazzo in the bushes takes pictures. In the first shot of this kiss, a close-up of Reid and Lila, her arms are down by her sides, but when seen through the camera, her arms are suddenly around his neck. Back to a close-up, and her arms are once again down in the water.

Only the Strong (1993)
Continuity mistake: After Orlando has agreed to go with Silverio, Silverio says to the policeman "I just gotta say one little thing to my homie. I'm outta here". He is then standing very close to the cop, almost shoulder by shoulder. When the angle changes, he is suddenly standing a few feet away from the cop, before he starts moving towards Louis.

Only the Strong (1993)
Revealing mistake: During the fight in the chop shop, a man with a tire iron swings at Louis and he avoids it, leading the tire iron into a switch box. The man holding the tire iron is electrocuted, but Louis is still holding onto him with his bare hands without suffering any ill effects.

Only the Strong (1993)
Audio problem: During the fight in the chop shop, Louis gets surrounded by four guys and grabs a pole to defend himself. After doing some initial moves with it, he blocks a few swings from another man, then turns around and swings his staff against the face of another. He does not hit the man on this swing, but the sound of the pole connecting with the guy's jaw is still there.

Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987)
The Royale - S2-E12
Trivia: In this episode, Picard is studying Fermat's Great Theorem, and says it has remained unsolved for 800 years. Five years after the episode was made the theorem was proven, by Andrew Wiles and Richard Taylor from Princeton University (their proof is not the same as Fermat's though, as they used modern methods Fermat did not know of). In the Star Trek universe, this was referred to in an episode of Deep Space Nine, and is considered as a subtle correction for Picard's statements.

Criminal Minds (2005)
A Real Rain - S1-E17
Character mistake: In the initial meeting at FBI headquarters, the agents mention the Zodiac killer. Gideon says about him "Yeah, and he killed for 30 years without being caught." In actuality, the Zodiac's known victims were killed between 1966 and 1970. In letters to the public, Zodiac claimed responsibility for several other murders (most of which were solved without being attributed to Zodiac), but no later than 1974. Gideon's statement was off by at least 22 years.

National Treasure (2004)
Factual error: To reveal the invisible ink on the back of the Declaration, Ben and Dr. Chase use pure lemon juice before warming the surface. This is best seen when Chase first test it out on the corner, where the Mason symbol is placed. Lemon juice is in fact also used as invisible ink (that you have to heat to make visible), and this procedure would have ruined anything written on the back of the document.

Richard III (1995)
Revealing mistake: After Richard has accepted that he will be king, he appears before a large assembly. Several of the soldiers standing by the walls are obviously plastic dummies. They have unnaturally smooth and blank facial features, and when you can see their hands, they are not grasping their guns, but merely holding their hands stiffly out with the gun between them.

Highlander (1986)
Continuity mistake: When Conor and Heather are making love outside, just before Ramirez appears, she says to him "You can do that to me forever if you'd like, my lord". Conor is then seen from above as he turns his head slightly and looks at her. The angle changes to a sideways shot, and his face is now turned directly upwards to the sky, and his eyes are closed. Back to the first angle, and he is once again looking at Heather with his head turned.

The Godfather: Part II (1974)
Continuity mistake: In the first "Godfather" film, we see Vito Corleone's tombstone, and it says there that he was born on April 29. In this movie, however, Sonny curses the Japanese for bombing Pearl Harbor on Vito's birthday. The attack on Pearl Harbor happened on December 7, 1941.
