The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008)
Question: Why are Rick and Evie the ones requested to return the Eye? I know the General needs the Eye to revive the Emperor, but why have 2 mummy experts bring it? After all, he's raising a mummy emperor and army, wouldn't he be worried the O'Connells would interfere? Or is he wanting to get all 3 (parents and son) together so they can all be killed?
Answer: He needed Evie's skill with ancient languages. She was one of the few people in the world who could translate what was written on the Eye accurately, and who could be easily persuaded to travel to Shanghai.

Question: At the beginning of the movie, what does Joker say to the man in the bank? I think it's something like, "I believe whoever doesn't kill you simply makes you stranger," but I cant really remember.
Answer: You got it almost exactly right. He says "I believe, whatever doesn't kill you, simply makes you... stranger".

Question: Was the process in which a vampire sires a human borrowed from Francis Ford Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula? Having seen that film recently, I noticed that, when Dracula sires Mina, the process was the same. Or was it taken from vampire mythology?

Answer: Because he had been a policeman working in Internal Affairs; in movies at least, IA officers are often shunned by other officers, as they are conceived to be working against their own. The name "Two-Face" was a way of branding Dent as a turncoat.

The Prestige (2006)
Question: In Angier's final performance Borden watches Angier's duplicate drown in the tank. Does the other Angier still reappear for the audience, and take a bow? They never explain this in the film. If he does take the bow, Borden would never have been accused of murder. If he doesn't take the bow, how does the duplicate know not to do so? The duplicate would have no idea that Borden was below stage.
Answer: Angier always wants to take revenge on Borden as he is the reason behind the death of his wife. He knows that Borden is in the crowd the two times, first time, Olivia suggests Borden to watch the new "Transported Man" trick of Angier, where Borden finds out the trap door in the bottom of the machine, second time, Borden wants to know how Angier flies that distance with in seconds through the trap door. As expected by the Angier in the final play, Borden reaches the back stage where actual Angier is drowning (it is as always actual Angier drowns and the replica of Angier appears at some distance in every performance). So, as per the plan the replica hides to create an impression that Borden intentionally murders Angier. Note: the replica of Angier has the same ability and sense like actual Angier.
It's never stated whether the "real" Angier drowns or takes the bow, but it's implied that it doesn't matter - as the clone is a perfect copy, they are both "Angier." Angier at one point says, referring to toll the trick has taken on him, that each time he did it, even he himself didn't know whether he would be the man in the box or the prestige. Similarly, when Angier asked Tesla which hat of all the duplicates was his, Tesla replied "They are all your hat."
Answer: No, he does not appear to take a bow. The set-up is as follows: Angier invites the audience on stage to observe the machine, but in reality it is so he can watch for Borden trying to work out the trick. When he sees Borden in the audience, he also knows Borden will not learn anything from the stage, and will go backstage. He then clones himself, and the clone is created with the exact knowledge he had at the time of the cloning, including Borden's presence and the trap the original Angier had set. So the "new" Angier hides away the best he can, letting Borden be framed for the murder of the "original" Angier. Had he appeared, not only would it ruin his plan of framing Borden, but it would also reveal how he had done his trick, and he would not allow any of those to happen, no matter what.

General questions
In the mid-70s, prior to 1978, I saw a TV movie about a teenage girl struggling with drug addiction. I think she had typical hair style for the time, dark, parted in the middle, and long. After rehab(?), she goes back home, but her parents' attention is grossly misdirected and eventually drive her back to drugs. She had a younger sister. In the end, they find her dead in her room, but I can't remember if her death was caused by suicide or accidental OD, but I think it was suicide. I thought it had the name Alice in the title, and I thought it might have been called "I Never Promised You a Rose Garden" but from looking it up, I think I am wrong. Does anyone know the name of this movie?

Question: Does "the girl" - as she's been called - have a name? And is she a (or the) devil?
Answer: She was not given a name, neither in the film nor credits. She is simply known as "The Girl". As to precisely who she is, it is deliberately left ambiguous. But the last engraving found by Corso does seem to indicate that she is the Whore of Babylon mentioned in the Book of Revelation.
Question: In the United States, why was the film released on a Thursday instead of a Wednesday or Friday?
Chosen answer: Because the film had a global release date, and premiered the same day in every country in the world. Obviously, the studio felt this was the best day to do it.

Halloween (2007)
Question: I saw this film in theaters, and from what I remember, the implication was that Loomis was killed by Michael. But when I watched the Director's Cut DVD, it seems that Loomis is still alive, albeit injured and weakened, as he grabs Michael to distract him. Was this changed from the theatrical version, or am I just not remembering properly? Because it is a fairly dramatic change in the overall story.
Answer: According to IMdB, yes, the ending is different in the theatrical and Director's Cut versions, with Loomis dying in one and surviving in the other.

No Country For Old Men (2007)
Question: Did Chigurh shoot the accountant in Stehpen Root's office? The IMDB FAQ claims that he didn't, thinking that the accountant didn't look at Chigurh's face - However, the accountant DID look at Chigurh's face. Right after Chigurh says, "That depends - do you see me?", he turns around and looks at the accountant in the eyes. They both stare at each other. So my question is, after my explanation - Did Chigurh shoot the accountant?
Answer: That's intentionally left ambiguous - it's open to your own interpretation.
Answer: Of course he killed the accountant. When the accountant asked Chigurh if he was going to kill him and Chigurh replied by asking "Do you see me?", Chigurh might have been saying, "Of course I'm going to kill you, you're a witness," but I think he was telling the accountant that the question was as dumb as if he asked the accountant if the accountant saw him when the accountant was looking right at him.
The first answer is actually correct. It's left ambiguous. He could mean "do you see me?" meaning yes I'm going to kill you because you've seen my face. Or he could mean "do you see me?" meaning if you say no and keep your mouth shut I'll leave you alive.
He did not. Every death has a clue...blood on his feet...he checked the bottom of his shoes after he left the wife's house. The feathers in the back of the truck he took. For every death he caused they either showed the victim or showed an immediate indicator he liked them.
I can also hear some sarcasm in his question. He asks with a smile (he doesn't smile that much, does he?) and a sarcastic tone, as if he wants to emphasize that now that you have seen me, you are very dead.
Answer: Did he see him? Yes. Did he kill him because of it? Yes.
Answer: Nothing is for certain, in Anton's own words. He might have killed the accountant. He might have spared him. The answer is the toss of a coin.
Answer: I see the question "That depends - do you see me?" as one of Chigurh's proverbial coin tosses. I actually believe that if the accountant would have answered "no" then Anton would have killed him.

Question: Was Ian Holm using contact lenses, or did they do something with his eyes in post production? From the scene where Abberline asks about the Free Masons and onwards his eyes are considerably darker (a deliberate effect I take it).
Answer: His eyes are not just darker, his entire eyes are completely black. This was done by CGI effects to show that the murderous Ripper side to Gull's persona is taking over and is in control.

On their Wikipedia page, it says that Irish folk band The Chieftains have won an Academy Award. What did they win for, in terms of film and category?
Chosen answer: The 1975 film "Barry Lyndon" by Stanley Kubrick. The Chieftains contributed one song ("Women of Ireland") to the musical score, which won the Award for Best Original Song Score And Adaptation.

Question: When Sam is turning into an infected, and Neville is holding on to her, she is trying to kill Neville and the shot goes to a close-up of him, and after the close-up he lets go of Sam and she just rolls away motionless. What I don't know is, did Neville break her neck or did he suffocate her or did the medicine he gave her kill her?

Question: Are this film's Zodiac killer and the Scorpio Killer in "Dirty Harry" based on the same person?
Chosen answer: Scorpio is loosely based on the Zodiac killer, yes. However, "Zodiac" is made to portray the hunt for the real-life Zodiac killer (as accurately as possible), with only a few ficticious elements thrown in for the sake of story-telling, while "Dirty Harry" is pure fiction.

The Karate Kid Part II (1986)
Question: If the crane kick is done correctly and no one can defend against it, why didn't it work in the fight against Chozen?
Answer: I think the term "correctly executed" is meant to include that the opponent is unprepared for the kick. In the first film, Johnny got confused by the unorthodox crane stance, and walked right into the kick. Chozen, however, is trained in the Miyagi style of karate and knows the kick himself, so he is capable of defending against it.
Answer: I think it's because it was done incorrectly when Daniel did it against Chozen. You see he was too close to Chozen and was taking way too long, therefore giving Chozen the upper hand.
