Trivia: The face on the small music box lid is visible when Will steals the key from Davy Jones. At Tia Dalma's, when Jack steals the ring, it lies beside a necklace whose pendant is identical to the face on Davy Jones's music box.

Trivia: At the end of 2005, Sharon Wyatt joined the cast of this NBC soap as crazed Rachel Barrett, who "torments" Alistair Crane, played by John Reilly. This is not the first time these two actors play opposite each other. They played the lovable, nutty couple Tiffany "Elsie Mae" Hill and Sean Donely, on ABC's General Hospital, for many years. (Now if only Tristan Rogers would join the cast.)

Trivia: In the midst of withdrawal, the third time Charlie asks Locke for his stash Locke finally hands it to Charlie, who stares at the bag of heroin. On the DVD commentary, Dom Monaghan remarks that while he holds the bag of heroin (really brown sugar, but hey) he's "doing a Gollum" - using Andy Serkis's portrayal of Gollum, and his desire for his "Precious" as the basis for Charlie's intense need for the drug.

Trivia: Director Merian C. Cooper and co-director/producer E.B. Schoedsack have cameos in close-ups of the biplanes that attack Kong at the end of the film.

Trivia: Peter Jackson's cameo in this film is in one of the biplanes attacking Kong, when he stands atop the Empire State Building. This is an homage to the director/producer cameos in King Kong, the 1933 film. Jackson's co-pilot is makeup-artist Rick Baker, who portrayed Kong in the 1976 film version.

Trivia: When Carl and Preston are in the car, after stealing the reels of film, they discuss leading lady replacement possibilities. They note that "Fay" is a size 4, but Preston then says that she is already filming something for RKO. The RKO feature they refer to is the original King Kong (1933) starring Fay Wray.
Trivia: When the children listen to a news report on the radio, in Professor Kirke's house, the voice belongs to Douglas Gresham, who is C.S. Lewis's stepson, and co-producer of the film. C.S. Lewis, author of the original novel, delivered radio addresses over the BBC during World War II.
Trivia: After the initial credits begin (since many people leave the theatre as soon as the credits appear, they miss this), there is an additional short scene between Professor Kirke and Lucy, that takes place near the wardrobe. (02:12:25)

Trivia: On January 19th 1953, when Lucy Ricardo gave birth to Little Ricky on I Love Lucy, which 68% of U.S. TV sets tuned in to watch, Lucille Ball also gave birth to Desi Arnaz Jr. (in a planned C-section) on the same night. Newborn Desi Jr. was featured on the very first national cover of TV Guide. As a strange coincidence, on January 19th, exactly 43 years later, Marlee Matlin gave birth to her daughter at the same time that the evening's episode of Picket Fences was being aired, and her character on the show, Laurie Bey, was giving birth to a son.

Trivia: For Andy to get rid of the Teen Wolf look, actor Steve Carell's chest hair is really waxed by an actress, who is a non-professional waxer. Because there would only be one take of this disturbingly amusing scene, they set up five cameras - one on his 'friends', one over Andy, one on the waxer, one for wide shots, and one for close-ups of his chest. This scene was not scripted, so when the waxer laughs and Andy's friends are totally cracking up it was for real. Though it was strongly suggested to Steve to first trim his chest hair or to take a pain reliever before the taping, he refused, wanting to have the full cringe-effect caught on tape. In one close-up a bit of blood is actually seen bleeding up to the surface - it is not CGI. It took about seven weeks for his hair to grow back, much to chagrin of his wife, who wasn't crazy about his 'chest smiley'.

Trivia: The name Ben Gardner comes up in the film when Brody asks if Ben caught the Tiger shark, and when Brody and Hooper find Ben's battered boat (leading to Hooper seeing Ben's head underwater), though Ben is never introduced in the film. Ben Gardner does make two unidentified appearances while alive. When Hooper arrives in Amity, Ben is the first man to greet him at the dock, and at the start of the shark hunt Ben is the first man shown in a moving boat, as he complains about the other fishermen.

Trivia: David Hasselhoff, who plays Michael Knight on Knight Rider, was married to Catherine Hickland from 1984-89 and in 1992 Catherine married an actor whose real name is Michael E. Knight.

Trivia: Due to the political situation in Iraq, the location for scale shots was moved from Morocco to Mexico, an ideal alternate choice with its broad beach. However, the rushed decision presented some obstacles. Coastal Mexico is an endangered turtle habitat, so to be granted permission to set up the Greek encampment and build boats on the large stretch of beach, the film crew implemented their own turtle incubation nursery, releasing a multitude of turtles while on location in Mexico. They also did not have an accurate idea of the physical conditions of that particular beach - it was unstable and 100 feet of beach washed away overnight, leaving Greek ships teetering precariously on the edge of the bank with the missing sand.

Trivia: To celebrate the film's anniversary and release on DVD, there was a special screening of the film, at which Dick Van Dyke shared a humorous personal memory. On his way to the original premiere of the film, Dick Van Dyke's limousine ran out of gas not too far from the theater, so Dick himself got out and pushed the car to the red carpet.

Trivia: Bruce Spence's mouth is enhanced with a cut laden prosthetic as the Mouth of Sauron, to represent the evil he has spoken for Sauron. During editing, the CG specialists toyed with the idea of having the mouth lie vertically on his face. Though the mouth chosen is horizontal, it's digitally enlarged by about 50% for this scene to fill the only opening within the helmet, creating the very disturbing unsettling image. Trivia: Among other cameos in this last film are Howard Shore, at the 'drinking game', and as Pirates on the Corsair ship when Aragorn confronts them are: Rick Porras, co-producer; Andrew Lesnie, director of photography; Richard Taylor, WETA creative supervisor and Gino Acevedo, WETA prosthetics supervisor. After arriving on the Corsair ship, the first Orc that Aragorn kills on Pelennor fields, is Viggo's son Henry, who was a young boy in TTT. In pickups for RotK, 3-4 yrs later, he had since grown to be taller than his father and was given the Orc suit for a cameo. (Extended Edition)

Trivia: The Cirith Ungol stair ledge was built as a wet weather set on the squash court in a hotel in Queenstown. In November of 1999, Sean Astin's (Sam) close-ups were shot in the taping of the first RotK shots, and as a side note Andy Serkis (Gollum) had not been cast yet. The set remained standing on the squash court and as things would go, it wasn't until a year later on November 30th, 2000, that Elijah Wood's (Frodo) first close-ups were actually shot on that ledge.

Trivia: The scenes at the Black Gate were shot at the army munitions training ground because of its wide, flat, desert type landscape. Before the shoot, the land had forty years worth of demolitions, land mines, mortars, grenades, etc., lying all over. The government asked the army to clear and dispose the ammunition for the filmmakers, but due to the soft ground many could've remained undetected. When the crew arrived for the shoot, an army officer lectured them and showed them different types of munitions to warn them of the possibility of finding more on the site, as dirt was kicked up during battle sequences. There were bomb disposal people surrounding them and sure enough shooting halted as things were discovered and cleared. The cast and crew were told that if they strayed from the designated areas and lost limbs, the army was not responsible.
