Continuity mistake: The coach stopped his truck along the field, parallel to Billy's Jeep but not as far up the driveway. When the coach was getting out of his truck, the truck was much closer to Billy's house, parked at an angle to Billy's Jeep, and there was a gazebo behind his truck instead of the field. When the coach was talking to Billy by his Jeep (which was also now closer to the house), the gazebo can be seen but the truck was no longer there or visible. Continuity mistake: When Billy is walking (from his front porch) to his Jeep, the ground is brown, and he has to take several steps to reach the cargo area. When the camera shifts to a front view of Billy by the driver's side door, and he says, "Hi, coach", the Jeep is parked too close to the house for Billy to have taken that many steps to reach it and the grass behind the Jeep is green (not brown). When his mother put the pillow over his face and the camera shifted to a right-side rear view, the upper part of the bed was raised about 45°. When Lang Dotrice (Brecken's father) arrived and sat on his bed, the pillow used to smother Brecken was at least a foot away from the headboard and Brecken's head (still under the pillow) was about a yard away from the headboard. An aerial view after he exits the car shows the suitcase at an angle to the lower left-hand corner, no longer touching the bag, which is now widthwise, partly off the upper right-hand corner. Continuity mistake: The length of the Black Phone's cord changes. The cord that could be seen between the Grabber and Finney was relatively short and had a wide loop at the bottom. When Finney came back from the bathroom, the cord was hanging down about twice as far and the loop was not as wide, making most of the cord look linear. Also, the cut telephone line was barely discernible against the dirty/marred wall but was obvious after Finney tried to use the phone. (00:28:50 - 00:30:21)

Continuity mistake: The position of the dead (imposter) security guard's head over the barbell changes. When Gus says, "Jesus, he's dead", the security guard's neck is over the barbell rail, the top of his head is touching the floor, and his face is toward the front of the screen. Continuity mistake: When Billy pulled the medallion out of the ground, part of the cloth covering it was hanging past his hand, but when he blew dirt off the cloth, the cloth was compactly covering the medallion. Also, the cloth should have had more than some loose dirt on it and the medallion - after buried in the ground for 200 years - should have been dirty and tarnished, not clean. (A cloth covering the medallion would not protect it from soaking rains). (00:23:35)
