Doctor Who (2005)

Season 8 generally

Question: In Season 5, the Doctor states his age as nine hundred and six years old. In a voice-over for Season 8, he states that he's lived for over two thousand years. Granted, he's a Time Lord, but how could he make such a grievous error in his own age?

Movie Nut

Chosen answer: He has not made an error, he probably is 2000 years old. He may have been 906 in season 5, but remember, at the end of season 6, he is 200 years older, 1107 years old and in season 7 episode 3, the Doctor stated he was 1200 years old. Plus, he also in "The Time of the Doctor", he lived at that village for several hundred years. It may have been only 4 years for the audience, but it has in fact been over a millennia for The Doctor.

Casual Person

Sometimes when the doctor says things about himself people say that he is known for lying.

Dan23

Answer: He can't actually remember his precise age. He's almost certainly over a millennium older than he claims, but even he doesn't remember the real number.

Question: When did Zola experiment on Barnes? Didn't Zola get captured by Captain Rogers on the same train as Barnes fell out of? I know he experimented on him before because he survived the fall. But in a short flashback, Zola is standing next to Barnes while he has his metal arm.

richard.carlsson@hotmail.com

Chosen answer: Hydra was working with SHIELD since the 1940s. After he was taken into custody, Hydra would have eventually taken in Zola, where he experimented on Bucky, giving him the metal arm.

Question: What I don't understand at the end is the following: 1. Jack wanted to stab DJ's heart and become the immortal captain of TFD. 2. Will did not particularly want to stab the heart, as it would mean losing Elizabeth and consigning himself to being alone as the captain of TFD, but it was the only way he knew of to keep his promise to his dad to release him from service. 3. Elizabeth definitely did not want Will to do the above, because then they could not be together. There is a scene where Jack is holding his broken sword next to DJ's beating heart, threatening to stab it. This is before DJ stabbed Will. Instead of threatening, why didn't he just stab it and get it over with? Everyone gets what they want. He becomes captain, he has the power to release Will's dad, and Will gets to fulfill his promise, and be together with Elizabeth. Why did Jack hesitate and screw up the situation?

Excelsior!

Chosen answer: Jack wanted Davy Jones to know that he had the heart and show that he had the most power right before Jones died. He was going to stab the heart but Davy Jones then stabbed Will and Jack had no choice to have Will stab the heart because he knew it was the only way for Will to survive, even if it means giving up the opportunity to be immortal.

Casual Person

Answer: As Will had said to Jack before Jack pushed him off the Black Pearl for Beckett to find, "You have to do the duty Jack. You have to ferry souls or end up just like Jones."

Question: The Harry Potter Wiki website says that Hermione was born in 1979, if this is true then why is she starting school at age 12 instead of 11, especially with her being such a good student?

Answer: The Harry Potter Wiki says Hermione was born on September 19, 1979, the Hogwarts year begins in August which would make Hermione still 11 years old when she begins Hogwarts, she would then become 12 years old the following month. She still began Hogwarts at the same age as all of the other students, not a year later.

Wreck-It Ralph (2012)

Question: What is the logical reason behind King Candy's decision to delete Vanellope's code? What does he gain from it? From what I understand, he didn't think she'd become a glitch, but what exactly did he have against her and why delete her instead of any other racer?

Answer: As shown later on, Candy was revealed to be Turbo. A racer whose racing game was ruined by another racing game. His jealousy drove him to ruining both his game and the other game. Turbo then wanted to live in a racing game, so chose Sugar Rush. Vanellope was revealed in the end to be the leader of Sugar Rush and King Candy tried to delete her code and re-write his code so he could be leader and take part in all the races. That's why he didn't delete any other racer's code - because getting Vanellope's code deleted would have made him the leader. Candy had nothing against Vanellope, he just wanted to be leader by any means possible.

American Dad (2005)

Chosen answer: The CIA placed Klaus' brain inside a goldfish. The reason the CIA did this was because Klaus was once an Olympic ski-jumper and was supporting East Germany in the 1986 Winter Olympics. The CIA knew Klaus was going to win the gold medal for ski-jump and they did not want this to happen, so the only alternative they could think of was to place Klaus' brain inside the body of a goldfish before he could compete.

Question: In the beginning, the king and queen are shown riding in a carriage. However, before watching this movie, I viewed Shrek 3 where the king had turned into a frog and died. If he died in 3, how did he come back to life in this movie? This was before the king and queen signed any contract and vanished, so magic was not involved in his being alive.

Answer: It was stated in this scene that Fiona was rescued from the tower, meaning this scene took place at the same time as Shrek 1, when the King was still alive.

But they didn't have kids in the first?

Chosen answer: Most likely Hawk was killed in action, or he just retired. Eventually Duke advanced to leader.

Casual Person

Question: When the revelation is made about how Storm Shadow was framed for the murder of Hard Master, did the leader then already know it was Zartan and made the accusations to coax a statement from Storm, or did they really not know yet? Then entire scene felt rushed, and like they figured out what happened and who did it too quickly.

Quantom X

Chosen answer: The Blind Master says to Storm, "You will tell us Cobra's endgame or die by the same sword you once used to kill our master" near the start of this scene, meaning they really did not know that Zartan killed the Hard Master.

Question: When Bryant and Deckard are watching the tape of Leon's VK test, the screen displays the letters V.K. But below that it shows 96/W/9-3H. What does that mean?

Quantom X

Chosen answer: The tape was possibly numbered so the police know which tape is which. 96/W/9-3H is probably the number of Leon's VK test.

Blade Runner (1982)

Question: On the VK test, there is a bar light above the screen that shows the subject's eye. The bar lights up across from green to red. What does this bar indicate?

Quantom X

Chosen answer: The bar is meant to represent how far the eye monitor had zoomed in. One way this can be noticed is when Rick starts to question Rachael, the monitor zooms in and the bar goes down. The lights on the VK test load, then each light turns off one by one depending on how much the monitor had zoomed out.
