Corrected entry: In the German version the Americans are translated, so they speak German... but the Germans also speak German, yet they don't understand each other.

Bjoern_Buller

Correction: This is not a mistake, but an extremely common technique used to make viewing the film easier for speakers of a particular language and avoid the need for extensive subtitles. German viewers are expected to take it as a given that the American characters are actually speaking English to one another and that Upham is the only character that can actually speak and understand fluent German.

Makes me wonder how they explain "fubar" though.

lionhead

I'm always curious how slang terms that are that specific are translated into other languages. Take it to the forums and see if anyone who speaks German can watch that version. I'd be curious to see the answer myself.

Monkeybone (2001)

Corrected entry: Near the end when Monkeybone (while possessing the body of Stu) grabs one of the Monkeybone dolls and jumps from table to table you can see how the tabletop is bouncing like a trampoline (not much, but noticable).

Bjoern_Buller

Correction: There is nothing unusual about the table he jumps on or their movements. They are regular folding round tables. The tablecloths move about as he jumps in a normal fashion.

Munich (2005)

Corrected entry: Short before the assassination attempt with the phosphor-bombs Avner goes to a group of people and says "Entschuldigung, kann ich ein Licht haben?" to light his cigarette. He asks for light like a flashlight or a lamp instead of fire for his cigarette. He should have said "Entschuldigung, haben sie feuer?" which would be the correct translation of "Do you have a light?" in this situation.

Bjoern_Buller

Correction: He might have messed up being a human error, not a movie error. And also if he's holding a cigerette they could figure out what he meant.

Corrected entry: When the mice want Arthur's brain and their brain-cutting-machine comes out of the table, an apple remains on the machine, facing with the top towards the camera. After the cut when the mice sit on it, the top faces upwards.

Bjoern_Buller

Correction: The apple probably rotates as the arms move slowly out. The un-symetrical shape of the apple would cause it to move with any motion anyway.

5:00 A.M.-6:00 A.M. - S1-E6

Corrected entry: When Gaines is calling Jack, he uses a headset. Jack wants to talk with Kimberly, Gains holds the micro in front of Kimberley's mouth, but he didn't give her the earpiece. How could she be able to hear Jacks question if she is fine?

Bjoern_Buller

Correction: The earpiece is very close, apparently close enough for her to hear the question.

tw_stuart

Corrected entry: When the spaceship is chased by the two nuclear missiles, Arthur wants to engage the "improbability drive". You can see the "normality counter" is at 21 which doesn't change at all in the next few shots (you can always see the 1 of the 21).

Bjoern_Buller

Correction: As Trillian states at this moment, the "Heart of Gold" hasn't reached "normality", what makes it dangerous to engage the improbability drive again. Obviously, the improbability drive takes quite a while to reach complete normality (which would be represented by a 1:1 readout on the counter). It seems, that the last bits of improbability take some time to wear off - that's why the passengers aboard the "Heart of Gold" appear as sofas or wool puppets right after the improbability jump.

Corrected entry: When Arthur's cellphone is floating in Space you can hear something which sounds like "The person you have called is temporarily not available". This message is generated from the provider/network, not from the phone itself. Without earth there is no network so there would be no message at all.

Bjoern_Buller

Correction: It is in fact possible, that Vodafone is a galactic (telephone) company, with a branch on Earth. Though Earth hadn't made interstellar contact yet, there were in fact multigalactic companies doing business on the Planet. For example, in the radio play, it's told that the Dolmansaxlil Shoe Corporation sells shoes in Oxford Street.

Eurotrip (2004)

Corrected entry: In Mieke's email in which she says she is sorry about Fiona dumping him, Scotty read that "he" (Mieke) is sorry, but originally the mail begins with "I was a sad girl when I heard about Fiona dumping you" - at this point he should know that Mieke is a girl. (00:12:50)

Bjoern_Buller

Correction: First, Scott is very drunk when he first reads this email so his mental state is less than optimal. Second, Scott's German isn't very good (seen when he is speaking to the trucker), so it's entirely possible that he either doesn't understand the pronoun or misinterprets it.

Correction: Deutch is a last name, no reason there couldn't be a such a web address. In fact, both variations have already been registered.

Eurotrip (2004)

Corrected entry: In Crans Sur Mer, when the naked women are sitting under the monument at the beach, one says in French, "The monument is very moving," and the other one says, "Oui," which means "Yes" but is subtitled with "Let's make out".

Bjoern_Buller

Correction: It's a joke. The beach at the monument is supposed to represent the boys' fantasies and expectations, in contrast to the one they arrive at.

Phoenix

Correction: Will knew before hand when he was about to be killed by Barbossa. Jack wanders in and talks about how they were all men of their word and how Elizabeth is all set to marry Norrington.
