PCU (1994)

Corrected entry: When the president of the school comes to the Pit to tell them they're being evicted, Gutter is grilling steak in the living room, yet the smoke from the flames magically disappears and the room is smoke free.

Leonard Hassen

Correction: Based on the size of the room and the fact that Gutter only has one steak grilling means he doesn't have a very large fire in the BBQ pit. After a grill is lit, the amount of smoke is dependant on the amount of food on the grill, as there is no active flame, the cooking is done strictly by heat. With that small a fire and the size of the room, the smoke would easily dissipate and not fill the room.

dablues7

Corrected entry: Since Roach has been able to elude Daddy for so long, why couldn't he take a few sticks of the dynamite in the house, rig up the front door blowing it open, and set all of the People under the stairs free?

Leonard Hassen

Correction: Roach has been living in a cell and in the walls his entire life. He would have no idea how dynamite works, let alone the mental capacity to conceive such a plan.

Uncle Buck (1989)

Corrected entry: When Buck kidnaps Tia's boyfriend "Bug" and puts him in the trunk of his car there is no way Bug could have survived because the automobile emissions and the gag in his mouth would have suffocated him.

Leonard Hassen

Correction: The gag was in his mouth, not covering his nose. He could breathe fine. As for the possibility of carbon monoxie poisoning, when the car was in motion the exhaust would trail behind the vehicle; with all the damage to the car there was plenty of fresh air from outside getting into the trunk.

Point Break (1991)

Corrected entry: When Johnny Utah and the rest of the FBI guys stormed the surfer-Nazi house, none of them are wearing bullet proof vests. Why would only 5 FBI agents storm a house not knowing how many people are inside and what weapons they might have?

Leonard Hassen

Correction: First off, it's not clear if the 2 agents who went in the back door are vested or not. Yes one of the agents was stabbed, but stab wounds can puncture a vest. Also, the night before, Agent Alvarez pointed out what a "BS lead" this was. And let's remember how Harp was not thrilled with the way Pappas was approaching the case. Harp surely didn't want to waste a lot of manpower on something that in his eyes was probably going to pan out to nothing. And in the eyes of the FBI, these guys were relatively small time. It wasn't until Utah saw that they were "pulling out a f - king arsenal" that he realized perhaps they were undermanned. At that point he tried to call off the raid but it was too late.

Cool as Ice (1991)

Corrected entry: Kathy (Ice's girlfriend) has a fishbowl in her bedroom that is extremely overcrowded with fish. Only problem is that the fish are "salt water" fish and would die instantly in a glass bowl.

Leonard Hassen

Correction: Huh? Salt water fish survive very nicely in a glass tank, why not a glass bowl? It is the salinity of the water that makes the difference, not the shape of the container. And it is not possible for the audience to verify whether the bowl contains salt water or fresh water.

Desperado (1995)

Corrected entry: When El Mariachi walks into the Tarassco bar before the gunfight, the bartender tells him about a guy with a "Guitar case full of guns". In the opening scene of the movie Steve Buscemi never tells the same bartender or the thugs in the Tarassco bar what kind of case El Mariachi is carrying.

Leonard Hassen

Correction: The bartender says that they have been hearing stories (plural) about a guitar case full of guns, meaning they had head it from people other than Buscemi. There is also ample evidence in the movie to suggest that El Mariachi has been killing drug cartel members before the events in the movie, so stories from these have spread around the cartel. In addition, the guitar case originally belonged to a somewhat famous assassin named Azul (in the first movie, "El Mariachi"), and the bartender may easily have heard of the guitar case in association with him.

Twotall

Corrected entry: When Fool escapes from the house and calls the police there is an army of cops and child protective service people there yet not one of them even thinks to search the basement or the scorched bullet ridden upper floors of the house.

Leonard Hassen

Correction: Remember, Fool broke into their home. If they tell the cops that,he loses credibility.

Road House (1989)

Corrected entry: When Dalton, Jeff Healey, and Dalton's girlfriend drive by the car dealership, the big bouncer announces that Brad Wesley is putting something down on a new car. When Wesley's thug runs over and destroys the cars in the monster truck, they're all older - early 70's models, hardly "new".

Leonard Hassen

Correction: The bouncer was making a joke - "putting something down on a car" would have sounded odd.

Mobrien316

Corrected entry: When the police and child protective services people are in the house after Fool escapes and calls them to report abuse, he somehow winds up hiding in a kitchen cabinet while they're there. Why doesn't he just show the cops where the basement prison is?

Leonard Hassen

Correction: Not to sound racist or anything but think about it. Even if Fool did do that who would the cops believe? The white couple that owns the house or an african american boy who knows about the secret only because he broke into the house?

The police probably would, at least, check out Fool's story, but it's likely he'd assume the police wouldn't believe him.

Brian Katcher

Corrected entry: When Carrie Fisher uses the flame thrower to blow up the propane tank next to the phone booth Jake and Elwood are in, there is no way the phone booth would have rocketed straight up because phone booths are bolted down to prevent theft.

Leonard Hassen

Correction: Besides, they're on a mission from God. That's how they survive all these ridiculous attacks.

Brian Katcher

Correction: The bolts are proof against theft, not against large scale explosions.

Carrie (1976)

Corrected entry: During the film you see tons of images of the "crucified Jesus",Carrie's mother going door to door to evangelize people and at the end making the sign of the cross with a butcher knife before she goes to kill Carrie. Only one problem. Catholics don't evangelize so how could Carrie's mother be Catholic?

Leonard Hassen

Correction: Carrie's mother is an extreme fanatic and mentally disturbed. Clearly she doesn't follow the traditional rules of any branch of Christianity like normal people would.

Dawn of the Dead (1978)

Corrected entry: How did the janitor zombie that attacked Roger in the JCPenney know to stand still with the mannequins before he attacked Roger? I thought the zombies weren't supposed to be smart. Also if the JCPenney was secured, how did the zombie even get in?

Leonard Hassen

Correction: Zombies have some limited intelligence, such as when the zombified character remembers where the passageway has been covered up. Also look at the original Night of the Living Dead; various zombies were intelligent enough to use weapons. As for how the zombie got in, he could have been maintenance, a cleaning crew, or management who was working late.

Road House (1989)

Corrected entry: When Dalton visits Brad Wesley at his home, Wesley tells the story of how he grew up on the mean streets of Chicago. Assuming he's rich and has connections in Chicago, why couldn't he just have Dalton killed off by a hit man instead of these bumbling rednecks that he employs.

Leonard Hassen

Correction: Just because he grew up in Chicago doesn't mean he has ties to the mob. Or he could have been greatly exaggerating his importance.

Corrected entry: When Steve and Doug are in the kitchen and Doug explains the benefits of the "health shake" he is making in the blender, Doug states that it helps him reach his physical...and then there's a brief pause and then he says "peak" but you can hardly understand it. It's as if Doug didn't know what word to say.

Leonard Hassen

Correction: The reason he pauses is because his dad starts to pour out the shake.

PCU (1994)

Corrected entry: When Droz, Moles ,The Daves and Thomas shower the "cause heads" with raw ground beef from the cafeteria windows above, Moles throws out the huge cooking pan as well. Wouldn't this be a dangerous thing to do with a crowd of people below?

Leonard Hassen

Correction: Many people often do stupid, thoughtless things. The character's stupidity within the film is not a film mistake.

Super Grover

Correction: Not an audio problem, just a case of stuttering on her part while trying to formulate her thought. It happens to most people at one time or another.

Macalou

Corrected entry: At the end, Shakespeare uses the word "America" to Lady Viola, but the word America wasn't used at the time; it was referred to as the "New World" or "the Colonies."

Leonard Hassen

Correction: The film starts in 1593. Cartographer Martin Waldseemueller named the New World America in 1507.

tw_stuart

Corrected entry: Brain tells Snake about a map he obtained indicating where all the hidden mines were on the 69th street bridge and Maggie adds that they obtained the map from a guy who got all the way across before the police shot him. How did Brain obtain this map seeing as how the guy was shot on the other side?

Leonard Hassen

Correction: They obviously got their copy of the map from him before he made the crossing. The fact that he made it across is simply brought up as evidence that the map can be trusted. Where the original information came from is an open question.

Point Break (1991)

Corrected entry: Bodi and his surfer buddies are fleeing from a bank robbery and Bodi sets a car on fire endangering peoples lives. Seeing as how Johnny Utah is a "crack shot", why wouldn't he shoot Bodi in the leg instead of that long drawn out chase scene?

Leonard Hassen

Correction: Not only is it difficult to hit a moving target while running, it is most likely a matter of procedure. No trained police professional would endanger innocents by firing a shot at a fleeing suspect, especially if he knows the suspect's identity and could use that information to capture him later. You see shootouts all the time in movies, but in this one, what happens is actually closer to the truth.

Macalou

Corrected entry: The door to the library is closed and Vernon is in his office across the hall, so why can't he hear the music blasting from the library during the music and dancing scene?

Leonard Hassen

Correction: During the dancing/music scene, Vernon is downstairs with Carl in the basement, looking through files and talking. Therefore, he wouldn't hear the music.
