Factual error: In the famous "I did not hit her. Oh hi Mark" scene, it is depicted to have taken 68 tries to get right. It actually only took 32. (00:52:20)

Continuity mistake: Tommy and Greg get into the limo to head to The Room's premier. Inside Tommy is sitting looking out the window holding up a can of Red Bull with a straw. Greg leans his head back and it cuts to a close up of Tommy, and suddenly the can is down and he has a grimace on his face. (01:20:20)

More mistakes in The Disaster Artist


Trivia: In the movie, Sandy shows up at the premiere. In real life, Sandy did not come to the premiere as Tommy had not invited him due to incidents on set with Tommy's behaviour. Actor Kyle Vogt also did not come for similar reasons.

Trivia: After the credits, there is an additional scene where the real Tommy Wiseau plays a character Henry and comes up to James Franco playing Tommy Wiseau and they have a conversation together. (01:42:10)

Trivia: To promote this film, Disaster Artist, distributors found and rented out the exact same billboard on Highland Avenue in LA that Wiseau had used for his movie, The Room. Wiseau used this billboard for five years promoting his film, and the Disaster Artist mimicked The Room's layout in it's billboard included the phone number to RSVP for the screenings.
